Although part of the original«Hot Dog Row», they have now moved up the street. Unfortunately, they left common sense behind. First, when you enter there is a long winding counter with no apparent place to order. Look up, though, and the sign says«Order Anywhere.» Fine in theory, bad in practice when it’s busy and there is no system. When I asked for extra hot sauce, I was told they charged an extra 54 cents. Are you kidding me? Every place else in this area it’s free — will they start charging for ketchup soon? Service was perfunctory. I got the feeling the staff was more interested in cashing their checks than working on real customer service. No friendly greeting, no smiles. Never saw a manager or anyone in authority the whole time we were there — it’s like the inmates were running the asylum. I give it another year. A sad reflection on our times.

I’d been going to Vic & Irv’s with my dad since the ‘90s and he’s been going since the ‘50s, and Vic’s Place has the same amazing food as always! Best hot sauce in town and always friendly, helpful staff and a scenic, clean restaurant! I recommend this place year ’round!

Vic’s has become our favorite burger or plate restaurant. We love sitting at the counter and chatting with the friendly staff. Their meat sauce is to die for. But, their onion rings are perfect. I mean that. Perfect. Crunchy and flavorful. They make great malts and no matter how busy they get, they never fail to get me a refill in a timely manner. It feels like family there. Ask for Darlene. She’s awesome.

This place used to be good. I just ate a very tastless burger and had the toughest onion rings I ever had. What used to be the best rings in the county are not even edible. I threw half of them in the garbage.

Vic & Irv’s was a traditional stop for my family my entire life. My mothers family had a connection to ‘Irv’, but it was my father’s love of chili dogs that made us take the trip. Nowadays I usually avoid my old favorites like an order of fries with a white hot and chocolate shake. But when ever I do, it brings back the memories. So I am happy that the taste and the staff buzz is a reminder even if it is a completely different place and name. And you do not have to go outside round back to use the restroom!

Amazing place to stop and enjoy a meal I had the cheese burgar with onion rings and a water it was simple yet tasty. Hands down the best meal I’ve had as far as eating out. The staff was extremly friendly and the sweet pickles were really good! Definately better than Bill Grays. I am just so pleased I WILLBEBACK what a great memory!!! And great food, this place should be on food network for one of the top 5 places to dine in western NY

Although the food wasn’t to bad, the server was exstremly rude! Very childish with others. Never said thank you, how’s your meal, nothing. Came over to the table set the food down and walked away. I’m sorry, she did say thanks, when I first ordered I gave her a $ 5 tip. It’s nothing like Don and bobs. Won’t eat here again. But like I said, the food was just OK! This place is(just another burger place!)

Love the new place! Location is Awesome. A cool breeze in the summer looking at the lake. Fresh onion rings and one of the best patty melts ever. Original meat sauce. Good quality meat. The new owners have kept the old traditions and added new menu items including a to die for smores desert! New location, great burgers, fresh onion rings, yummy deserts. Cook to order. A real Seabreeze institution kept alive!(I just talked myself into going back again tonight!)

Expensive and unimpressive. They charge for every single burger topping which adds up quickly. Everything is a la carte so if you’re a family looking to order some meals, each order of fries and a drink must be ordered separately(more $$$). Picnic tables outside next to the road, not closer to the water. Paper towels are the napkins and are only located inside. They brought our order outside with no condiments or napkins whatsoever, I had to come back in side and gather everything I needed. Would not let me sub a veggie burger for a cheese burger on their coupon(Bill Gray’s allows me). No thanks.

Awesome place to go after a long day at seabreeze… I tried the deep fried plate. And the deep fried smores they were out of this world. The homemade onion rings were the bomb. Deff going back … Can’t say enough

Thinking some of the older reviews are for the old Vic and Irvs between Don’s and Bill Grays, not the new Vic’s Place up the road. It looks like they might have opened within the last year here? Got snubbed at Don’s and on the way out of area saw this place and gave it a try. Very clean inside, friendly quick service. Everything tasted great, fresh, nice juicy burgers with great hot sauce. Very accomodating with order and making sure i had everything needed for my to go. «don’t forget pickles over there» Took my order to go and didn’t expect to write this, or would have snapped a few pics.

What a great place Hot Dog Row is at the top of their game now Small and friendly family place the way Vic planed it years ago WILLBEBACK ! Hot Dog Row is the name of the area of Irondequoit located north of Seabreeze Amusement Park on Culver Road at the northwest portion of Irondequoit Bay. The area is famous for being the location of three of Rochester’s prominent burger joints: Don’s Original, Vic and Irv’s, and Bill Gray’s. Interstate 590 North ends right at Hot Dog Row and the Irondequoit Bay Outlet bridge is also adjacent. Marge’s Lakeside Inn is opposite the restaurants on Culver Road.

I’m sorry to have to right a bad review about a place I have eaten at for many years when I was a young man… Back in the day Vic’s was a hang out for all of us who lived down in Sea Breeze and East Irondequoit… The food was tasty and we loved it… They used to take our picture to hang up on the inside of the restaurant for all to see and it was very cool to see yourself years later still up there on the board… Then Vic died and the downward spiral began… It just wasn’t the same and it never will be… Now in a new location with the same owners who purchased the business a few years after Vic died it has not changed… I’m not sure what it is and I can’t put my finger on it, but it just lacks… I guess some things can’t be continued after the original owner has passed on or retired… We now only go the Don’s Original for a taste of the past…

This is a total staple for the area! My grandparents use to go here on dates and now I bring my children here when I come«home» to visit! We LOVE this place! Way better then Bill Grays to me anyways! My cousins just came to visit me and told me it was closing! We are devasted and my 20 year old son wants us to buy it! Ha! It’s so nice that these original places are still around to make my visits home special.

The bad news? This place closed a few weeks ago(November 1st). Kind of a shock after 80 years in business. The good news? It’s reopened as «Vic’s Place» just a few hundred feet up the hill next to the fire station. I ate there today and the food is outstanding. Onion rings and fries were fresh, crispy and delicious. Same ol «Vic’s» hot sauce on my cheeseburger and the ambiance is awesome. Lake views, new furniture, fast service and clean restrooms. Loved it!!!

Back in business… the classic Vic & Irv mojo persists! Long a favorite of the Seabreeze cognoscenti, this is where the real quality predominates. Nestled between Don’s Original(also great) & Bill Gray’s flagship store, Vic & Irv’s still serves up Ground Rounds, Zweigles Hots, steak sandwiches and(as the Duchess will attest) superb egg salad sandwiches on the best tasting rye bread. Great fresh cut fries and super crisp onion rings. The famous Vic & Irv’s hot sauce still has the same zing to it… Vic Anuszkiewicz would be proud.

Ended up at this place when the weather was nice and we made a trip up toward the lake. Basically, it is your typical Rochester greasy spoon type place. They have a big batch of Rochester style hot sauce in clear view and the place smells of garbage plates. The food we has was excessively greasy though and the taste was a bit underwhelming.

Simple beach shack burger joint dishing out speedy orders left and right. I can say, I’m always full afterwards. Satisfied? Maybe? It’s a touch on the expensive side for cheap food. Two burgers, order of fries and a soda set us back ~$ 15. I find myself visiting this place out of desperation when I need a quick burger before making my way to Marge’s. You know, the food you eat, but don’t really know or care what you’re eating because it’s just a local fast food burger, right? If the lines are too long next door at Don’s Original, eat at Vic & Irvs.
