Love the Shrimp Alexander. The French onion soup is also amazing and the gazpacho is a must in the summer time. Loving the new location!

The young man who seated us was RUDE… no customer skills. We were seated in the dining room in the corner at a small table for two. The room reeked of very strong fish… we asked to be moved to another room as the smell was not something I was interested in being around while I ate. The salad had a «balsamic» dressing which tasted sour and almost pickled… Iasked the waitress if it was the pickled red onions on the salad causing the off taste. she stated no those red pieces were boiled beets that were not pickled(I think not… I NEVER tasted balsamic like that. The duck when it was finally served had sat under a heat was dry and salty on the outside. it was on a bed of some gelatinous supposedly I guess orange marmalade with a loose orange colored sauce on top that had no taste. The scalloped potatoes had little flavor. My husband’s filet with a brown sauce had blue cheese on it. it was OK but the cheese had an off flavor. SO… this gets crossed off the bucket list… had eaten at the old Joey B’s in Fairport and it was OK. This… ewwww. The rolls are good.

Our first visit. We entered and were taken through a service room to the dining room. The décor is nice, the new wood floors are beautiful, and the view is pretty. The food wasn’t. My choice was a vegetarian pasta. Normally, I photograph everything. This dish was neither pretty, photo worthy, or tasteful. Plating included a couple of short lines of paprika on the rim. The mixture was greenish to colorless, bland, and lacked interest. Cost: $ 20 and the best part of the meal– hot from the oven rolls that were more like light pop overs. My dining partner had the house special. Declaring it just«okay». we agreed the best part of the meal were the hot, fresh rolls/popovers. Didn’t try desert.

This was our second time at Joey B’s in the past week. Last week we were with a party of six. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed her dinner. The service was outstanding, cocktails were generous and the dinner was memorable. One had a choice of soup or salad and I chose the clam chowder. It was thin as opposed to a thick charter. The flavor was both unusual and very delicious. My entrée was one of the evening specials. It was a delightfully prepared blackened tuna cooked to perfection. It was definitely the place that we were would return to. We returned with another couple a week later. We were seated promptly and offered our cocktail l service. My favorite restaurant prepared meal is a rack of lamb. I literally have and the selection all over the world. My favorite was from The Tack Room in Phoenix Arizona for many years. About 2 or 3 years ago I change my favorite to 2Vine here in Rochester NY. Now the prize goes to Joey B’s. It was prepared exactly the way I like it, medium rare. it was delicious! My wife chose the same entre she had the previous week. It was an unusual sea scallop dish. She raved about it. All in all, Joey B’s a restaurant with a modern décor, who pours a generous drink, offers a large but not overwhelming menu and serves a professional dinner. I look forward to returning again.
