I’ve been coming to this tru value because it is close by my house. I sacrifice price for the convenience. Never again! I’d rather drive 10 miles than step in this store again.

The store has been my «go to» when I’ve struck out at the big box stores, or I just need a piece of hardware right away in order to get back to work.
The staff is about as knowledgable as they can be on a wide variety of subjects and are always eager to help.
This is a store that makes this neighborhood worth living in.

Pros… lots of employees always ready to help you find whatever it is you are looking for, the employees actually are knowledgeable in what they sell (unlike the big box stores), its close to where I live, so no long trip to the big box stores
Cons.the prices are higher than the box stores, but I have noticed that prices seem to be more competitive lately

Our lawn mower was deemed «engine shot» today by Handy Dandy! The only thing wrong is that 1 month ago they took $ 80.00 from us to «fix» it. The manager told me that «the young man» who brought it in a month ago wanted them to fix it”. The only problem is that the young man was Pete with balding and gray hair and never talked to anyone because the employees who fix lawn mowers were not there. Handy called Pete and told them it was fixed and it would be $ 80.00. Handy never called to get an OK to fix it the first time. The manager’s reply was «there is not guarantee with repair… I guess it doesn’t pay to shop «local». I will never spend another dime at that store.
