The BarnBoard Grill & Saloon has a rustic décor built with real, local barn boards from St. Croix County. We opened in June of 2009.

Random stop when driving through Wisconsin. Glad we did. Lunch was hopping at 11:50 when we arrived, but Jake was on top of it. He’s the main reason why I rate it so highly. Everything was good and he was excellent.
Great WI craft beer selection. Reasonable prices at $ 4 a pint. Cheese curds were good, I’d have liked marinara sauce instead of ranch but I can’t dock them for that.
Got the Jim Beam flat iron (I think called cowboy style?), it was very good and cooked the medium rare I requested. At $ 15.99 (I think the sauce was $ 3 extra), it’s a lot for a flat iron & the sauce was pricy, but it was good enough that I wasn’t sad about it.
Wife got a soup & salad, both were good. Priced right at $ 5.49.
All in all, I’d stop in again and if you can have Jake be your server.

Always a hit or miss opportunity with service depending on who you get. Sometimes its a great experience, but more often than not… a dissapointing one. The food is good, if not slightly pricey for the area, but all of the wait staff could use some lessons in customer service. Since there isn’t much else in Roberts to compete against, I doubt it will improve. We tend to go here only when time doesn’t permit a further destination and I need to eat out.

Visited on a Sunday morning for breakfast. We had mimosas bloody marys for drinks. I had the cajun stuffed hashbrown (so did half our party), but others had the meat omelet or pancakes with a side order of egg. My food was very good. The service we had unfortunately wasn’t quite up to par. We needed to ask for silverware, ketchup, and salt.
Good things: they take party reservations without charge, there’s a 10% military discount with proper ID (yay Uncle Sam), and their breakfast is until 12 on weekends! If I find myself around that are, I would go there for food and ignore the service… since they ignored me first! Yes, I know this is childish ;)

A chance find on the way to Minneapolis, the Barn Board is a great local spot. There is something for everyone on the menu. Food is served hot and fresh and the wait staff is great!

If the mini donuts are still on the menu, give them a try. Served piping hot with cinnamon sugar dusting, they are the perfect end to a meal

Food was good. Service was slow. Our server kept forgetting about us. We sat for a long time waiting for refills, to order, check, and to pay the check. Only 3 other tables full in the whole place and 2 other servers.

Great place to bring a family for food great menu so much variety. It is also a place to grab a couple drinks after work or late night Friday and Saturday. Bartenders are very knowledgeable, and the Bloodies are awesome.

Bloody Mary’s are delicious. Not all about the garnishes either… plain great flavor. Friendly service. Good food. Surprising because I’m usually skeptical of anything in a strip mall.

Excellent service very nice and helpful. Food was delicious and warm still when got to the table. I had the French dip and sweet potato fries there home made dipping sauce was delicious. I had to have a virgin Bloody Mary since I was pregnant while dinning there and great seasoning.

Something for everyone here even those on a restricted diet with gluten free, low fat and heart healthy choices. Had an excellent chicken taco salad with fantastic house made salsa and guacamole. Best one is western wis. Tasted the fried shell which was awesome but tossed the rest. Chips meh, ate a couple. Hub and son had cheese curds (guessing Ellsworth coop creamery as I tried one) and fries and a pulled pork sandwich and a build your own burger. I had one fry — excellent home cut. Tasted the pork — excellent. Since I’ve been taking care and getting care for foie gras, I sure do miss fatty bar-​grill food but never again however. :/

First time coming to the Barnboard Grill & Saloon and we would definitely come back. A lot of the usual bar fare on the menu. We had pizza tonight, very good. Reasonably priced I thought. The staff was a delight. What I really am looking forward to is the bag toss leagues this fall.
