There are many breakfast cafes in short driving distance from the Birdtown Café, including chain restaurants such as Perkins. Thankfully, Birdtown out-does almost all of them. The staff here is nice and the food is prepared quite well. The prices are reasonable and there are many menu options to choose from; certainly enough for anyone to find something that they like. Their pancakes are excellent, and their omelettes are very good!

Not bad but not good either. Food was a step above the likes of Perkins. Service was very good though.

Finding myself in the area this morning with a rumbling stomach. Had hoped to try the Athena Café but they aren’t open for breakfast so I opt for Birdtown. I grabbed a seat at the counter and was promptly given a menu and asked for a drink order. I ordered a number 1 — two eggs, hash browns and toast and sat back to read some email. They definitely have an issue with flies. I was constantly swatting away flies throughout my meal. The food was average and the eggs were cooked to order but I was a bit shocked at the price points for what was average food. Service was good and friendly but I did have to wait a while to be able to pay my bill before leaving. With the flies and high prices I don’t think I will rush to return.

Favorite breakfast place in the area. Nice staff, locally owned, delicious breakfast. Been here several times with my fam in the past year. Service has always been prompt and friendly. Casual atmosphere. Ok for kids. Try the french toast or the breakfast sandwich.

I so wanted to like this place. We have dined at Birdtown Café three time now with consistent service and food. The food is nothing special at all and not even well prepared. Someone at our table always gets a cold plate of food. The server does not come back for the«two bite check» so if you are missing something you are not going to get it. Coffee refills do not come often. I am sad to give this two stars but we will never be back.

Poor service, mediocre food. I do not understand why would anyone open a restaurant without having excellent food and service? Was hoping for good café in robbinsdale, but is not. We will not be going back.

Eggs were way to greasy for my taste(and everyone at our table). The amount of grease altered the texture and taste of the eggs(scrambled and omelet form). The The floors were sticky. The toast was burnt on all three of our plates. The waitress never stopped back to ask if everything was OK. As others mentioned it is a bit noisy and not in a good way. Something about the acoustics made it difficult to hear. Everyone had to talk louder in order to be heard over the din making the din worse. I’m not sure if it was just a bad day for them. My search for the perfect breakfast marches on…

Birdtown Café if your basic café type of place. I went with a burger with bacon, cheese and bbq. It was a very tasty burger. I was actually going to go with 3 stars for this place, but they use Hackemueller Meats… that earns them an extra star. I do wish they used different fries but they were fine. People mentioned the service. I found it to be just fine. I do plan to go back… my cousin is a big fan of food challenges, and they have one. So far 41 people have tried, 41 people have failed.

Delightful little place with good food and a reasonable price point. Service was a bit slow however.

I give it four stars on food and service. The café is nicely decorated but its like an echoey empty can cuz of that it gets real loud in there.

The food is good for the price but the servers need a tremendous amount of work. I had a similar experience to that of Cara’s except it wasn’t the daughter I am assuming it was the grandpa in the family. He literally stood by our table and settled in for a long winter’s chat. I am all for friendly wait staff but when I go to a restaurant with my family I want to be able to talk with them not a random guy helping out the staff. They also only had two highchairs which is ridiculous. I had to hold my 1 year old on my lap until one became available. Like I said, the food is pretty decent for the price and I will probably visit again in the near future in hopes that they solve their poor service. This is a fairly new restaurant and they have a lot of kinks to work out.

For many reasons I love the Birdtown Café. As a long time resident of the city it is great to have a friendly staff in a great diner to service you. Having this spot on the long list is great for Robbinsdale. The food is delicious. I don’t normally belong to the clean plate club but at the Birdtown Café you always push your waistband limits! The service is very friendly and quick to help you with a decision on which tasty menu item to choose from. Our first experience was during their only dinner opening(normally open 6 – 2) for the Robbinsdale Meet and Greet. Meeting the owners in front of the shop was great and inviting, it made the meal that much more enjoyable. Breakfast, brunch, or lunch you have to stop by and try it for yourself. We love it there!

It’s a really cute local place that has a lot of vibrance. I really wanted to like the place. As soon as we arrived, we were greeted by a cacophony of voices. Young families having a good time, but the construction of the place bounces their voices off the walls, making in really hard to talk to the person you’re with. The food, though not bad, wasn’t anything to write home about. It’s not bad considering the price. But if I had to select a breakfast place, I’d run over to Fat Nat’s in New Hope. I’ll probably try it again for lunch sometime.

Friendly staff, good breakfast and good prices. It’s nice to have a local breakfast place to go to on weekends.
