Hilton Garden Inn Roanoke Rapids

Need a place to stay for a night on your drive on 95. This is a great place to stay. Friendly professional staff will take good care of you. Nice bar and restaurant. Good food. Clean comfortable rooms at a great price.

I stayed at this hotel in December 15 while on business travel and I was quite pleased with the accommodations. Even though the hotel was at capacity because of a visiting youth soccer tournament, the staff was helpful, pleasant and attentive. The rooms were clean and the bar poured generously! I will definitely frequent this location each time I visit Roanoke Rapids.

I’m sure that there are nice rooms here. We just didn’t get one. Do not get a room ending in *11 unless you want an elevator running through it all night long. Room backed up to elevator bank and the only time it as not constantly running was between 1am and 4:15am. At midnight I should have asked for another room but thought it would get better. It did not. I could have gotten a free breakfast for our sleepless night but I passed. Can’t wait to get to next destination to take a nap.

Have stayed here several times for business and always receive excellent service. Love the suite with a balcony and reason for three stars is the male bartender not up to par, he would rather check his phone and watch TV then serve you.

This experience was by no means perfect… but the staff deserves all 5 stars. My family was driving South from CT. We made the mistake of figuring we could drive as long as we wanted and then just finding a room when we were ready to sleep. That time came around 2am… and every hotel that I called (at least 25) for the next hour of driving was solidly booked. I finally found this one that had one room left… which they promised to hold. We arrived at 3:30am and were greeted with a smile. We quickly checked in and got some extra pillows and blankets… and were asleep in no time. Unfortunately, the previous guest must have set an alarm on the TV that made it turn on at full volume at 8:30am. I grabbed my young kids (who wouldn’t fall back asleep) and left my husband to sleep. When I told the front desk manager about the situation, he comped our breakfast. I wanted to feed the kids to keep them occupied, but they insisted I eat and bring something back to the room for my husband as well. Our server was so friendly and made sure we had everything that we needed.
The cost was a bit more than I would like to spend for an early morning check-​in, but the overall experience made me a fan and we will likely be back when traveling through next time. We’ll be sure to make advanced reservations!

Wow, arguably the worst experience I’ve had at a Hilton property. We are driving to Florida and while evaluating our hotel options from the road found the HGI Roanoke which looked a bit dated from the photos, but my wife and kids were ready to stop so I looked at the options. They had a «1 King Bed, 1 Bedroom Suite» available so I booked it. We typically stay at Homewoods or Embassy’s because they have two separate rooms, which allows us to have our twins go to bed and gives us some privacy as well. When I saw the room description (as listed above) I figured we would be receiving the same type of room we are used to.
When we arrived in the room we entered what is a studio suite. There is no door separating the bedroom from the living room. There is a bathroom in between the two, but again, there is no dividing wall/​door that would constitute a bedroom.
After checking my confirmation email to ensure that I wasn’t mistaken, I called the front desk. The man that answered the phone asked what he could help me with. I told him that I reserved a 1 bedroom suite and was given a studio suite. He said he needed to check and put me on hold. He came back and said that this was their only type of suite. I said «so your hotel is engaging in false advertising?» he replied «if that’s what you want to say sir.» I asked if he disagreed, he replied «I’m not going to argue about this with you.» to which I thanked him and hung up. He obviously made no attempt to rectify the situation or try to make me happy with the obvious misrepresentation of the offer.
Since I was not going to get any help from the employees on sight, I went to twitter to tell @hiltonhonors about the horrible service and blatant lie regarding the room type. 2 hour later the same hotel person called me back and said «since you went on social media to complain» (in a very demeaning tone) «I am going to offer you dessert tonight.» I laughed and asked him if he was seriously trying to rectify this situation with dessert. He responded affirmatively. I told him that I did not accept his offer.
Again, I went back to twitter to inform @hiltonhonors of the ridiculous offer. About an hour later, the same person called me back and offered to either reduce my rate by $ 30 or «upgrade me to the presidential suite.» I said «as long as the presidential has two rooms separated by a door, we’ll take it!» The representative was very short and seemed bothered by the whole situation.
Once we received our key to the new room we migrated over. The room was just as I had reserved, it was a 1 bedroom (separated by a door) suite. Thank you so much for making me work for multiple hours and spend time on twitter to get what I actually paid for!!!

Great restaurant staff. The desk folks could use some chutzpah though. The sales dept was a bit over worked.

Don’t even try to ask the management for any favors at this hotel. While HGI is usually my favorite while on the road, the management will not be flexible to help out when I asked to stop for some brief Internet access. Don’t even mention that you have diamond status because the manager doesn’t care. Instead stay at the friendly Hampton inn at the next exit!

This has been our regular stop on our way from Florida to Connecticut for the last few years. The hotel is fairly new and in great shape. The rooms are clean and the staff is friendly and accommodating. The bar is small but very nice and the food is more than decent. Great place to spend the night on the road!

We are use to staying at 4 and 5 star hotels and have high expectations in cleanliness, comfort and location. Just recently we have adopted two ragamuffins so finding something suitable and pet friendly is hit or miss. We were extremely happy with our stay. The room was very clean, mattress was extremely comfortable. Some reviews said the staff were not friendly… we DID NOT experience that at all. Everyone greeted us with smiles and how can I help. It’s true that there are no restaurants in the area but there is one right in the lobby. The food was very good. I got the classic cheeseburger with sweet potato chips, salad and a drink. It came to $ 14. It was worth the price for convenience and flavor. They also have a fabulous breakfast (all you can eat with custom order of eggs, pancakes, omelette, waffle, French toast and more for $ 9.95. Great stop for us and the furry boys

We had a very late check in. We had a king suite. It was very spacious, clean, and up to date. It even had balcony with a small table and chairs. The hotel has a pool and «All American Grill». The restaurant was nice as well. Their military discount differs night to night. This place ended up being very comparable to a best western that sold out of non smoking rooms. I would come back again if need be.

A Fido friendly hotel! Rooms were huge and clean and the staff extremely friendly. I’ve stayed here before on a trip from FL to NY and I’ll stay here again. Two huge positives: super comfy beds and a Keurig machine in the room.

This hotel was excellent. The beds were comfortable, the desk had my favorite chair (the HermanMiller Mirra, if you care), and the breakfast was awesome.
I had an omelette made to order that was absolutely delicious — I can’t think of a better way to gear myself up for a day behind the wheel.
I would wholeheartedly recommend staying here.

One of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed at. Had to book this hotel last minute as the bf and I would have to be traveling to Halifax/​Roanoke rapids to handle some business.
We didn’t want to stay in some sketchy motel so, I turned to Unilocal and google for some reviews and the hilton garden inn along with the holiday inn were the top two contenders. Ultimately, I chose the hilton garden inn since it seems like it had better amenities and accommodations. Glad, I stuck with this place because when we got to check in it was a breeze and we had a lovely room.

for $ 87 for the king size non-​smoking bedroom. Checking in was a breeze and having a corner room for a last minute reservation was AWESOME. Everything about the bedroom was nice. It was spacious, clean and had a microwave and mini fridge.
Checking out was even a smoother process! If I were ever to be in the area again, I would stay here! Friendly service from all staff and great rooms and amenities!

My wife, three sons, and I stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn for two nights because our car broke down on I-​95 on our way to Florida. The rooms are spacious, clean, and have a refrigerator, and very reasonably priced. The hotel itself is just off the interstate, but it sits out in an open field, which made it easy to walk our dog – it allows dogs – at any time. Also, we didn’t have to worry about noise from nearby restaurants, gas staions, or other businesses.
We stayed in a room designated for pets, but we never would have known had the fron desk not informed us. In fact, they were steam cleaning the carpets in the pet-​friendly rooms as we were leaving.
The hotel also has a small bar area and a little restaurant. The food that we had was quite good and reasonably priced. One note: the breakfast is not free like it is at many of the mid-​range chain hotels. But the pricetwas reasonable, and the food was much better than the typical free breakfast. They provide made-​to-​order waffles and omlettes. Also, it included waitress service at breakfast to bring you drinks, etc.
The pool is a little small, but that didn’t seem to bother our boys for any of the five or so hours that they spent swimming. Further, they were the only people in the pool for most of the time, so the size never became an issue.
The best part was the staff. Everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful, and the front desk let us check out late because our car was not repaired. It felt like Southern hospitality personified.
In the end, everyone agreed that our forced stay felt more like a mini-​vacation. I couldn’t recommend this hotel more highly for a rest stop on any trip along the I-​95 corridor.

A great, brand new, affordable hotel that takes dogs! What a great find! And, our room wasn’t rectangular– another bonus. More— very friendly staff, nice lobby. Huge soaking tub with separate shower in the suites. I recommend the upgrade– it’s not much more.

This is a wonderful Garden Inn that is pet friendly!
The hotel is clean and the staff are quite attentive. I have stayed here on each road trip from DC to Miami.
