York County First Steps provides early intervention to at risk children and their families to help prepare the child for successful entry into school. Services include parenting skills, literacy initiatives, technical assistance to child care providers and medical clinic services.
History
Established in 1999.
We were legislated into existence by the SC State General Assembly to provide the needed infrastructure to collaborate with local organizations and agencies that serve preschool children. Through these collaborative partnerships we can make effective use of the public and private resources to assist as many at risk children and their families prepare for success in school as well as in life.
