Were not able to properly replace brake pads on a mountainbike with disc brakes. Apparently they don’t even ride the bike to see how it works before they return it to the customer. Had to return the bike and it seems it works well this time. Very disappointing, because these should be very simple little things for a professional.

After searching for a local bike shop for the past three years, I’ve finally found one I’ll stick with! The people who work here are super friendly, and they did a great job replacing stolen parts on my bike and reassembling it. I felt comfortable going in without knowing very much about bikes, and that feeling didn’t change after receiving service. I walked to the shop to pick up my bike with plans to ride it home after being serviced, and dopey me forgot the pedals at home! They were nice enough to lend me some, and didn’t make me feel like a doofus for trying to ride away without pedals! Overall, great quality and service.

Bought a used Fat tire bike from Jason at Pedals and was impressed by his small but very nice shop. This friendly shop supports the cycling community and Jason and his mechanics know their stuff.
I was in the bike business for almost 20 years and can highly recommend this shop. I don’t give out my recommendations often but this is a great shop. I’m sure I will do business with them again.

Pedals is the place to go for bike repairs! I’m generally a good DIY’er but unfortunately cross threaded my new sealed bottom bracket & housing when trying to install. You can imagine my anxiety when I learned that cross threading a bottom bracket housing can sometimes result in a trashed frame. I guess some things should just be left to the pros. Upon entering Pedals, Chris greeted me promptly and gave me and estimate of what the fix would be. The guys at Pedals did not disappoint! They were able to fix the threads on both the housing and bottom bracket including installing it for an extremely reasonable price within an hour on a Saturday! Thanks Guys!!! Looks like I found my new tune up spot!!!

Just stopped by to check some things out as I’m in the market for a bike for commuting to work and Jason helped me out with some great recommendations with no pressure to buy which was nice. Will definitely be back when it comes time to go ahead and buy the bike that’s best for me.

My daughter had another flat tire a few days after it had been repaired (different wheel), so I took the bike back to Pedals where I had a good experience previously. Jason and Chris, again were very courteous and helpful, and repaired it in 10 minutes with a heavy duty inner tube. I also purchased a more comfortable seat for the bike at the same time. The staff of this nice neighborhood bike shop is knowledgeable, honest, consistently helpful, and always friendly! And the prices are very reasonable! Another good experience! I researched bike shops prior to going there initially. I concur with Pedals’ 5-​Star rating! When in Riverside, I’ll be going to Pedals for my bicycle needs.

I researched bike repair shops before choosing Pedals Bicycle Shop for my recent bike repair. Jason (owner) and Chris both helped me and I couldn’t be happier. First of all, when I picked up my bike, it sparkled! It looked brand new. Secondly, the repair was very reasonable (new tube and complete inspection after a fall from the rafters in my garage). These guys know what they’re doing, it’s obvious they love what they do, they are wonderful to deal with and the results are awesome. I am so pleased! They have a new customer for life.

I just left Pedals a little while ago, and the staff is extremely helpful, professional, and courteous – on the phone and in person. I went because the front tire on my road bike went completely flat in a matter of minutes. I thought I needed only an inner tube, but it turned out my tire was cracked, so I had to get a new one. I also decided to have my brakes tightened while I was there.
I had to leave to go to the bank since I didn’t expect to have so much done to my bike, so I left my bike at the shop and walked to Wells Fargo. When I came back, I waited about five minutes, and my bike was ready. Once I left, I immediately noticed how much smoother my bike rode.
I HIGHLY recommend Pedals to anyone who’s looking to get anything fixed on his or her bike; it’s the perfect place to go.

Jason is an awesome guy who speaks candidly about your situation. If you explain to him exactly what your budget is, and exactly what you need your bike for, he will recommend the best bike for your position. He is extremely honest and has never misled my girlfriend and I in any purchase we have made. He has always provided us with extra assistance when we have returned.

I tried this place out after being totally ignored at Riverside Cyclery down the road and Jason was the most helpful and friendly guy that wanted my business… I weighed 525lbs and got rid of 120lbs and I was looking to see if I can get on a bike again after 20 years of barely being able to walk, Jason did all the math and came up with the perfect bike for me, it felt so good to ride again and get the wind blowing in my face, so he hooked me up with the perfect bike and I was able to get such a good deal, I picked one up for my wife too… I will be back to Pedals for all my future bike needs… Take care of Jason Kona:) ps… thank you too bike mechanic chris for your help too.

Had 3 flats in the last 2 weeks. Fixed it up each time and VERY quickly. Anything bike-​related I’ll be coming back here. Also fix bikes at UCR during the week which is super convenient.

Went to get my front tire fixed, came home with a flat back tire. Called in to see what may have happened and received no help at all. You won’t see me again

These guys are great. They know what they are talking about, are friendly, and go above and beyond to make sure that you are satisfied. The bikes there are sick and it doesn’t hurt that the shop dog, Kona, is ridiculously cute.

So I haven’t been writing reviews lately due to the craze of college and work, but I absolutely had to for Pedals!
Here’s the story:
I basically crashed into another bike and went flying and my somewhat new bike fell to the ground. Devastated more about my bike more than myself, I quickly checked it and found that it was okay. The next day I was going downhill to campus and found that my highest gear was making a weird cranking sound and when I switched to a lower one it was fine. So I continued my way but on both my front and rear gear the highest one continually making that obnoxious sound.
I brought it in to the little makeshift Pedals shop on campus at UCR as soon as they opened, (they are open every Wednesday from 10am-​4pm and TONS of students bring in their bikes to get it fixed, checked, tuned-​up) and the young man there promptly told me that it would just need adjusting/​realigning and he would have it ready for me by 2pm.
I show up at around 3pm and it’s all ready to go and it costed me virtually nothing! (Okay not really, but it was waaayyy cheaper than I would have ever expected). I wanted to tip him but he turned it down and told me just to come back the next time I needed something. AND YES I WILL! He is really helpful, friendly, and works so efficiently. I hope the folks at Pedals are paying him enough to come out and work in that little shack/​shed in the bipolar Riverside weather.
You guys are great. :) Keep it up.

My husband has had a mountain bike since he was a kid, and swears to me that this bike is worth keeping. He bought it in Illinois, a state not known for its mountains, so you can imagine what I think of it.
After years of wanting him to bike with me and finding that his bike was so beat up and out of whack that it wasn’t usable, I squirreled away a modest budget for him to either buy a decent vintage road bike from the cool dude at SoCal Bikes (where I bought my road bike last year), or, if he must, fix up his old mountain bike. He drove out to Pedals for a quote and then spent all summer deliberating, while we could have been riding.
Finally, sometime after Labor Day, he decided he was ready to take the plunge and fix up his mountain bike. It needed a new fork, new tires (slightly skinnier than his original chunky ones!), new gear cranks… I guess the frame itself was OK, but little else on the bike was. Pedals gave us a quote, we prepaid half, and less than a week later his bike was ready. The bike looks great… for a dumb old mountain bike that has never been taken off-​road. But more importantly, my husband is happy.
Best of all about Pedals: they came in under budget, and where they could have just charged us the quoted rates, they charged us their lower, actual costs. Love a good honest company that looks out for their customers!
So now we’re both sold on Pedals, and I’m sure will be back for future maintenance and repair needs. Awesome people!

The guy who runs the place is cool. He fixed my bikes while I went shopping nearby and his prices were better than the other, bigger bike shop in this part of town (which recently went out of business). For repairs, I highly recommend this place.
The only drawback worth noting is the showroom is tiny, maybe 200 square feet, so if you’re looking to buy a new bike you won’t find a huge selection.

A cozy little shop with excellent customer service, and a bicycle selection not to be challenged. But man, do not come here to buy tubes, or at least the 700×23s. I bought three tubes from them in the past and one recently, and none of them lasted more than a couple days. The last one didn’t even make it out of the neighborhood.
All of their other products though are well built.

I just bought a Nirve Lahaina 7-​speed beach cruiser bike for my wife as an advance birthday gift. As always, great customer service from the owner to the staff. The price is also very reasonable. If you are looking for a reputable, honest and friendly bike shop, do not look anywhere else. Just go to Pedals.

This bike shop makes an effort to come to UCR every Tuesday; so, yesterday I finally decided to check out what services they offer and what merchandise they carry. My overall experience, was great.
In the future, I will seek out their services again because Jason (the owner) and his staff were friendly and helpful. We spoke briefly about the issues my bike was having and he offered insight and a solution that was not very expensive.
Another reason, I like these guys is because the service time was what they said it would be. For example, after I brought my bike to Pedals they had me fill out the standard forms and leave my bike. They said the job would be complete within the hour and sure enough it was. Kudos to them for keeping up with the work load.
Lastly, being a college student, I am always looking for discounts to save money.
Pedals while on campus performs services for a discount rate. With that said, the quality of work was still there so that was a win-​win.
Again, everything about this place was great, so you should definitely check them out if you need your bike worked on.
