Came here for lunch. Service was friendly but the food was not good. Rice had no flavor, beans a bit salty and my fish tacos fell apart, nothing special. My husband had the machaca burrito and it was not good. Sorry but not coming back here.

Came here because they were one of the only places still open — they’re closed 15 minutes earlier(10 now) Not very professional.

I was extremely excited for jilbertos to come to Riverside, because I was a fan of another location. Since the opening I have been a frequent customer until recently. I like to call in my orders because it’s faster then waiting. The employee taking my order on the phone was unclear and seemed annoyed. While speaking with him, I had to correct him several times(for my order of nachos). Upon my arrival the employee accused me of calling in the wrong order. He was rude and insisted the incorrect order was my flaunt(his order included a burrito and nachos with rice). I recommend going somewhere else. This place has lost its touch and raised their prices.

I thought I would do a quick posting about one of my favorite Mexican restaurants in Riverside called Jilberto’s. I usually order a few Carne Asada tacos and I really give the cook props because they taste as good as the tacos I would get right from Mexico. You can taste the lean meat and sauces when you bite into your food. I would recommend any Mexican food lovers to drive through and see exactly what I’m talking about!

Shucks they do not have Al Pastor on a spit. They say not enough people order Al Pastor to justify the spit installment. I think Al Pastor dries out fast if left on the spit too long. Generally the food is nice but I expect a bit more love and flavors in their cooking.

I like it here. It’s close to home and the food is consistent! I always get the vegetarian burrito, it’s always yummy and fresh. I have a few requirements for Mexican food places like this and here they are. . THEBEANS are they tasty? I mean it’s what everything is based on, it should be good! THERICE is there any flavor? Cuz Mexican rice is usually quite boring. SALSA this is the most important thing for me, as it goes on everything! ! Is there a salsa bar, with a variety of fixings? Do they have the delicious carrots? Limes? Cilantro? A good salsa bar will keep me coming back especially with good carrots. HORCHATA is it good or watery? This place has good beans. The rice is decent. .not great. The salsa bar is great, 3 different varieties, green, red, and chip salsa, they also have pico de gallo, limes, jalapeños and delicious carrots! ! The horchata is. .eh…a little watery. Overall, it’s a good place… clean and friendly!

The girl at the register has THEWORST customer service and attitude. They have a huge sign that says«CALLINYOURORDER7 – 10AM» but yet I called and called and got no answer. I pulled up and saw them in there and called again while sitting in my car and still got no answer. I went inside to see how long it would take for chilaquiles and was told 10 mins… I didn’t have 10 minutes at that point so I explained how I’d been calling. The Mexican girl didn’t apologize 1 time and just said«well we couldn’t get in this morning» so I explained that I couldn’t order because I didn’t have time… before I could even finish my sentence she walked away and said have a good day! Lol I was shocked! This was only my 2nd visit and will most likely be my last considering the cashier had an attitude even the 1st time I went. The food was decent but the service is awful, what a shame!

Big fan of the Los Jilbertos closer to UCR on University, I decided to go here since it was closer to where I was. Food: Went with the usual I’d get at Los Jilbertos, the carne asada fries. It’s a big serving of food, enough for a meal and a snack later for the price of a single meal.(Yes a college student plans these things out). Its a big serving of delicious crispy fries with asada, cheese, sour cream and guacamole goodness on top. I usually like to add pico de gallo and their hottest salsa as well(not that spicy to tell the truth). Its always spot on delicious at the other location but here, it didn’t taste good. The asada was overly salty and there was a bit of oil at the bottom, never had these problems at the other location. The fries ended up being too soggy having sat in the oil and the meat was salty I had to pick them out. Service: The only saving grace of my lone visit here. The girl running the cashier was very nice and friendly even though it was the end of her shift. Restaurant itself is kept really clean, no complaints there. Location: In the same plaza as LA Fitness. Plenty of parking even though there are a lot of shops and restaurants. Do wish the trees would grow faster because that plaza desperately needs shade.

This is out go to burrito spot. Theirs burritos are huge, fairly cheap, and the place is never too busy. Their salsa is bomb too. Solid place

Came in on a Sunday evening. Not very many people in. Waited for a cashier for 5 min. TV blaring so loud that an older gentleman who was on the phone had to step outside because he couldn’t hear. The back of the house looks like it’s in shambles. I waited another 10 for my to go order. Food was alright, just the service was sub par.

My friends and I came here for lunch. I ordered a carnitas plate and the pork was SO dry. It looked like it had been leftover from the night before in its metal container and they scraped off the crusty top layer that had been left exposed for my plate. And so my friend encouraged me to go up and tell the cashier the pork was dry. The cashier chuckled a bit and said she would tell the chef. She came back momentarily saying«the cook had it earlier today and it was good.-Sorry about that.» I had never honestly complained before to a restaurant. But it was just sad seeing how the cashier didn’t seem to take it to heart especially as it could help them with customer retention. Being someone that is a cook myself i can tell that’s been left out. As the cook, they know what dry pork is so I don’t know why they would intentionally give their customers dry pork. And in my mind, the conclusion is the chef does not care about the customer and he just wants to do the bare minimum of his job. OR Maybe people have not been going there very often to eat their dry carnitas plates because it hasn’t been improving and the price was around $ 9.38 which is like an hour’s wages for a plate of dry carnitas. For this restaurant to continue thriving, one suggestion is to at least give a customer a free drink or a coupon or SOMETHING so they won’t have to receive 1 star ratings. But yea, they’ve got the cleanliness going on. But the sad part was that was why we thought the place would be good.

Presently surprised at how flavorful the food is! My daughter ordered the beef chimichanga plate on the daily special menu and it was huge for 7.99. I’m getting this next time. Unlike Alberto’s, the plates that get served look exactly like the picture displayed!!! Awesome.

Horrible food, horrible drink, inexperienced staff. The horchata was watered down, not even drinkable. They don’t even know what flautas are! They give you chimichangas instead. They fish taco was barely decent, if you could find the fish. It has so much cabbage that I had to take half of it off. They need work on their menu… how about hiring a proofreader? It is spelled coMbination, not coNbination… Unless you’re trying to con people into ordering your horrible food. NEVER again.

Breakfast burritos are great. I had the chorizo, egg, cheese, potato n beans burrito. Service was great. Cashier was kind, helpful and answered all of my little questions as I’m not familiar with this store. It was a pleasant experience and a great way to start the day. UNTIL the Cook in the back started blasting his rap music. Full of P***y poppin, B*****s, N****s, H**s. Sorry, not the way I want to start my day. If I had my kids around I would have had to tell him to change it. I’m not sure what kind of person the owner is but any business owner trying to maintain a profitable restaurant WOULDN’T allow music like that to be played, especially so loud. UNLESS it was a strip club in the hood. The food was 5 star but I shouldn’t have to ask an employee to be considerate. The owner/manager should be aware of who and how their business is ran at all times. 0 stars. Average 3 stars.

This place has gone to shit. When they first opened, it was good. But as fine has gone by, the service has gone to shit. They are rude, they are lazy. Always looking for ways to cut corners. The cook is an arrogant asshole. I ordered hard shell tacos and they handed me some pre cooked store bought shells… ate you kidding me? What real or wanna be real Mexican restaurant does that. when I I ordered it I told them what I wanted. But low and behold the little half ass speaking English lady didn’t have a clue. they got rude with me because they didn’t understand me… So… Please don’t waste your time or money. Because I never will again… I went next door to Jersey Mike’s… Way to lose another customer idiots…

Went in for their 2 Bean & Cheese Burritos $ 5.50 coupon, it ended up being closer to $ 7.00 with the excuse that ALL their prices just went up! They do NOT honor their recent coupons. Burritos were just okay – could have been a little more cheese – beans were suprisingly on the bland side. Basically the same as Del Taco except more than 3X the price! Okay I’M DONE! Used to eat lunch here all the time. Recently not so much. Now, probably not anymore. YOUSHOULDALWAYSALWAYSALWAYSHONORYOUROWNPUBLISHEDCOUPONS! Rediculous.

Smfh(shaking my fabulous head). No, just no! Being a south east San Diego native, this place is shameful. I even came in twice to make sure I wasn’t trippin’ about how bad my carne asada burrito was! So I ordered it again the next time, hoping my second carne asada burrito from this place would redeem this place from my first experience — and it did NO justice. The sister store on University does such a fantastic job that it was so disappointing coming here. I even told the guy at the register about my first burrito from this place, and he just thought I was crazy. I figured out what was wrong with my burrito — it was the guac. I asked the guy at the register if they used American guac or Mexican guac, his reply? «What’s the difference?» Are you serious? Ay dios mio! I’d rather make the drive to University at their other location.
