AJ’s Beer Warehouse

This place is paradise to the casual beer drinker, to the enthusiast that is looking for those rare, off the wall varieties. I love that they have beers on tap to sample.
As a person who cannot consume beer due to my body rejecting gluten. They have a TON of options for those who are just like me, or maybe gluten is not your thing. The varieties of ciders is overwhelming as well as GF beers. I spoke with one of the workers there and they said if there is something you want and they don’t have it, they can do their best to order it in for you. Now that’s service.
Not only do they have beer & cider but gift packs, glasses, snacks. I don’t get out that way much, but when I do I stock up. It doesn’t get any better in Rochester for beer & cider choices.

Neat spot for a huge selection of tons and tons and tons of beer. Easily my new favorite spot for craft beers! I was never huge into craft beers until this past year. So, I was not sure where to find my favorite ones. Well, I found my favorite ones here! When you walk in don’t be alarmed if you feel like there is not much too offer. Walk into the coolers and it is comparable to walking into the closet in Narnia but with a land of beer! I highly recommend all craft beer lovers to try out AJ’s. It’s totally worth it.

I was visiting Rochester on a recent trip and a friend who went to school there recommended I stop at AJ’s. Initially I was thinking that the store is quite large but was a bit puzzled that I didn’t see much beer after a quick walk-​through of the front area of the store. That’s when I started exploring the coolers and realized there is a virtual labyrinth of beer running all through the store. They have an amazing selection and you are bound to find a lot of things that suit your tastes, whatever they may be. I quickly had more than I could carry and wished I had grabbed a basket.
The other thing worth noting is that they have quite a lot of beers that don’t seem to be available in adjacent markets. I was visiting from Ithaca and saw things like Pineapple Sculpin which we can’t get as of March 2016. So even if you’re from a nearby town, don’t assume you won’t find anything new here!

AJ’s has quickly become a favorite stop while I’m out in the dreaded Henrietta area. They sell practically everything by the single and mostly everything is kept cold, unlike that other joint. They do a good business so I don’t worry about beer being past it’s prime. Maybe Wegmans could take note of that, instead of trying to sell warm Sam Adam’s IPA’s 9 months past the brewery’s freshness date and arguing with me when I point it out !!! (Empire blvd)
Long story short, AJ’s is the spot to go.

this place is awesome to get domestic and foreign beer. I love making my own six pack, and trying all the different craft beers that they offer. They also have a great tap selection that get rotated regularly. Let’s just say that I come here more often than I should.

Probably the best beer store ever. I really wish we had this place in Buffalo. The selection is huge! They have a ton of taps for Growlers of all sizes, and even let you get 2 samples before choosing. They have a seriously gigantic walk-​in that feels like a gigantic cavern.
The beer is organized by brewery, obviously. They even have a large room that contains a lot of bigger bottles of the nicer, rarer, and more expensive beers.
I always find something at AJs. Whether it’s something I’m looking for, or something I find on a whim, the selection is just that great. If you love beer, this is THE place to check out. For me, it’s a must-​visit for my trips to Rochester!

GREAT beer selection… although I’m a huge Beers of the World Fan (and long time customer), I like AJ’s labyrinthian walk-​in cooler. Makes me feel as if I’m in a beer cellar… and it’s stocked with a wide variety of cold ones. I periodically stop by on Friday’s for beer tastings and to see what’s new. My new fave go to brew? Boom Sauce, from Woburn Massachusetts. With AJ’s and BOTW calling it home, Henrietta is THE premier locale for local beerlovers.

I might be a little bit bias, AJ is my grandson. Great spot to get your craft beers, knowledgeable staff, huge selection and the best prices in town. Bias? Not at all.

Great place, great beer, good prices. If you are into craft brews this an excellent place to come. The have taps to fill growers or bombers. They offer samples if you want to venture outside of your usual tastes and the workers there are also very knowledgeable. They know their stuff and that alone is worth its weight in hops!

I love being able to pursue and find something that peeks my interest. I was so excited that they carried a beer from the brassiere I visited in Montréal that was amazing. It can be at times difficult to find what I’m «looking» for since there really isn’t too much of a system for where beers are located, but I guess that makes it a fun treasure hunt. The staff is super knowledgable and friendly. Would highly recommend it!

Love this place. They have so much and more. Excellent array of soda and hard ciders.

AJ’s is an awesome place to shop for your upcoming parties, or to help broaden your brew palate. I like coming here with a group of friends so that it is ensured that everyone gets something that they want.
So many beers on tap, and such an amazing selection. I was very impressed with the import cooler. They have all those fancy trappist monk brews, and lots of delicious Belgian and German treats. Last time we were able to pick up a variety of hard ciders that you can’t grab at Wegmans, and a 6 pack of Konig Ludwig Weissbier Royal Bavarian Hefe-​Weizen. JA!
I just love how things are organized. They have all of their large bottled fancier beers in the back room as well. They discount things that are slowly creeping out of season to get your last tastes in.
If you aren’t sure what to get for a friend for a gift, grab a larger bottle of something different, or a growler here! There is so much to choose from, and you won’t be leaving empty-​handed.

Best beer warehouse I’ve ever come across. Want to try some beers from the rotating taps before purchasing? Want an endless assortment of seasonal beers? Looking for a good gluten free selection? Want a gift set of pint glasses and growlers? Want an assorted craft pack of your choosing of local, nationwide, and worldwide brews? Seriously, this place’s selection and their knowledgeable and friendly staff will never let you down.

For my beer drinking needs, I tend to stick to the options on tap, from which I have 45 to choose. I’ve picked up growlers as gifts or parties. They’ll offer you a couple free tastings to sample before you buy. That’s helped the decision making process. Especially if you’re buying for someone else and know what they like. Regardless, their selection is top notch and they have so much chilled beer! Great for on the go pick ups. They have a great variety of local and regional beers, which I tend to gravitate toward to support local, ya know — Badass IPA from Roc Brewing, anything from Galaxy in Binghamton, Climbing Bines, etc.
The man friend needs the gluten free beers so the selection here provides an amazing array that goes beyond ciders and Ommission. New discoveries and favorites include Glutenberg, blonde ale in particular and Stedfast has an oatmeal cream stout! Note: these are beers that were brewed with gluten and subsequently removed. Still tastes like beer! They have an awesome bottle selection beyond that for GF beers and ciders (several shelves of bottles).
My only wish is that this was closer downtown, but as they say you can’t always get what you want. It’s worth the drive to Henrietta and I’ll plan more errand running around it. Also, it’s an excuse to pick up more than I need and store the extra bottles in my basement until I need ‘em.

This is a little known (or maybe not so little known) gem in Rochester. Of all the places that have a great beer selection in the area (of which there are many), AJ’s stands out among them as the best. While their bottled and canned beer selection is pretty equivalent to many of the other places in the area, the number of draft selections that AJ’s offers is far beyond any of its competitors.
The employees are always very nice and knowledgeable and will happily recommend beers for all tastes. AND they’re happy to let you sample a few until you find what you like. They’ve always got a great selection of IPAs on tap which I love, but there’s plenty of other variety as well. Prices are very reasonable and you can get growlers (64oz) and bombers (32oz) of any of the beers on draft. And they don’t mind if you bring bottles from other stores to fill here! Kegs are also available in most of their draft beers, though some may need to be specially ordered, and they offer taps and buckets with the kegs for only a small rental fee.
I’d definitely ask for recommendations when you go in, but if you want my opinion, don’t miss the Galaxy Andromeda. It’s only available on draft and without a doubt my favorite beer at AJ’s or anywhere else.

Drive by here all the time — had no idea what I was missing out on. Location appears very small on the outside — but when you walk in it’s like a craft beer lover’s dream world. I personally am not a huge beer fan — but love crafty sodas and hard ciders. They have such an excellent beer selection, very clean and orderly. They have multiple beers on tap to bring home growlers.
I came in looking for a hard root beer (totally planning hard root beer floats) which they didn’t have but will be getting soon. I am beyond excited about this.
Definitely recommend this location — you will love it and like myself wonder why you hadn’t visited sooner.

its the beer haven. simply stated. if you love beer, you must make homage to AJ’s Beer Warehouse. For a 1^st timer like me, it was a pure delight seeing so many choices of different brews from all over the country in one place. Not only you can get bottled or canned or even mini kegs, you can sample bunch of beers on tap and if you like it. fill up the growler to take home.

I suppose it is time to review this place! I stopped in the first time almost a year ago and it has quickly become a go-​to place to try some new beers. Their selection beats out Wegmans, but is probably lesser than Beers of the World AND THAT IS OK in my book because sometimes Beers of the World is overwhelming. Beers of the World is where you would go if you wanted to try beers from a specific country or were looking for something really novel. AJs is where you go if you need good beer and don’t have half of your day to spend roaming aisles.
Another perk of AJs is that you can sample two beers they have on tap. If you like it, you can get a growler. If you don’t, you can be thankful you didn’t spend your hard earned cash on a beer that doesn’t work for you. They feature a lot of local breweries, of course that is a plus in my book because we have some great beer around here.
Staff is always friendly, too.
