Awesome food quality and selection, great atmosphere, delicious drinks. Also, love their«private events» catering.

This place is very different. With their limited menu don’t go there craving a certain item, because they probably won’t have it. The place was very very hot. We had a group of 12 and they put us to a table with no fans above. I was sweating pretty bad. I had the special of the night which was some kind of chicken sausage. I did not like it. Now the reason for the 3 stars is because a few people I was with really enjoyed their meal, and I saw things came out that looked great. So I’m assuming I just ordered the wrong thing on the wrong night. I do not believe I’ll be back, unless friends over rule me. I’m scared to spend money on an expensive meal for me not to like it again.

I’ve been hearing about how great this place was for years. I finally made it in for my best friends birthday, and it did truly live up to its reputation. The food was EXCELLENT! and we had a blast with our server, he was super efficient and personable. I had a great experience and decided to have my own birthday there. My birthday was a different story. I originally had 13 in my party and made the reservation a week in advance, even with that much notice, they couldn’t seat my party til an hour an a half later than my original time, which was fine. Over the week my party grew to 15 people and they said they couldn’t seat 15 til 9:30 that night, way to late to sit down to dinner. So I had to ask my some of my friends not to come. SUPER awkward! At the last minute(after I said i was in-between patients) they suddenly had room for everyone, which was great news! The only reason this place doesn’t have 5 stars was our server, she was SORUDE!!! She asked me if I knew what I wanted to drink, I told her I needed a second, so she said she would come back. She did come back and I was ready to make a drink order, she said with an attitude«So, are you gona order anything?» I placed my drink order and she said«are you gona order any food?» like I was wasting her time. LADY, I brought 15 people here, could you pretend to be nice? PLEASE? So, I don’t care for this server, but the food was amazing. I loved the Kimchi Cuban! and the fries were great and the burger was a big hit for everyone who had it. So, Good Luck, you need to talk to that lady, she’s bad for business.

Great cocktails – that’s their forte. Corpse Reviver is my fave. Love sharing the pizzas and burger with fries. The atmosphere is a bit noisy and not a place to have a relaxing, quiet meal and serious conversation. However, a great place to drink and have a fun time with friends when one is in the mood for a lot of stimulation. One of the owners, Mike, always greets us warm smile and friendly hello.

Hands down one of the better places to go in Rochester, if not the best. Great service, and great food.

Overall outstanding, absolute must try. Made reservations for a busy Friday night and were seated promptly. Decent beer selection and great cocktails. I ordered the burger and fries which was by far the best I’ve ever had. It’s really in a category of its own. My fiancé ordered the gnocci which was delicious but very small portion. It ended up being a very expensive dinner, but the service, atmosphere and highest quality ingredients made it worth it. Can’t wait to go back.

Just got back from another great experience from Good Luck. We started with the most amazing sandwich I haven’t had in a long time, the 40 hour pork belly. Just pure bliss! Apparently Max S should of went to Applebee’s instead. This sandwich rocked, it was cooked perfect, packed with flavor. Had the burger, gnocchi and this really amazing duck. Food is always great, even when it’s ok it’s still better than most places. This is the only place my wife wants to go. Staff is always on, they even found us a table on a busy night without having reservations. Max s give this place another try, maybe in the winter when you wear your turtleneck. Enough about that. Thanks Good Luck for another great evening.

What was good– Bibb lettuce, burger was outstanding and perfectly cooked, fried chicken was good but the Mac and cheese on the side was even better, waitress removed things from our bill without us asking when mistakes were made. Now the rest of our experience… I had high expectations after reading all the reviews of this place. After we found the hidden entrance we walked into a sauna. The a/c was on according to the waitress but not working right. It was 87 degrees outside and 87 in the restaurant with no air movement. I saw a girl fanning herself like she was in church on a hot summer Sunday in Alabama. Oh and they said it should be fixed by July! Haha Wtf. I couldn’t enjoy my meal because sweat was soaking through my shirt. We had a party of four and ordered two appetizers and three dinners to share. Plenty of food if you are trying to figure out how much to order. The app special was a fried egg w/asparagus it was pretty bland and nothing really special about it. The 40 hour pork belly sandwich was a fail. As Mitch W. said«if that was cooked for forty hours, I’ll eat my hat.» The pork was very tough and we couldn’t even finish it. The waitress took it off our bill without us even asking. Didn’t get her name but she was a plus for the restaurant. I’ll have to go back after they get their a/c fixed. I was pretty disappointed with the overall meal. I feel bad for the employees there that have to work in that heat especially the cooks.

This was an interesting find! Situated in a brick warehouse-looking complex, it’s actually not clearly marked in the front. The inside is cool — rustic chic. There is a bar area and a huge seating area with character. The hardwood floors have some of the original metal settings. I would say the food was slightly underwhelming, but creative. 1. Octopus salad: It was a good salad, but it could have used more octopus. There were tiny little scraps of it, unfortunately. For the price, it should have been more meat. 2. Posole soup: The soup itself was delicious, albeit a bit salty. I love posole, having lived in LA for many years. The tortilla that they had on the side didn’t quite go as well. It wasn’t crunchy and it wasn’t soft. In LA, I recall them putting tortilla chips in the soup, providing a nice crunch. 3. Gnocchi with asparagus and mushroom: Love the gnocchi, although a bit mushy for my taste. The asparagus and mushroom were excellent. Small portions. 4. Duck filet: This was very tender and well-done. It was a special item they were having that day, so I don’t believe it’s normally on the menu. 5. French press coffee: Huge! This could easily have served 3 – 4 people for dessert. 6. Chocolate cake a la mode: A warm chocolate cake with nice cold ice cream. Always a safe order. 7. Brulee banana tart: I wanted to try this because it sounded interesting. I love banana, so this hit the spot.

The food is really good, but the atmosphere is terrible. The wait staff are friendly, but the dining room is packed so full that you can barely yourself talk. It was so loud that I was feeling extremely over stimulated and it made me really tired. Also, the lighting was super dim. After a while, they made it even dimmer, so basically the only lights were the tea lights on the table. The night I was there, it was for my SIL graduation dinner. Our reservation was at 8:30, and we didn’t get out of there until almost midnight. At 11pm there must have been a party or something, because there was a dj and the music got even louder, as impossible as that seemed. The dj was set up right in front of the hallway to the bathroom, and he was set up so haphazardly that I tripped over something on my way by when I visited the little girl’s room. Also required was to walk DIRECTLY(within 12 inches) in front of the speakers which were head height. I’m not some dried up bitch, honestly, I just really was not expecting any of that. I’ve never been to a restaurant where I couldn’t hear the person seated next to me, and we were visiting with family from Trinidad so not being able to converse comfortably was a huge disappointment. Some of the prices are kind of ridiculous. I ordered a lemonaide, and it was like $ 3 or $ 3.5 — but it was literally like 6oz, maybe less. The portion sizes on everything except for the highest priced items are small. They say 2 – 3 people, I really wouldn’t put it more than 2. We had a larger group, and ordered 2+ orders of the dishes we wanted, and nobody got more than a spoonful or two. Also, they bring the food out as it’s ready, but there are SOMANY tables that it takes FOR. EVER. to get anything. Because the portion sizes are so small, we had to order an obscene number of dishes in order to feed everyone. We ordered 3 of the burgers, 3 orders of the gnochi, 2 rigatoni, 2 ox tails, 2 of the pork stew special, 2 salmon, 2 pizzas… that’s just what I can remember. Including wine, our bill was probably like $ 700. As I said, we had a reservation for 8:30 and we were there for almost 3.5 hours. Fortunately for me, I wasn’t responsible for the bill, so I was able to leave as soon as we were finished eating. I literally left as SOON as we were finished eating. 3.5 hours later. The only reason I’m giving a 2 is because the food was great, otherwise it would be a 1. And I will never go back there. Ever.

I grew up in Rochester but live in the NYC area and yes I can be a food snob compared to what’s offered in the area. I’ve been underwhelmed with what locals call«the best restaurants» in Rochester. I do admit that the food scene has vastly improved since I lived there. This is the second time I was actually impressed. Now it’s one of my top three favorite places in Rochester. It has the rustic vibe of the«Brooklyn» that’s trendy everywhere now, complete with tattoo-clad waitstaff. However, I think it’s done tastefully. I enjoyed the ambiance. It’s for a younger crowd though. We were there early on a Friday so it got very loud and very busy towards the end of our dinner. The service kind of tapered down after we got our food. I’ll blame the crowd and not our waitress. I ordered the beet salad app(I think) and we all devoured it — very fresh & delicious. Perfectly seasoned & dressed. Not too heavy, not too sweet. My entrée was delicious but half of my pasta was about 1 – 2 minutes under cooked(I prefer my pasta to be al dente but I was definitely eating some undercooked pasta bites). I was too hungry to send it back. The flavors were spot on delicious. Everyone seemed to enjoy their food-oxtail & something else I can’t remember. My favorite was the dessert. The banana cream pie dessert was THE. BEST. DESSERT. Someone ordered vanilla ice cream and it was on the gummy side. The chocolate cake ice cream tasted exactly like chocolate ice cream. Fun concept not really translated. I definitely recommend a visit. I definitely will come back if I can get a reservation during my future trips. I look forward to the seasonal menu changes and fresh delicious food!

This restaurant is ridiculous, amazing food amazing drinks amazing service. I would highly recommend making reservations because they are usually packed, the prices are a bit expensive but totally worth it especially if you’re sharing and the portions allow you to share. I had the 28oz steak it was cooked to perfection the seasoning was on point, the French fries were delish! It was a great experience!

I have been here for drinks and this was my third time to try to have dinner here. Reservations are a must unless you have an hour or two to spare. The food is outstanding. The burger and red lentils are a must! Great bartenders. Friendly service and is family friendly.

One of the popular dishes here is the Good Luck Burger which does not disappoint. The burger’s main focus is the meat and it is quality. The second dish I got was with parsnips. This dish was very refined. The parsnips had a subtle flavor paired with a soft texture. While the chips and pomegranate gave it a crunch with salty and sweet. Overall, my experience was very positive thanks to the great service and food.

Review is only for drinks, not food! Went here after dinner to grab cocktails, our bartender was somewhat not enthusiastic about his craft, and was tired from working his day job. Totally understandable! We ordered pisco sour and as I watching our bartender making our drinks, I noticed that he was making the drink all wrong. He put whole eggs, instead of just the egg whites. Put two whole eggs instead of one egg white. Didn’t strain the drink before serving, as a result the pisco that could’ve been awesome, it was pretty bad! I them ordered Manhattan, stirred, up. It was not well balanced and all I taste was thr Rye Whiskey. Kinda disappointed, especially after all the recommendations we get from other restaurants in the area. Will definitely return next time I’m in the area to give it another try!

Review of the bar scene– Cool & energetic vibe! Everyone I’ve been with has enjoyed the atmosphere here. They’ve got a good selection of yummy cocktails and the bartenders seem to know what they’re doing(and they were really nice about remaking a drink for my friend, definite plus). It can get crowded, esp on weekends, but the more the merrier right? GREAT place to chill with a group of friends, grab a drink with a date, or meet new people! :) Haven’t had their food yet but from what I’ve heard, it’s def next on my list of places to try!

This is one of our favorite date night spots. The Good Luck burger is amazing! Great drinks. Great spot for date night or for a family night out. The kids loved the Mexican Coke bottles when we brought our daughter out for her birthday dinner! We’ve never had bad service here. But it’s definitely on the more expensive side of things.

Good Luck is a place I often frequent for special occasions like birthday dinners, anniversary, and even a spectacular bridal shower. Every time I go I end up splitting the burger which is the size of my head. The Cheese, homemade coleslaw, and the special sauce make this one of the best gourmet burgers I have ever had. Sometimes the medium comes out more rare than I would like, so I would recommend requesting a shade darker than you normally do. On top of this burger is a heaping amount of fries, which I always say I will NOT finish but once the convos and drinks are flowing, they seem to disappear! My absolute favorite part about good luck is their red lentils. This is a must every time we go there because NOBODY makes lentils like this. My description won’t do them justice — just try them! We usually go on a Thursday night when you can BYOB, but I always end up getting a cocktail too!(call me a lush) I recommend the Inamartina, Moscow mule, and the Paloma. If you’re feeling feisty, ask the bartender for a surprise. The bridal shower I went to here was wonderfully done and the food differed from your average shower food. Had gluten free options for the bride, delicious crostinis, and a fruit salad that had fresh mint and lime to add some pizzazz! If you live in Rochester, you need to put Good luck on your bucket list!

Pricey but worth it for an exceptional experience. The food is fantastic — mostly home-made and always interesting combinations. If it’s still available(menu tends to rotate) try the home-made bologna. I’m not a bologna person and it was still amazing. The atmosphere is «speak-easy”-esque and the style of food is Tapas/sharing, although the portions are a bit larger than some more traditional tapas places. The bartenders are skilled and they have some very good drinks available — didn’t seem too overly complicated as you often see in trendy places. Was particularly impressed by actually receiving well-crafted/aromatic garnish. They perform some flaming drinks as well which is fun. Definitely plan on reservations. Service at the hostess is not always the best — have had some slightly unpleasant tone when placing reservations or while waiting to be seated, but the food service was great — the waiters/waitresses are knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Bonus is that it’s located right by the Village Gate so there are variety of other bars to explore if you’re in the mood to extend the night after dinner.

I would have to say that this burger is probably one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. Everything about it is perfect, including the fries, and mayo/ketchup sauce. It can get packed so make a reservation if you don’t want to wait. Beautiful interior and décor. Makes you feel like you’re not even in Rochester.
