Their jerk chicken is amazing. I was in Rochester from out of town. We got there late. The owner was taking out the trash after closing when we were getting back into our cars. She offered to send us home with something she’d whip up. We tried to be polite, but she twisted our arms and we were glad she did. Sent us back to our hotel with several pounds of food. So good. The large is LARGE.

SUPER-YUMMY! I’d give this restaurant 4.5 stars because I nearly never give anyone 5 stars. An associate and I went for lunch. It was a beautiful day so we ate outside. I like reggae, but the music inside was a wee but loud for lunch dining. But, I’d rather have it on the quiet side to re-align my wa before going back to work. I had the Oxtail with rice and peas and a side of cabbage. The oxtail was moist, succulent, wonderfully spiced(but not too much to drown out the flavor of the meat). The rice and peas were wonderful! They were a real treat. The rice was cooked just right. The beans were soft but not mushy. The taste was spot on. The cabbage was seasoned just enough and cooked so it was on the nearly soft side of firm. Each part of the balanced meal complimented the others. It is not often one can easily choose protein, starch, and veggie for lunch without something suffering(like, oh, over steamed broccoli with a cheeseburger and fries?). Not hear. I felt great on my way out! Next time, I’m going to get the curry goat! My associate had the jerk chicken. I was able to try a bit. The waitress said the chicken might be dry. WRONG! The chicken was moist and very tender! Seasoned so it would be a little hot off the bat and I’d wager it is a building heat. I would go back to have the jerk chicken, too. I haven’t had such good Caribbean food since the last time I was in Jamaica(Queens). Service was prompt, courteous, and efficient. I am going back. Oh yes, I am going back!

I think most Vibes are Electric Vibes. I’ve never known any Natural Vibes. Maybe if there was an earthquake or something. Even if you sit on a washing machine, that’s not natural, it’s already shaking but not because of nature. I’ll have a think about it and try and come up with an example of Natural Vibes. Until then stick to battery operated ones. Actually don’t stick to anything. Using those will desensitize you. Occasionally is okay but not exclusively and not even primarily. Trust me. I know these things. Hands instead. Okay? So. Ahem. The cabbage is really delicious. And the Jamaican guy who was working the day I was here was cool. He was obsessed with cars and California so we were discussing that. I think he’s a little impressed by material things. I think girls would like him. Check him out for yourself. The chef was pretty nice too although I could tell he doesn’t get along with the kid working out front. That’s where the good points end. Here are the bad points: (1) The chicken tastes really, really old. I ended up giving most to the cats. (2) The Jerk Chicken sauce is good, but I asked for extra and still hardly got any, so the whole meal was dry. (3) The rice is some of the worst rice I’ve ever had. Spongy fake rice. From a microwave box maybe? No idea. (4) The small portion is actually large which is nice, but the price is roughly $ 10! That’s not a small price! A small is anywhere from 5 to 8 at the most, but not $ 10! Come on mon! (5) That’s about it really. It’s super duper quiet in here too. I can see why. Bad reviews. I’m not surprised honestly. Didn’t do a thing for me. Sorry guys. Pop down the road and try Kabob House instead. Only on weekends. So amazing. Selena Gomez style. If this were in Tennessee it’d be Nashville Vibes. Which sounds even more like a sex shop. «Y’all be good.»

I went here on a Friday around 6pm– the food was old. I ordered the Ital which was okay the flavors were good but I couldn’t get over the crunchy dry rice. The side of cabbage was good but not outstanding. The tables were sticky and the restaurant was basically empty. THEPOSITIVE: My fiancé ordered the Jerk Chicken. The rub on that chicken was out of this world! So good– and even though it was old and reheated the chicken still tasted great not dry at all.

This is the best Jamaican restaurant I’ve been to in the United States. The cabbage was outstanding. The Jerk Chicken had the right amount of heat and spice was so tender and juicy that I could eat it everyday. It has a nice by that’s relax clean genuine. The décor is minimal but a sense of island flavor. And the best part about the restaurant is the cook genuine from Jamaica passionate is flavor. This place is a must try for any foodie anybody that likes Jamaican food anybody that thinks they can stand the heat and anybody that wants a good meal

I’ve been here a few times now to get take out. Each time I really enjoy the food but the service and how the restaurant operates leaves something to be desired. Let me start with the positive. The food here is authentic and delicious! This is the reason I keep coming back. If you’re not sure what to order, I’d recommend the Jerk Chicken meal with rice and peas topped with oxtail gravy and cabbage. Not only is the food delicious, it’s also a great value. The large Jerk Chicken is $ 11.00 and would easily feed most people for 2 meals. My husband and I just came here last night and before going to the restaurant, we checked out their take out menu at home to try and get an idea of what to order. Unfortunately, when we arrived we were disappointed to find that their actual selection for the night was limited. They did have most of the entrees on the menu available however their available sides were limited. They only white rice, rice and peas, salad, and cabbage(I got the last portion of the night and it was only 5pm!) side options. No plantains, no festival, no coleslaw, and no steamed vegetables as advertised on their menu. We were also disappointed to find that they didn’t have beef patties. Overall, the food is great, the taste and quality is there. I do think that the restaurant needs to update their menu to explain how they operate. On their takeout menu, they do indicate that certain entrees are only served on certain days like Cow Foot on Thursdays, Tripe and Beans on Friday, as well as several other dishes. So when I read the other items on the menu like beef patties that aren’t limited to certain days of the week, I expect that they will have these on hand at 5pm on a Saturday evening. Also, there is no sign to indicate that parking is in the back of the restaurant. I’ll definitely be back for more because there’s no other restaurant like this in my area and the food is always great but I think just a couple tweaks to their service would drastically change the customer experience and help keep customers coming back.

Holy great food. Cheap prices, jerk that’ll make you sweat, oxtail that falls off the bone, and hand pressed juices by the chef that change daily?! I can’t say enough good. This place is a hidden secret, and it should be shouted from the rooftops. Great service, too! I can’t wait to go back!

I was surprised with the food the 1st time I ate there. I had the ox tails with peas and rice with a side of cabbage. I went back a month later for the curry goat but they only had 1 portion left so my buddy got that and I got the King fish. Again everything was amazing. I’m only giving it 4 stars because they don’t have a liquor license yet. Once they get that, I will have to revise my rating as the food is some of the best Jamaican in the area.

Decent Jamaican food, good prices. I like their basic options, curry chicken and goat, oxtail, brown stews, and jerk chicken. All served with white rice, rice and peas, salad or cooked cabbage. Their jerk chicken is spicier than the one at Peppa Pot, and there stews are flavorful, with fall off the bone tenderness. Their brown stew was delicious, full of flavor. Their portions are great, very filling.

My coworkers just told me about this place last week, and I’ve already eaten there twice. The food was cooked to perfection. I am very picky with my rice and they nailed it. The cabbage, plantain, everything was good. I had one of the best jerk chicken I’ve ever tasted there.

i guess the previous reviewer was far too caught up with a chance at a lame pun too enjoy his time at the natural vibes on culver…or maybe he was just too captivated by his joseph conrad moment when it came to the change. i, however, care little for the superfluous. here is what you need to know. nvii has uncommon flavor in these parts. the jerk chicken was spiced perfectly with plenty of authentic tastes, from cinnamon and all spice to cayenne and thyme. .by the way, there were fresh herbs as well. .. which is very uncommon in jamaican places. the cabbage was great and the rice was cooked perfectly.

FYI: this is, in fact, a restaurant and not an adult store, a «massage parlor», or the name of a porno sequel… I was excited when I heard a Jamaican place was opening right around the corner from me(even though I’ll be moving soon). Then, not so much when I heard it was a second Jerk Hut location. I’m not much of a fan of their original location, and the new location is pretty much along the same lines food wise, albeit in a much nicer building. But that’s like putting lipstick on a pig, as they say… The food is overly salty and lacks the plethora of traditional real spices of the best Jamaican places. The ox tails were pretty much just cooked in a salty, brown gravy that had little to no character whatsoever. The curried goat was not as pungent or spicy as I like. The fried plantains and fried dumpling were good, but nothing noteworthy. The portions were pretty decent. Finally, the surly service of the original transferred over to the new location as well. The person taking my order was nice enough, but the person in the kitchen was pretty rude to her(not to me directly, but still). This is strange, because the people at most of the other Jamaican joints in town, as well as in other cities that I have been to, are always super friendly and seem to truly appreciate your business. I did have to help the girl at the counter with her arithmetic though, as she tried to charge me too little… and then made another attempt and STILL was going to undercharge me. Yes, I corrected her and paid the correct amount, because that’s how I roll. Limited parking out back, plenty of seating inside.
