I love love love Mimis. Best decision I made. I wanted my hair a certain way and Mimi was awesome to let me know how much it was going to be before AND that my hair might not take it cause my hair was so damaged lol so she was great with the advise and a reasonable price too! Can’t wait to go back. Lisa did my hair and she was awesome, she went through every step in what she was going to do to my hair and asked me if what she was going to do was okay. And her washing my hair felt amazing. Worth every penny to both of them! Thank you ladies!

i love mimis salon. ive been going here for a 2 years now and Quynh usually cuts my hair and she does a great job. But this past time i went i got Lisa and omg the first thing she did was take a RAZOR to my hair –_​_​_​_​_​– i told her i just wanted a trim, to keep my hair as long as possible, and to keep the same style my hair was (long layers). she didnt even ask me what i wanted to do with my bangs and i felt like she didnt really care about what i wanted as the customer. in the end, she didnt really do anything expect take the VERY ends off. my hair doesnt really have the layers anymore and im pretty upset about my hair right now.

Mimi is great! So are all the ladies that work there! My sister was the one who told me about this place! I just recently cut my hair bc it was getting way too long and I usually donate! Anyway I wanted a short look and I asked for her suggestion and I love my cut!

Terrible for medium length Asian guy hair. They did a great job the first time but the next 3 times was terrible.
I wouldn’t post this if i came out with average looking hair but this last time they completely destroyed my hair and now i have to shave it down.
They’re not good at blending and perms are way out of the league. I look like a troll doll. They’re extremely not talkative i was pretty much sitting there doing nothing, there wasnt a single attempt to make small talk.
Again cant believe i have to shave my hair down. It looks like I’m wearing a wig made of pube hair.

I have been going to get my hair cut at Mimi’s for 3 years now. I have had my hair cut by many different people over the years, and I have not found anyone that quite compares to Mimi. I decided that being on stage was the life for me– and so it was very important to have a good hair cut to frame my square face.
This salon especially knows how to deal with Asian hair, which is not very common in the area. What I like best is that even after my hair has grown out for more than three months, I still get asked where I get my haircut. I mean, isn’t that just a testament in itself of how good she is?
I recommend this place to the utmost. Though it may not look like your run-​of-​the-​mill Hollywood salon, the busy atmosphere of the place can only tell you one thing. People love coming here, and it is thriving.
Funny story, my sister decided she could no longer abide her long bangs and begged me to trim them for her with only 10 minutes to spare before her first class that day. I of course messed it up (not on purpose– it was very stressful). Later that day, we booked an emergency haircut to make her look socially acceptable again. in less than 10 minutes, they gave her a cute bang that she could walk around campus with, with her head held high. That taught us both a lesson that day. Leave your bangs to the experts!

I went in today for highlights and once again I left with the most amazing hairstyle. All these years I drove to other hair salons and 5 minutes from my house I found the best hair stylist I’ve ever had. Mimi… you are amazing!

I came in and I wanted my hair back to my natural color: dark ash brown (almost black). So Mimi is suggesting colors and points out three different colors and I thought: oh ok. So they mix their colors here like a painter. No problem.
They dyed my hair dark and when done I go to pay and she charged me for THREE COLORS which hiked up the price to double. What!!! I didn’t purchase highlights. My hair was ONE color and it’s not my problem if they have to mix three colors to get the ONE in my hair.
But the issue here is that they didn’t TELL ME they were going to charge me for 3 colors. I cannot STAND a lack of communication, dishonesty therefore, and trying to play me. Had they told me they were charging me way more, I would not have agreed to 3 mixed colors. I was pretty pissed.
I still go here. I see Josefina– she is honest and communicates upfront! So far my experience with Mimi herself has been bad since she was sneaky and was able to charge me for 3 colors when I thought I was only getting ONE color in my hair. Mimi also doesn’t listen to the hair style you ask for. She gets the gist of it and then does her own thing. Ummmmmm… It’s a good hair cut but NOT WHAT I ASKED FOR. Hello! –_​_​–
I don’t go to Mimi anymore. I ask for Josefina. SHE listens. :)

I’ve been to this salon three times for haircuts and color. I love how their service is spot on and to the point. The woman who cut my hair today was very straight to the point, asked me what I wanted, and diligently delivered while tailoring the haircut to my needs. She also asked me if I wanted my hair styled and I kindly refused. I appreciate how she asked me first because sometimes others just do it. The last time when I had my hair colored, my hair didn’t get damaged one single bit which I appreciated. The customer service is great and is very professional. Thank you for my wonderful haircut!

I made the mistake by going to a random salon to get a haircut and they completely messed up my hair. I was recommended by a friend that Mimi would be able to fix my hair. Mimi fixed my hair as best as she thinks she could but I thought it came out amazing. She definitely knows what she is doing. I highly recommend her and will be coming back here for my haircuts.

Some people just know how to do their job!!! I gave them a picture of what I wanted, and that’s what I got. Thanks Lisa.

I went to Mimi’s because of the Unilocal reviews. I was NOT disappointed! Frances was awesome! I haven’t been thus happy with a cut a and color in a very long time! And the price was reasonable! I will definitely be going back and taking my family!

Let me tell you about Francis (I think that’s how you spell her name. haha)
So, long story short, I got stuck on the 91 freeway and decided to cut my already sorta short hair even shorter. it was 5:30 when I got to Mimi’s and they were supposedly closing at 6pm.
Right after Francis was done with her client before me, she came up to me and told me she was going to shampoo me first. OMG. I swear I considered not shampooing myself for about a week and maybe have it done there because it is the most relaxing shampoo aka head massage ever. I almost fell asleep. and she was so careful with it, no hair pulled. no water splashes on my face.
I really had no idea what exactly I want to do with my hair since my urge to get it chopped was out of nowhere, but i did search some a-line’s on instagram. i showed her one photo and told her that I wasn’t sure if my hair was long enough for the cut but that I did want my hair fixed because it was getting hard to maintain, and that I was trying to grow it out but I didn’t want to deal with my awkward hair while waiting. She explained to me what she was going to do, and each time she felt the need to cut more, she explained why (which is nice, unlike others who just start cutting more than you asked them to). Given the little time left before 6pm, and other customers still waiting, she still took her time to carefully cut my hair and all that. SHE DID NOT RUSH, which is very important. she even styled my hair afterwards and gave me some tips about blowdrying my bangs. lol. this is probably the first time that I’ve ever gotten a haircut that I actually wanted. unlike others, she actually listened to what i want and did that (and not try to experiment with my hair and pray to God that I like it). with some modifications of course due to my previous hair cut, but my hair still came out so much better than i have pictured it in my head during traffic.
basically, what i am trying to say is, I think I just found my go-​to hairstylist. she is fantastic.

Update review. Mimi sent a personal note regarding the haircut I got from her (per my review earlier). I think this is how business owner should be, caring about customer and show customer that you have integrity.

I usually have a really hard time getting my hair cut (I’m sure everyone’s gotten a bad hair cut and walked away disappointed with the next few weeks of ensuing self consciousness). But this place got it right and my first time trying them out.
Francis is an awesome stylist! She’s very professional and knows her craft. She explained everything she was doing and why and even how to style my hair on my own. I live in Fresno but I don’t think I’d get it cut any where else!

Love Mimi’s hair salon! She is simply the best! She is the first hair dresser to actually listen to me and she gives me the haircut I want every time I go in. Thank you Mimi

Went in Sat morning with appointment. When I walked in, they kept asking if I had appointment which I told I do when I walked in. Some staff were putting on makeups and doing their hairdo’s. I thought it was unprofessional. Do that before you come to work!
Now for the cut. I specifically told the stylist that I didn’t want my hair cut straight across in the back and that I wanted a V-​shape when looking from back. Did I get my V-​shape? NO. My hair now looks all choppy and ugly. So much for a cheap haircut. Gave 2 stars because I was able to get all my damages cut. Will not be returning unless desperate.

I have never been truly happy with my hair until I started coming to Mimi’s Salon. Francis is truly a perfectionist who takes her time to cut and style the massive heap of hair on my head.
Because I flat iron my hair often, I decided to try their Japanese Straightening treatment. I have had this treatment twice and my hair has never been so healthy! With the straightening treatment, I no longer need to flat iron my hair so my hair is less dry and damaged.

Honestly I was quite disappointed after reading the reviews for this place. I usually go to Korean salons but after moving to corona I didn’t want to drive far for a haircut, so I gave this salon a chance.
I was completely underwhelmed by the service. The lady insisted on speaking to me in Chinese even though I prefer English and her manner was very blunt.
My stylist did an okay cut since I basically only wanted a trim. But when it came to blow drying my hair the end result was terrible. My Asian hair is fairly flat and when she was drying it she commented on its flatness. And when she was done my hair seemed as if I had washed it myself and let it dry naturally. Why am I paying extra for the blow dry when my hair ends up looking completed unstyled?
For the price they charge, you could definitely get much better service and cut style at another asian place. I paid 38 $ for wash cut and style and I regret everything.
