I got the veggie tofu plate. First time here. Owner was rude– huge turn off. Especially when someone is new to their menu. Didn’t really care for the taste– very bland. Healthy can still be tasty. Not sure if I will be back but if I return, I would attempt to order something different…

Great place. Very healthy and everything is cooked fresh that morning. Love their healthy garbage plates!

After reading many articles and reviews, I decided to stop in and give the stand alone store a try. I opted for the steak plate with meat sauce and bacon added on. It’s not the size of a normal Rochester plate you would find at many other hot places, but what it lacks in size makes up for in meat and flavor. The meat sauce was great, not too hot, but just enough to accentuate the plate. This is not their fault, but next time I come, I will go not meat sauce or bacon. The flavors match up so well with their avocado sauces and you get a healthy amount of protein. This plate stands alone on its well prepared meats, great sweet potatoes and very tasty coleslaw. If you want to eat well, feel less guilty about your meal, Effortlessly Healthy needs to be on your destination list at all times.

Delicious delicious delicious! First time there and I was very impressed. This place offers healthy options with lots of flavor, which I definitely need. Along with their take out menu, they have a meal delivery service, where you can have prepared meals delivered to your home twice a week. The pricing is reasonable and the food is good. Their take out menu is small but there are a lot of great options. I tried the chicken bacon avocado«garbage» plate which has chicken, bacon, sweet potato, cole slaw, with avocado sauce(*drools* as I think about it). I am definitely a fan and have already told my entire office about it, and where we should order from next! I will definitely be returning, and also consider trying out the meal delivery plan.

LOVE their chicken, bacon, avocado trash plate! If you like hot/spicy, I would 100% recommend adding their hot meat sauce. It adds so much flavor to the plate! The trash plate is very filling, can’t believe it is less than 500 calories! I’m about to head to their café for a healthy take out before my road trip since there’s typically only fast food on the road!

Amazing service and great options for vegans. Nothing like it around the area if you need a quick healthy meal that’s delicious. Highly highly recommend from a health freak always needing food on the go.

I’ve had their healthy plates before at events and have been pretty impressed. Good food and a nice alternative to other food trucks. However last night I tried to place an order for pick up at their store. I had a really hard time finding hours on their website but finally found that they are open on Monday and Thursday from 3:30 — 7:30. I called Monday at 3:45 but no answer. So I called back around 5 and someone picked up. I said I wanted to place an order for pick up and were told they weren’t open that day. Ok… it was a Monday, and supposedly they are only open Monday and Thursday. So I guess I’m confused at the concept. Is it a real take out restaurant and if so how do we know when it’s open? Only 2 days a week but then sometimes closed without warning? I’d love to eat here more often but with a family I can’t count on it if it’s not open when it’s advertised to be open.

I really, really want to like EH, but my experience just fell short. I was curious about it, so I decided to try the 5 Weekly Meals. The 5 Weekly Meals is $ 49.99 with free delivery within a certain radius, but if you pick it up at their location, you can save $ 5. I opted to pick it up and save $ 5, so it was $ 44.99 for the week. When I arrived that Monday to pick it my meals, however, they did not have them because they had sent my meals with their driver to deliver to my apartment in Fairport. Although that’s not a huge deal, it wasn’t what I had paid for and I didn’t have a cooler on the porch. So my meals were left outside in 90-degree heat on my porch until I could retrieve them. Also, the woman gave me a huge attitude about it — basically telling me that it was my fault that the meals were delivered. First, I didn’t pay for the delivery. Second, every email was clearly marked as pick-up. Anyways, except for one meal, the food was delicious. I did NOT care for the vegetarian chili, but the regular chili and the beef paleo plate were great. The chicken piccata was awesome — that in and of itself was enough for me to try it again.

I tried this place out at the Lilac Fest recently, when my go to truck had closed already. I’m happy I got a chance to try something different. My friend and I initially thought it might be entirely vegan but the owner assured me it was real chicken they were serving. We ordered their healthy garbage plate for $ 10 and they agreed to split it for us. I’m glad they did, because it was definitely a nice meal for two people but might have been too much for one. The plate consisted of Chicken, Bacon, Avocado, a cream dressing, roasted sweet potatoes, and coselaw as the base. There was a good amount of all the ingredients, with my favorite components being the bacon, sweet potatoes, and dressing. The bacon was the best I’ve had in a while. It was perfectly crispy. The potatoes also had a nice crisp to them, as well as a smoky flavor. I can’t wait till the next time I can get another!

I got to eat at Effortlessly Healthy at the latest food truck rodeo because the line was moving so quickly, and it was immediately obviously why — everything that they were serving was prepared and pre-made so far ahead of time that they only had to put each of the individual elements together to complete any one of their dishes. Literally no extra cooking had to be done at all. This unfortunately was a bit of a mixed blessing for me. I happened to order the Ahi Tuna Salad and you could visibly tell it’d been sitting out for awhile because it had gone a little gray. It actually tasted all right, but it was cut extremely sloppily(there were HUGE chunks of what looked like ripped up tuna), and unfortunately it was cooked to more of a medium temperature rather than medium rare or rare which is really what the temp needed to be. The poppy seed-crust actually went really well with the tuna and avocado dressing but the amount of sriracha mixed in was far too overwhelming for my palette. A little bit less would definitely go a long way. Overall I still felt like it was a good price for the buck, and I think the concept’s good, but they just need to be more careful with the cooking of the meats and balancing of their flavors. Certainly worth another shot.

I ordered the Ahi Tuna salad and I must say it was delicious. Their service was fast too. The prices are a bit higher than other places, but the quality of the ingredients makes it worth it for me. I also had their side salad on one of the Unilocal events and it was delicious too. So if you want to eat outside, but something different from the greasy stuff, this is a great choice!

While I enjoy decreasing my life span by eating amazing, terrible-for-you food, I usually try to keep my day to day meals«clean». Effortlessly Healthy is the kind of food truck I like to choose on such days(these are also the days where smoked wings are not readily available but that’s besides the point). Their menu is inspired by the Paleo diet. This means their menu is mostly a protein paired with a vegetable or mixed greens. Some dishes come with a sweet potato hash(the only carb allowed on Paleo). They do offer a few non Paleo items like homemade chocolate chip cookies. At the June Food Truck Rodeo, Joley B. and I were amazed at how great their food was. She gambled on the Ahi Tuna whereas I played it safe and got the chicken over sweet potato hash and coleslaw. The ahi tuna was perfectly cooked and there was not a single leaf of iceberg in the mixed greens it was on top of. My chicken was seasoned very well and the sweet potato hash was sweet and spicy(well, spicy for normal people). The coleslaw was crunchy/not overdressed and the avocado sauce on top gave the whole dish a creamy and delicious finish. Earlier this week, I decided to give them another try. I got the exact same chicken dish. Alas, this was a letdown. The chicken was bland and extremely dry. The coleslaw was literally shredded cabbage with no dressing. The sweet potatoes were still good but they were just sweet with nothing to truly balance it out. The avocado sauce was still tasty. Granted it was 250 calories but spices/salt/pepper are basically zero calories! Why not add a little zip to the food? At the rodeo, the speed at which we got our food confirmed that they had everything cooked ahead of time. This makes complete sense because who wants to deal with cooking chicken when faced with a neverending queue of hangry people who are drained after their workday? I was disappointed to discover that they had also premade the food on my 2nd visit. It may be why the chicken was so dry. I understand making the sweet potato hash ahead of time but tiny cubes of chicken breast cook rapidly so why chance it being dry from sitting on a warmer? Overall, it is still a good option for when you really hate the leftovers you’ve been eating for 3 days but yet want something healthy to eat for lunch. In fact, you can sign up for their meal catering program if you want to make sure you have something healthy everyday. It does seem like they still have a few kinks to work out as far as consistency. I will give them another try sometime — I am still curious about the strip steak option!

I tried out Effortlessly Healthy during the 4th of July fireworks celebration at Harris Whalen Park in Penfield. I had never been before, and my dad warned me that the food at the event can be pretty basic(hot dogs, burgers, etc.). Imagine my delight when I saw the Effortlessly Healthy truck! I had come across them before at the Food Truck Rodeo, but didn’t have the time(or stomach room!) to try them out. I went big(it was a holiday, after all!), and ordered the«Healthy Trash Plate» with chicken: cabbage slaw with sweet potatoes, cubed, spiced chicken, with their homemade turkey meat sauce, and topped with an avocado cream sauce. It was served up quickly, so my guess is that the food is prepped ahead of time and kept warm. Makes sense, but the chicken was a little on the dry side, so it would have awesome if the meat options(chicken, burgers, beef) were cooked on the grill to order, IMO. This dish was definitely hearty — the plate was heavy and full! The coleslaw was a little on the wet side for my personal preference, but the flavor was there — tangy with just enough sweetness. The real star here was the sweet potatoes: they were small cubes with a spicy kick — I’m guessing chipotle. My sister wanted to try my dish, and she kept digging around to find more potatoes. The homemade hot sauce is made in the traditional Rochester/garbage plate fashion: theirs is on the chunkier side, but I was very happy with the heat level because the coleslaw was a nice balance to offset the heat. For $ 8, this dish is very affordable for how much food you get — I could barely finish it even with the«help» from my sister! I would definitely recommend, and I LOVE that there is a truck in Rochester that is serving up healthy, inventive dishes!

After a long walk around the food truck rodeo the other night, Naz B. and I decided to try Effortlessly Healthy. I saw Ahi Tuna, and I thought — that’s what I want. But who buys Ahi Tuna from a food truck? I mean, how risky do we want to be here? I decided to try it anyways. The last few days of the school year(without students roaming halls or sitting in class) would allow me time to recuperate if need be… But in the end there was no need. This was a delightfully well cooked dish, and the Ahi was cooked perfectly. Slightly seared on the outside, and the flavor was delicious. I loved the salad dressing, and the combination with the artichoke hearts and roasted red peppers was great. The artichoke hearts were perfectly tender — none of that tough outer layers you sometimes get. Pleasantly surprised — and I’m going to check into their catering side of the business, because I was really quite pleased!

Healthy and delicious food from a food truck is 5 stars in my book! Tried the Ahi Tuna Salad at last nights food truck rodeo and it exceeded all expectations. Amazingly delicious and a wonderful healthy option amid all the tasty but not so healthy fare. Paleo friendly options can be hard to come by in Rochester, so it’s always a treat to find these guys out and about. They also offer a meal delivery service, very tempting although I haven’t tried it yet.
