Summary: I wanted to like this place and recommend others but I can’t. They took extended time to work on my vehicle and I’ve spent almost $ 700 yet the original problem was not fixed. While they are nice genuine people (hence the two stars), I would not recommend them.
Long description of my experience:
I’ve got time because I’m waiting for a tow truck so I though I’d write this longer review. I brought my vehicle into this place after seeing a few decent reviews on line. I have an older Mitsubishi and I wasn’t thrilled with the place I’ve been taking my cars. My car would crank but not start so I researched a lot of the problem and narrowed the issue down to a wiring or a relay problem and I passed that info on when I brought it into the shop.
About the shop. It’s a small somewhat hidden place but they seem clean and organized and the older gentlemen, Dick, is a really nice guy. I felt comfortable leaving my car there. I let him know everything I did and told him about the diagnostic tests I had done. I’m a novice when it comes to working on vehicles but I had spent over 10 hours researching and working on the car so I felt like I gave him a good lead. I knew it was a wiring issue and I simply didn’t have the tools or expertise to locate the problem.
Several days go by and I finally hear from the shop. The other guy, Mitsu I think is his name, calls and says something about the fuel pump and it’s going to cost $ 300. Now the fuel pump was working when I brought it in, just wasn’t getting enough voltage but I rarely question mechanics so I say go for it. A day later I go pick it up and realize they had not replaced the fuel pump but were charging me for three hours of diagnostics and cleaning a wire. So, $ 300 to clean a wire. I wasn’t happy, but it did start.
A day later, seriously one day later, I try to start the car and nothing. I call the shop and they tell me to get it towed in. I pay out of pocket for the tow truck and they get to working. A week later they tell me they need to replace the fast idle valve so I say okay. After a close to $ 400 payment it starts and on the way home it dies. The original problem, wiring which limits voltage to the fuel pump was never fixed.
I thought they were going to make things right when Dick came out to look at it after closing the shop one day. But he drove off saying something about how it needs to be brought in again and I haven’t heard from him since.
I spent some time trying to make better connections on the wires and got it to work for a few days but right now it’s broke down on the side of the road. I honestly don’t plan on taking it back to this place again. In their defense it probably is a tough issue to fix, but I don’t appreciate getting charged $ 700 to not fix anything. I can not recommend this place.

I have known both Dick and Mitsu for around 45 years, and have worked both of them for a few years in the 60’s 70’s. They are both excellent technicians. I have also used them to service my inventory, in preparation for sale. My cars have to be serviced properly the first time, to avoid customer complaints. If there is an issue after sale, Dick is there to take care of it promptly, keeping my customers happy. Same as Import Car Experts, I depend on repeat business, good service is a must.

Called in about spark plugs after learning the dealer wanted $ 230 for labor only. This place quoted me at $ 370! What’s the point of going to a local shop if it’s more than a dealer? I couldn’t believe it and had to ask him again if that price was right. He confirmed and made no effort to sell me. Seems they don’t care about gaining new customers as I called about a head gasket repair before and they seemed hands off over the phone. Fine with me I’ll take my car elsewhere.

Dick is an excellent mechanic he knows cars and can save you money by doing the job right the first time. Customer service is great and no one cares about you and your car more than these guys.
I highly recommend them.

My family of 4, plus a nephew, have been going to Import Car Experts for approximately 14 years. Being we are a family owned business, we try to give back to businesses in our community who are in the same position. My cars (x4) only see Import Car Experts and their honesty and workmanship are priceless as far as we are concerned. If it isn’t something they can fix, they recommend us to a business who they know will take good care of us and do the job correctly. Our cars range from Hondas, Toyotas, to GM trucks/​suburbans. Good old fashion customer service to topnotch repairs.

These guys were great. Very Professional with the diagnostic of my 2003 Subaru Legacy. After we went ahead with the quote (an amazingly reasonable price for a lot of work) they said the work would take 2 days and they were done in the exact time they said they would be. Car runs fantastic. I will definitely take my car in to them next time it needs work again.
