Specialties
Schaeffer Academy has been providing an excellent college preparatory education to our students for 18 years. We use classical methodology to teach our students core subjects like math, literature, science, language, fine arts, Latin and logic, within a Christian worldview. With strong academics, a comprehensive music and fine arts program, and athletics for boys and girls in each season, we provide your child with a great education.
We offer half day academic kindergarten, five days per week, with the option of afternoon K enrichment classes in music, Spanish and art, so you can choose from half day or full day kindergarten, five days a week.
Our class sizes are small (typically 24 or less) and our teachers provide a loving, respectful and fun atmosphere within the classrooms.
Our high schoolers participate in MSHSL sports and fine arts (choral and instrumental music). About 12% of our graduates are National Merit Commended, Semi-finalist or Finalist scholars.
History
Established in 1993.
Schaeffer Academy was started by a group of parents in 1993 who were seeking a classical Christian education for their children. The school is named after Dr. Francis Schaeffer, the Christian philosopher whose writings convey the preeminence of a Christian worldview in all aspects of life.
Our first commencement was held in 2000. We will graduate our 11th class of seniors in May 2011. Our students continue primarily to 4 year colleges, with a minority attending junior college first before transferring to a four year university. Our earliest graduates are now physicians, lawyers, nurses and business people, who have been successfully prepared for college, faith and life beyond by their formal education by what they learned at Schaeffer Academy.
