Rubidoux Smog and Muffler

This place is awesome! Dave is one of the only mechanics I know that won’t jerk you around or be shady. This guy is so honest! The guy is straight up and isn’t out to rob you. I’m the kind of person that does not like other people working on my car, I mostly do all my own work because I obviously want to save money and am meticulous but this time with school and work I didn’t want to screw with it.
I had a thermostat housing bust on my 2004 Volkswagen GTI and I brought my car in the next day right when they opened to see if they could help me out. Dave totally took care of me! To fix this myself would mean a night of missed obligations, incorrect tools, a pissed off mood and possibly lost wages from missing work the next day. Dave got the car fixed before lunch and saved me a ton of money.
I really got the sense that Dave is in it to take care of his customers, I saved so much hassle and money by taking it to this place that I’m writing a Unilocal review (which is saying something). Just call him and you’ll find out with one phone call.

Didn’t pass my smog check at a different place and got a referral from a friend to come here.
I met with Dave and he looked at our test and found a simple easy solution hat didn’t take more than 20 minutes to do.
This place is awesome, Dave is super friendly and obviously knows a lot about cars!
If I am ever in need of repair or tune up and in the area again I’ll definitely be back here!

Dave at Rubidoux Smog &Muffler has been a trusted mechanic to my whole family for years. My father has a Mercedes, my brother has an S-​10, my mother has a Corolla and I have a Mitzubishi. Anytime any of my family has a tune up or a major problem, we go right to Dave. He always gives honest and straight forward advice on our cars. And the quality of work is phenomenal. He never gives us the ‘run around’ and will do whatever the customer asks. He will always give you his honest opinion on what needs replacing or tuning. Finding an honest mechanic in this day&age is a rarity. With their broad automobile knowledge on several makes and models, we drive pass our own dealerships for quality work at an awesome, down to earth price. We refer as many people as we can & they always take good care of us. Would’nt dare go anywhere else!

THE BEST experience I’ve ever had while getting my car worked on. Dave’s knowledge of automobiles is unsurpassed and I will NEVER trust my car with ANYONE else under the hood ever again. No job is too big for this shop, and the service you receive is top notch. I travel all the way from the San Gabriel Valley just to have Dave work on my car because he’s honest, explains everything to where I can understand what’s going on, and his work cannot be beat. There are two highly knowledgeable men who work at this shop, and yet and I’m still in and out of here faster than the dealership! His shop is definitely the best thing to ever happen to Rubidoux and I’ve referred my own family members his way — that’s a level of trust that cannot be beat.
