I love Joy’s, I come here often to get my letters done but I must say they need to improve their customer service ASAP! I mean that lady Stephanie is the worst person to go to have letters done. She had white-​out on everything because she kept messing up. She had to restart twice because it had so much whiteout that it was no longer legible. There was another customer who was also ordering and she kept paying attention to them instead! She gets easily distracted and wouldn’t pay attention to what I was telling her; I had to constantly repeat myself. I was very annoyed and mad because both times that I’ve had the bad luck of having her take my order has taken over an hour and a half! That is ridiculous because at most I’ve ordered two items. Now when I go to Joy’s I have to walk around the store and hope someone else is there to help me. Stephanie also made me drive back, and then walk back and forth to my car twice because she forgot to give me back my fabric and it was clearly written on my order that I wanted it back. The last time I went back I really struggled to not tell her something because when she finally gave me my fabric back she was laughing and said «oh yeah here it is» and she wanted to give me fabric that wasn’t even mine! I don’t understand how she is still working there she doesn’t know what she’s doing. When I asked for certain types of embroidery she wasn’t sure if it could be done, she kept asking the owner or the other workers if I could get certain things embroided. She is the absolute worst!!! Beware, I’m not lying avoid STEPHANIE !!! I have told others to avoid her you don’t want to spend over an hour and struggle with a rude worker who pays half attention to you and what her mind does process is wrong. (Stephanie is a thin, short lady with short hair)

So I come to Joy’s a lot and I’m usually really happy with how quickly and efficiently they take my order down, the timely manner my orders get done, and how my jackets looks when they are done.
But I just have to say that there is one employee there, I believe her name is Stephanie, that just NEEDS TO LEAVE. She short one with the short hair. I’m telling you now, AVOID HER AT ALL COSTS. Both times that I got stuck with her taking my order were just awful experiences. She is slow and very VERY unprofessional. She often gets distracted in the middle of writing down my orders. She CONSTANTLY stops paying attention to the customer and starts listening in on conversations her colleagues are having even though THEY AREN’T EVEN TALKING TO HER.
I’m usually in and out of joy’s in at most 30mins but the first time I got stuck with her taking my order, I was there for over an hour and I wasn’t even ordering much. Then she had the AUDACITY to tell me that next time I shouldn’t come in so close to when they are about to close because it means she has to stay longer to help me!!! I came in long before they were supposed to close that day and I was only there for so long BECAUSE SHE COULDN’T DO HER JOB RIGHT!
Joy Embroidery, you better FIRE HER NOW or whip her into shape because she is the worst employee you have. And you know what they say, «You are only as good as your weakest link».

Out of the three places I’ve been to for letters, this is my favorite. They get my letters done right, and pretty quickly, even during the time when more orders come in.
It’s a store where you walk in and they have all kinds of jackets, a basket of fabrics, and even some items for paddles in the back. I brought my own cardigan in and they filled out a sheet for me with all the details of what I wanted to be stitched on and where. The girl filled it out for me, as she does with everyone’s, so that it’s clear and consistent to whoever’s doing the stitching, and she whites out anything that she messes up so that there is no confusion for what I wanted it to say. They also have a book full of all the fonts, fabrics, and thread colors to choose from so that you can hold it up to compare them to how it looks on your jacket.
I put in my order around the same time as most other people do, around activation/​formals, and I still got them done within 2 weeks (but that doesn’t mean you should procrastinate on them haha, I would still put the order in a month before I need them). All the stitchings were clean and stitched pretty well to the cardigan, despite the cardigan fabric a little bit looser than a regular jacket. The execution wasn’t the best I’ve ever gotten on a stitching (they still have that fabric paper on the backside that I don’t like so much), but it can be easily trimmed off yourself. The service and efficiency though were the best that I’ve ever had with embroidery.

I wanted to make a couples/​matching hoodie and asked around for a screen print/​embroidery shop. My little brother that goes to UCR recommended this place.
It’s neat that they have different shirts, hoodies, cardigans, and sweaters to choose from. They also have different brands to choose from (I don’t like the Gildan brand because the quality sucks) so I bought 2 American Apparel hoodies to get the embroidery done.
I didn’t choose from their design but brought my own design instead. I had the files as a .png file and made everything besides the design transparent.
The workers there were very knowledgable and helpful. I’m not sure but I think I spoke to the owner too which was this Asian guy. I was pretty skeptical of the place because this was my first time getting hoodies embroidered and so I had high standards.
The price was reasonable and I kept letting them know what I wanted and how I wanted it (pretty sure they got annoyed of me but they kept their happy faces on).
After I paid, they told me that it’ll take about 2 weeks. I get a call back 5 days later saying that it was done!
Everything was beautifully made and boy was I satisfied! I definitely recommend this place. It seems like they get a lot of business from fraternities and sororities.

Too many good things about this place and they live up to the hype! Ever since I was a first-​year at UC Riverside, the university down the street, I’ve always heard the name Joy’s. Seeing everyone’s letters from Joys made me slightly jealous of wanting letters for myself done. Now three years later, I have bought several sets of letters now with them!
I came first to get letters gone for my little. Walked in, the front counter workers greeted me and asked if I needed help. Their price lists are easy to see and the selection of jackets are much larger than most places. If you need help choosing a jacket and color combo, they are super glad to help and even show you examples of past combinations that they’ve done. They have so many different types of stitches and thread so it sometimes becomes difficult choosing what you want. So start thinking ahead as well!
On average, it takes about 1.5 weeks for your order to be done and during high volume times, 2 – 3 weeks so give them some time just in case! But when I came in once to have 15 letters done, they finished them within a week! When making large orders of 12 or more of the same style, they will take $ 5 off each order as their bulk discount.
They allow you to pay either in full or half deposit/​half at pickup. This makes it a lot more affordable when you’re trying to get letters with low funds at certain times. Super affordable as well! Will definitely be coming back!

I’ve heard so many good things about this place and wanted to see how good they were! The lady there was super helpful! She had the most patience and really wanted to make sure you got what you wanted. So don’t be afraid to ask questions.
By far this is the best place to get your letters done! They finished 3 days early and did everything perfectly. A+++ to this place!

This is honestly the go to place for anything you need to embroider especially letters. All the sweaters I’ve gotten embroidered from here are such good quality!

After email corresponding with customer service I was able to process my order in the exact manner that I wanted. Still a little put off with my original communication over the phone but was surprised with how helpful the person was over email. I needed it with in a week and they were able to meet the deadline including shipping. Overall, I am satisfied as I can not match this quality in the state that I live in.

First time visiting here after hearing all the great feedback through word of mouth from the Greek community, and needing to put an order in for the lil brhos and their class of neophytes.
They keep a track of orders made by organizations, in case you aren’t sure what to order. Which helped me make sure our traditionally were the same as previous orders. And also if you like something, someone has already ordered it won’t be hard to get something similar.
I was able to order for two different chapters and get $ 5 off of each set because we ordered more than 12. I was in a rush and didn’t get to look at everything but they have hats, polos, paddles, jerseys, crew necks and hoodies.
Tons of colors to choose from and they finish in two weeks time. So make sure you plan accordingly. Half due upon ordering.

Ive been here maybe 6x to get letters made for my sorority. i dont find the staff friendly at, clearly customer service isnt a focal point in their business. However I keep coming back because its close to home and the quality of the work. HOWEVER they did mess up my last set. I order a two sets of letters, matching set for my little and i which cost me well over $ 150 (not including the sweaters). I wasn’t sure what size letters i wanted so i took an old set of letters so they can see what size i wanted. The girl messed up taking my order and they were both made with HUGE letters. the basically ran from the neck to the hip. This is why i took an old set for reference. when i asked to speak with the owner to see how this mistake can be addressed he basically said too bad. after going back and forth with him he agreed to give me 10% on the next set (only 1 sweater not 2) which really doesnt help me, the letters looked ridiculous, and there go almost $ 200 down the drain. Needless to say i havent returned.
cons:
1. they dont give you your fabric back
2. their customer service is terrible
3. they dont do anything to fix mistakes made
4. they are very pricey
5. parking is terrible
6. organization selection is very limited.
pros:
when they get the letters right they do a beautiful job, and the stitching does not come undone.

I’m a student at CSUSM, but I’m from Murrieta so I went up to Riverside for my letters and I was impressed! Great quality and turn around was a week (I went in March). They were very helpful and patient with me, this was my first time getting letters and I was overjoyed by how perfect they turned out! Letters are always an investment, but I was happy with the price, total I paid $ 138 that included:
— 1 jacket with 3 and a half inch letters with their glitter fabric (bought the jacket there), a sign on the hood and «Vanessa’s Little Sis» on the back came out to around $ 79
— I brought in my own jacket and got 4 inch letters with their glitter fabric, sign on the hood and «Mia’s Big Sis» on the back that came out to $ 59
They have a lot of options as well as other Greek items like paddles, bags, etc. I definitely recommend Joy’s. I’ll be making the drive again for my next set of letters.

Fast and fair prices! I have used Joy for years now and they always do a great job. Their selection of embroidery font could be improved.

I usually never review on-​food places on Unilocal,but I have to review this place. I was looking for embroidery places for my little’s and San Jose had extremely expensive prices. I called up joy to have my jackets shipped to them + I can pick them up when I visit and without any questions they said yes!
Extremely affordable and super friendly + accomodating.

I’ve been a loyal customer ever since 2012 and created 17+ sets of letters all of which is from Joys. This is the only place I trust with my letters. From the font to the quality, everything gets a full star in my book. If you know exactly what you want, then you can save yourself a trip by ordering through email and pay a little more for delivery. I’ve done some orders through email and it was a easy process. But if you have specific fabric you would like to use, you might need to go there. It may be better to call in to ask if they might have it (some times they have extra fabric like lace or camo aka saving you some money). They’re actually pretty fast too; of course, they always give you a week or 2 estimate but they usually get it done in a couple days. The prices are pretty fair for the quality and service that you get.

My go to place for greek letters. I’m always willing to make the drive from San Diego to Riverside just for these letters, and I’m not he only one. People from all over Southern California come here for letters (so keep in mind, during formals season, it’ll probably take longer to get letters done).
I recently headed over to Joys to get nine sets of letters done for my kids/​littles and the service was excellent! Ritika was the one who helped me out and she was super attentive and answered all of my questions. I’m super indecisive too, but she was really helpful in helping me decide what to get. They estimated that it would take about 2 weeks, but honestly, if it’s not formals season, they usually get them done in about a week or less.
Yes, it can get a little pricey, but the quality of the letters are superb and definitely worth it.

Came in to get a backpack embroidered and they did a great job! A few stray strings after some use but I’m sure that happens. Good service and they are very busy. Got my item quicker then promised. Only 4 stars because I haven’t used any other services… will update once I get letters made.

Prices are double what Progressive is! Same product double the price and they didn’t let me cancel a day later because they said they had already order the embroider? However they had told me it would take 2 weeks? No integrity

This is a really great company!
I recently ordered a line jacket from Joy’s, over email, and they called the very next day to confirm the details and charge me for my purchase. The jacket came after about 2 – 3 weeks after I ordered it initially and it looked great… except it was missing my line name on the right chest under my Big’s name.
I emailed them and they called me the very next day to apologize and explained that I wouldn’t be able to get my jacket back in time for my banquet if I were to ship it to them and have them ship it back; so they offered to pay the amount another company would charge in order to add the line. Fair enough. I checked around town and no one did this sort of work where I live so I gave them an email and they replied the next day with a shipping label (no cost) to their store to fix their error. I won’t get the jacket in time for my banquet, and it was honestly a VERY annoying error, but they showed they cared about me and my situation and that is all I can really ask for.
Great work.

The place isn’t all that «pretty,» but their work and prices are immaculate.
There’s often boxes on the floor and you’ll always run into frat/​sorority people inside, but they’re always helpful and accommodating.
I had my spirit squad’s jackets embroidered here for $ 20 each including name, school logo, and back embroidery. Can’t beat that!
Currently waiting to get my graduation sash back; quoted three weeks and normally they’re a lot faster so we’ll see how long it takes.
Best place and quality for the price!

I go to UCSD, but I brought my butt over to Riverside because I heard about their great service and good quality of Greek letters. I came here last formals season, right after I crossed, to get wooden letters for my bigs’ paddles, grab all the letters for my line sisters’ bigs, order some cardigans and letters for my twins and faves, and to burn a hole in my wallet, unintentionally and figuratively.
I had ordered my letters previously from E-​Tee Embroidery in Fountain Valley and had been a loyal customer since 2011, but wanted to check Joy out since I saw competitive prices. (I’m sorry E-​Tee! I still make orders for my fraternity from you guys) Each little wooden letter costs from $.70-​$ 4.50 from what I remember, depending on the size, and they also have double lettering, words i.e. LilBro LilSis, and crests and symbols. SOOO you can bet yo bottom dolla, you need to come prepared to spend a lot. I think my wallet took a beating that day. Just looked at my bank account; spent a whopping $ 533 that day!!! WOW TEARS. I’m no baller either.
Anyway, Emily L.‘s prices seem about right. I ordered an AA cardigan and crewneck and they came out great! They have AA hoodies, AA cardigans, line jackets, baseball jackets, shorts, shirts, you get it, a lot. They offer the cheapest prices for crests in particular, since they do have a large variety of crests they have designs for already. I even had the crewneck spell out «Eunice’s twin» under the letters itself, to the right, and it was in the exact placement and everything. Shipping cost was a little pricey, but for each additional item, it’s $ 2/​item, and they finished sooner than their expected finishing time.
Pros:
— good service. They workers there helped a lot of the Greek community create letters, so they’re familiar with making letters and what not
— large variety of items: wooden letters, mini paddles, shirts, to jackets
— competitive prices. $ 5/​embroidery is pretty darn cheap, for one.
Cons:
— None, really. I would complain about prices, but their prices are competitive, and you can’t expect to get cheap letters for great quality anywhere. But if you do, please do share your little secret with me.
Tips:
— come prepared with what you want. Go to customgreekthreads or something to get an idea of what colors you want for your letters. It’ll save you a lot of time.
