Amita’s Herb Facials & Eyebrow Threading

Wonderful staff very careful and diligent. Got the pee facial and threading, very satisfied.

Worst salon experience EVER. I called well in advanvce because I had to reschedule my initial appt., because a family member had a life-​threatening emergency. When I was able to come in for my appt. here, the woman who did (the hair removal) sat and berated me for about 10 minutes like I was a ill-​behaved teenager just because I had to reschedule. The actual treatment was very shabbly done, despite the fact that I had even pre-​paid her. THe cost of the treatment was WAY too high for the hair that was left behind! The woman who did my treatment was also suggesting that I ignore my Doctor’s advice (a well regarded specialist in the Rochester area), and listen to her advice, yet she has absolutely NO medical degree.
I have never seen a more unprofessional, greedy, arrogant group of people in my life. Don’t waste your hard-​earned money here.

ABSOLUTELY THE BEST Eyebrows and Facials (and now Laser Hair Removal…) :) Amita and Deepa are the most gracious, kind and pleasant women I have ever met. More to the point… they provide the best eyebrow service and facials. I have extremely sensitive and reactive skin. Ever since finding Amita’s shop a number of years ago I have happily been a regular customer – brows and facials monthly :) I recommend their shop to anyone who wants perfect brows and luxurious, relaxing, great-​for-​your-​skin facials. My skin feels great and looks great thanks to their expertise. They treat me like gold: cozy blankets, comfortable, plush atmosphere; and their prices are very reasonable. My facials include massage for the hands, neck and feet.
Most recently, I have done the underarm laser hair removal. No pain and incredible results I am so happy with. Prior to having the laser hair removal done, I spoke with Amita and did my own research on the laser she uses. She uses the best laser available.
They have something special here at this spa/​salon. I have no doubt that if you try Amita’s, you will love it :)

Deepa is incredible. She’s so sweet, considerate and professional. I always leave the spa feeling relaxed and very happy with her services no matter if it’s threading or a facial. Even when I just «walk-​in» opposed to making an appointment, I never wait more than 5 or 10 minutes.

Deepa is who always does my eyebrows, and every time I love them! Quick service, little to no pain, great atmosphere, listened to what I wanted and delivered! Thanks for great service Deepa!

I really want to give Amita’s a higher rating because she’s so sweet and the eyebrow threading is insanely quick, but I have never walked out of the salon 100% satisfied. I feel like because she’s so fast, she’s more concerned with timeliness than making sure your eyebrows look perfect. Unfortunately, I have always found a few strays, and I don’t think that she truly shapes them at all. She removes the obvious regrowth/​strays, trims a teensy bit, but doesn’t really have the precision that I’d like.
At $ 12, it’s too pricey for the quality of work. I love threading, as it’s so much gentler than waxing, but I’ll be trekking out to Eastview mall to their express threading place out there — I find the wait times longer, but the quality of work is considerably better.
Sorry Amita’s, but after four visits, I can’t see myself returning. It’s a shame, because other people seem to be really pleased with her work.

I have been going, along with my daughters, to Amita’s for brow and facial threading for 4 years. We never knew about it until we had it done in the mall one day when they were there. It is a great alternative to trying to do it yourself and it is fast and efficient. It is less painful and you do not need an appointment. I highly recommend Amita’s — it is a relaxing atmosphere and they are warm and friendly!

I’ve been going to Amita’s for about 6 years (since her shop was out of her basement!) I’ve always walked out of there with fabulous eyebrows. I used to get my brows waxed, but since I have sensitive skin I would end up with red, puffy irritated skin. Threading, in my opinion, is less painful and never leaves my skin irritated.
Amita’s shop is spotless, comfortable and a pleasure to visit. Don’t hesitate to try any of her services!

Great alternative to waxing. Friendly staff. 30 $ for whole face including eyebrows is a great deal!

I love that Rochester has an alternative to waxing. I’ve never been comfortable with the idea of waxing because it takes of the top layer of skin and threading eliminates this issue.
I do not like the open kiosks in the mall locations because I haven’t been able to find consistency with the results. However, this salon is run by the owner herself and no matter if it’s the owner or one of her staff who greets me, I always feel welcome. I always leave here satisfied. The process of brow threading is quick and relatively painless.
If you have sensitive skin and you want your eyebrows shaped or if you have been curious about giving this a try, I recommend going to this salon first rather than the mall locations.

I have been to Amitas four times now and have had nothing but a great experience. You do usually have to wait, even if you make an appointment, because I’ve only ever seen Amita in there doing any of the threading.
However, she’s quick and efficient and gives my brows great shape. Best place I’ve found for eyebrows in Rochester.

Have been here once before and it was another woman who did my brows (not Amita). She did an AMAZING job-​seriously made my weird in between thick/​thin brows look arched and full. Was thrilled. Just went back and it was Amita who did them. Totally different results. Not sure if she was just rushed or actually not listening, but I basically have 2 straight lines on my face. After years of plucking, I asked her to leave them thick, and she just went to town, threading out any semblance of an arch and leaving them short. Thank god I’m handy with eyebrow powder, or I’d go get bangs ASAP.

I had a great experience at Amita’s. I was actually threaded by the owner Amita. She was quick and super friendly and my brows look great. The price was super reasonable too, $ 12 for brows, $ 30 for full face.
I’ll definitely be back!

One person boutique. I walked in today and waited about 20 min before she was able to thread my eyebrows. No big deal on the time waited. But, I’ve had waxing done that I think creates a better shape than the threading. Maybe I just need to voice the look I’d like?
Overall, she’s friendly and her prices are competitive with most salons for eyebrow waxing/​threading. I’ll be back in a few weeks and see if she can shape a bit better.

I went here for Waxing, Threading and Facial and I think this is a great place.
Threading was quick and perfect. Gave very good shape to my eye brows and waxing was great. No broken hairs or left un-​waxed. Very good facial too.
I live in Ithaca, NY and this place is 100 miles away, but I would definitely go there every month for my eye brows and waxing. Completely worth it !!!

I’m torn about my rating. The threading itself was pretty good. Not the best I’ve had (I’ve been threading my eyebrows for about 7 years) but not the worst either. The actual threading I’d give a 3.
The price though, $ 12? 1 star.
I moved here from NYC & used to do my eyebrows at a small place in my Queens neighborhood where I paid $ 4. If my regular girl wasn’t available I would do my eyebrows near my job @ a place on 23^rd & 8^th where I paid $ 6. Both places did execellent work, my eyebrows were always flawless. So why it cost $ 12 here is beyond me.
I have not seen any other places in Rochester that offer threading, so maybe it’s just a matter of charging whatever they want since there isn’t competition.
If I went and left with perfect brows I would be much more willing to part with my $ 12 to do my brows, but for a 3 star job, no thanks.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the way Amita has done my eyebrows. I moved to ROC city from Edison, NJ (Little India) and no one compares to her. She does an awesome job!
I have recommended her to all my co-​workers and Amita has converted them all over to only get their eyebrows threading & not waxed, sorry Brow Diva!

This is the only place I will get my eyebrows threaded at. I live in New York City — land of eyebrow threading salons, and no where in NYC compares to Amita. Everytime I come visit my in-​laws, I make sure to stop by and get my eyebrows perfected. If you bring a picture of what you want them to do, they will do exactly that.
The place is very clean and relaxing — makes you want to hang out there all day!
Definitely go here — they are quick, but won’t let you leave until you are 100% satisfied.

Somewhere between 2 and 3 stars. She was very sweet and very fast. Not the best place I’ve experienced threading but not the worst. Luckily she did not thin my brows out too much but she could have given me a better arch. It’s a cute little place located in a random shopping center. Reasonably priced ($ 12 is standard). I think the place is OK, not sure if there are threading places anywhere else in Rochester but this will do.

I started seeing Amita years ago after my mom and sis who live out of state told me about «threading.» It sounded crazy, like someone was going to put a stitch in me or something, but it is nothing like that at all. Taking a thread end in between her lips and the other in between her fingers, Amita quickly plucked/​pulled/​shaped/​whateveryouverbyouwanttocall­it my eyebrows. I can’t really describe how she did it, but I can tell you that it was FAST (literally, I was in the door and out within 10 minutes tops), cheap (like $ 12 bucks or something), and really no more painful than plucking or waxing. And it lasts long. She is super friendly and just a sweet person. I got a facial there too and found that she makes all of her own products herself. I was really impressed. This post says she’s still at Westerloe, but she’s not. She is in the Tops Plaza in the office buildings there. Amita’s Herbal Spa. Check her out. I moved away some time ago, but will still make a point of going to her for my brows the next time I am up that way.
