I am super thankful to Marci! 10 days before my wedding, I was in a panic mode because I didn’t have a cake vendor (one that we wanted to go with did not come through). I found Marci’s cakes on Unilocal and called her if she would take my wedding cake request in such a last minute situation. She gladly took my request as well as offered us a several pricing & size options to accommodate our budget as well as the size of guests we were having. She is responsive, accommodating, reasonable, creative and very pleasing to work with. I will definitely recommend her cakes & services and for sure come back to purchase more for future needs.

Marci was very professional and replies quickly via text. She went above and beyond to make this cake order happen for me. Everyone loved it! It wasn’t dry at all or overly sweet.

I searched through as many Unilocal reviews and pictures as I could and narrowed it down to two in case one was a disaster I’d be safe lol, Marci & Lindmair bakery. I emailed her about my requests, sent a few pictures & since I missed her appointment dates she squeezed me in to do a consultation at Starbucks. She requires a 50% deposit and $ 10 fee per half hour late for pick up and does not have a shop. Considering her professionalism, pricing, & quality, all of this was okay with me. I didn’t get a chance to pick up the cake but when my daughters father brought it I was ECSTATIC, exactly what I wanted. A nature themed cake to coincide with my baby’s middle name «Earth». Everyone raved about how awesome it looked and how good it was. Red velvet with crème cheese covered in buttercream & fondant w/​fondant decoration. So so so good and moist w/​the perfect cake: cream cheese ratio we practically fought over pieces. The writing on the banner was a BIT funky/​sloppy but I’m anal so… Lol. I will be doing business with Marci from here on out (:

Marci’s is one of the best bakers I know .she did my daughter’s first communion pull apart cupcakes and they look so beautiful and taste very good. I love her decorations on all her pieces and so far I will definitely recommend her to any one. I give her 5 stars she really deserve that I hope that one day she can go to cupcake wars and I bet she will definitely win…

I was really impressed with Marcy cakes. She is above and beyond very creative and talented. I want to thank you so much for all my mini size bites lemon, brownies desserts. All my invites loved every bite they took and we’re very pleased with the taste. I will definitely keep you on my list for all my parties.

I was a little skeptical about ordering desserts from someone I have never met before for my Daughters Bridal Shower, but after reading Marci’s reviews I went ahead and ordered from her. From the day I met her she was very professional and polite, always replied to my emails. I ordered Lemon bars, Carmel Walnut brownies, Strawberry Lemonade cupcakes, Carrot Cake cupcakes and Fruit Tarts. All my guests loved them. I definitely recommend her and will use her In the future.

I attended a wedding reception in mid-​March and the wedding cake was from Marci’s Cakes.
They had a tiered red velvet cake with simple floral design. When we first arrived, one of the first things we did after we said hello to the bride and groom was obviously admire the cake. The mother of the groom was freaking out a bit and was saying that she hopes everyone eats fast so that they could cut the cake.
I was thinking to myself, «wow she must really want to eat cake!» HAHAHA. but soon enough I realized that the cake was tilting and she was afraid the whole cake was going to fall over.
Once I heard the cake was red velvet, I decided to pass on the cake. I’m not too keen on red velvet and had too many red velvet cakes/​cupcakes that I didn’t like. On our way out, a little girl was passing out slices and gave me one. How could I refuse? So after one bite, I was really surprised about how good it tasted. I’m usually picky about red velvet, but this one had really good flavor and the frosting was light and not too heavy or too sweet.
I ate the whole piece! LOL
It was so good that I had to ask the bride where the cake was from. Marci’s Cake is a home-​based bakery with no store front so you’d have to call to order.
After browsing the photos of other cakes, I’m really impressed by all the cake décor and would actually consider Marci’s Cakes if I ever needed to order a custom cake.

Marci was amazing! She created a Dr. Seuss themed caked for my baby shower that was not only stunning but DELICIOUS! she works out of her own home and what sets Marci apart from your typical bakery is her passion and efforts that she puts into each and every cake that she makes. Every design is made to fit what you envision and every ingredient is real and fresh … You can’t beat Marci’s!

Im not the type of person to write reviews for people/​businesses, but felt compelled to do so. Marci made a gorgeous baptism cake and an adorable small personal birthday cake for my beautiful niece. Not only did it look beautiful but it tasted amazing! We heard the «ooh’s», «ahh’s» and most importantly the «mmm’s» from our guests, and knew it was a success. Every guest asked where we bought the cake. We thought it was on the pricey side, but it was worth every cent and my husband and I will def. be going to Marci for future cakes. We did want to respond to the comment left by Karina G. Obviously the cake will «melt» or «tilt» if it is not refrigerated in order for it to harden. Marci made it clear to refrigerate our cake if we wouldnt be eating it right away, which is what we did. We will recommend Marcis cakes to our friends and families. Marcis cakes are the cat’s «meoow» Best we have ever had!

I am so incredibly pleased & amazed w/​Marci’s Cakes that I immediately wanted to write a review detailing my wonderful experience. I ordered a personalized fondant cake for my boyfriend’s birthday with a «sushi» theme. A-​M-​A-​Z-​I-​NG. I was absolutely blown away by how flawless and delicious the cake was! More about that later. Here goes a full review!
Right from the get-​go (the first phone conversation w/​Marci over the phone), I almost knew immediately that I wanted to go w/​Marci’s Cakes to create my boyfriend’s birthday cake. She was the most professional, efficient, and detailed in our first phone conversation compared to other bakeries/​bakers I had spoken with. Marci was also very friendly and open to answering any questions I had. I was very new to the fondant cake world and had a couple questions that she took she time to answer. It didn’t seem like she was rushing me or trying to just get my business (like I had experienced with other companies). Before finding Marci’s Cakes, I had contacted different bakeries, private bakers, etc. through Unilocal,Craigslist, Facebook, etc. Out of the dozen or so business I spoke with, Marci seemed to be the most knowledgeable, efficient, friendly, and affordable! If you even just have a thought about ordering a cake for a special occasion, do not hesitate to call Marci right now! You will absolutely be pleased you made that call, as I was.
In our phone conversation, I informed Marci that I was looking to get a cake for the following week. I spoke with her on a Friday evening (around 4PM) and was hoping to get the cake on Wednesday morning (8:30AM). Luckily, I was able to be squeezed in. She informed me that her weekends are usually booked far in advance, however, I had some luck since I wanted the cake during a weekday (slower days for business since people usually celebrate their celebratory cake events on the weekend). Lucky me! I was very excited and she seemed to share the same excitement, as creating beautiful cakes is her passion.
Communicating with Marci through phone and e-​mail was hassle-​free. I e-​mailed over some pics of ideas I had in mind for the cake. We met the following day for payment and to go over details. I was thinking about a carrot cake (one of my boyfriend’s favorite flavors) and when she described how she makes her carrot cake, I knew I had to order it. Wheat flour, freshly grated carrots, succulent dried cranberries, and cream cheese frosting. I couldn’t wait to try it!
She was extremely professional throughout the whole process. I had only two «musts» that I wanted on the cake (a sushi table and a wasabi tube saying «Happy Birthday») and the rest was up to her. I believe in letting an artist do his/​her own thing and trust their judgment and creativity in their work. I was not disappointed in letting Marci do her thing! :)
The cake was a hit!!! So were the cupcakes!!! What cupcakes? Oh, yes. Last minute (just a couple days before pick up of my order), I asked if she could squeeze in a dozen red velvet cupcakes. Marci was great in being able to fulfill my order and have them ready upon pick-​up of the cake (which was just this morning). She packaged the cake and cupcakes in boxes for easy transportation, which was a nice touch!
I wanted to surprise my boyfriend so I coordinated with his coworkers and snuck it into his fridge at work. They surprised him at lunch with it and he (and everyone) was amazed with the presentation and perfection of the cake. You could tell that Marci had put so much hard work, detail, and love into making this cake a beautiful work of art (so cheesy but true!). It was so pretty, I almost didn’t want anyone to eat it, haha. Everyone LOVED the carrot cake and red velvet. They kept asking my boyfriend to ask me what bakery I ordered from! I passed on Marci’s info so everyone else could experience the wonderful-​ness of working with her.
So, to wrap it up– I asked the boyfriend to save me a piece of cake, which he did! A nice piece was waiting (just for me) in his fridge at work. BUT ALAS– someone at his work loved the cake so darn much, they took my piece! Haha. Judging by how quickly the cake and cupcake went (only a trace of crumbs left), safe to say that their taste buds were happy. I will most definitely be doing business with Marci’s Cake in the future and am so so very excited to try her carrot cake (and many of her other decadent flavors) in the future.

Based on the glowing Unilocal reviews I had read, I contacted Marci inquiring about a cake and cupcake order for my son’s upcoming birthday. She called me back a number of hours after my voicemail message and was very polite and helpful regarding the cake sizes, flavors and pricing. She arranged a pickup date and time and then indiciated that if I was over 15 minutes past my pick up time she would charge me a $ 10.00 late fee? I have NEVER heard of a bakery charging a late pick up fee, despite this I still placed the order!
I called her back two days later to make an adjustment to the order I had placed. This phone call was on Saturday morning, it is now Tuesday afternoon and I still have not received any return phone call, as I had requested, or any return text messages (she indicated that she communicates via text regarding orders during my initial phone call).
I must say that charging $ 72.00 for cupcakes and a small cake should be accompanied by decent customer service and in no way, shape or form is that what I have received from Marci. I am very disappointed as I was honestly looking forward to seeing her creativity and baking skills come to life in her final product, but because of this horrible service, I will not be doing business with her now or in the future.

I didn’t realize Marci’s Cakes was on Unilocal until my third order from her. I knew that I had to give my two cents about her cakes.
I’ve had her cupcakes before at her halloween party and was not disappointed. I’m amazed with her work! She likes to play with different flavors and that night she had pandan (leaves used in Southeast Asian cooking) and ube (purple yam) cupcakes. They were moist and fluffy, the buttercream frosting wasn’t overly sweet. What’s so great is that she uses REAL BUTTER in her buttercream and NO PRESERVATIVES! Everyone that went with me to the party loved them and we ended up taking two or three home teeheehee.
My first order from her was back in Oct 2012 for my birthday. I had a Deadmau5 theme and wanted that for my cake. She had no idea who or what that was but she kindly asked me to send a pic or an idea of what I wanted. I’m very indecisive… so I told her that she could get as creative as she wanted. The only decision I made was the flavor of my cake… CHOCOLATE! I also told her my color themes were black, turquoise, etc.
When I plan parties, it takes at least 3 months in advance to plan. I was so busy with the dj, bar, food, and hosting all at the same time that I didn’t have time to pick up my cake. I was waiting and anticipating when Marci would arrive with the cake, which couldn’t have come at a better time. As soon as she got there, we put the cake on the table and stuck some glow sticks in as candles. The cake was AMAZING!!! Beyond what I could have ever imagined. People were in awe, taking pictures and waiting for me to cut the cake. I really didn’t want to cut the cake at all lol… but I really had people wanting to try it. I saved the masterpiece but ate the rest of the cake with my friends who enjoyed every last but of it.
She did such a wonderful job of being creative so I decided to order another cake from her. This time I had a little more say about what I wanted and how I wanted it since it wasn’t for me. I wanted her to create a cake that resembled the T2l canon camera. I saw some pics online and I thought they were alright, so I wasn’t sure how it was gonna turn out. Also, I asked if she could do a green tea flavor since that’s the birthday boy’s favorite flavor. She’s never done a green tea but she went with it anyways. Later on I called her wanting to add 2 dozen cupcakes. She did tiramisu for me since that’s another flavor that the birthday boy loved.
When I arrived to pick them up, I was literally in shock when she showed me the cake! It was probably the best attempt of a canon camera cake I have ever seen. It was so detailed, from the front to the back. People at the party were like, «we couldn’t tell which was the real camera.» :) The cupcakes were a hit at the party… although I wished they didn’t use it to smash the birthday boy’s face with. Everything was yummy down to the last bite. I was one satisfied customer.
Marci was also very helpful about placing the cake and cupcakes in my car and instructing me to blast my ac. She mentioned that I should throw it in the fridge when I got to my destination because it was a really hot day. For some reason every time I need to pick up a cake from her, the Sun God or someone is beaming their rays right at my cake. My second caked that I picked up from her (did not mention earlier) did not sit so well because of the hot sun. This time I was more aware of the hot, hot day ahead of me so I picked it up at a later time and did everything that she told me to do to keep the buttercream hard.
Marci’s Cakes is my go to place when I have upcoming parties. If you let her be creative, you get even more out of the cakes. Thank you Marci for all your wonderful hard work and great tasting cakes!

I have been going to Marci for custom cakes and cupcakes for over 2 years now. No matter how small or big the order, she always takes the time to discuss what I want. She is very talented in decorating the cakes. I am able to let her know what I am considering and then usually leave it up to her creativity. She never disappoints. My favorite thus far is her chocolate cake with different fruit mousses. I have tried the carrot, strawberry, and lemon cakes as well and they were all very good. The whipped cream frosting is my favorite. She uses fresh ingredients, no preservatives. Because we both have busy schedules I prefer to email her through facebook. When I want specific colors I will email pictures to her yahoo account. That way it preserves the discussion as to what we agreed on. Texting and phone calls would get too confusing in my opinion. There are times when I would just set up an appointment and go discuss the cake on site. Her prices are very reasonable. She also delivers for a fee, which is recommended for two tiers and up. Marci has always been very friendly and professional to me. I just ordered a mango custard cake with buttercream for Labor Day. Can’t wait!

This baker definitely knows what she is doing with her designing! She doesn’t just make cakes that are plain and simple, but she goes above and beyond with her decorating! I am amazed as to how the cakes come out looking! She is very creative and keep creating!
The cakes themselves taste amazing, and she is always looking for new flavors and new combos!

Marci’s Cakes bakes dreams come true!
I ordered a red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting for my boyfriend’s birthday with the specification to make an edible Hello Kitty and Gundam RX-​78 look as though they were at a table eating Korean bbq. When I saw the cake, I was overwhelmed with giddiness as to how accurate Hello Kitty and RX-​78 looked as well as the ‘Korean bbq”,“side dishes”, and little touches that were added. My boyfriend was thrilled when he saw it and shared the same sentiment that this was the best cake we’ve ever seen in our lives. The cake itself was moist and not too dense, and the cream cheese frosting balanced out the sweetness and gave a nice texture. Getting hungry just thinking about it, it was delicious!
Pricing does depend of the type of cake and the love and care that is put into the cake, which is expected, but the end result is worth it! I would definitely recommend Marci’s Cake to anyone who enjoys delicious cake and detailed craftsmanship. I don’t think I can ever go back to buying a cake from the super-​market again.
