This place was just awesome! Really enjoyed the sandwich from Rolling Smoke in the back. The bartender was very polite and attentive. The interior decorations have wonderful taste. Just the type of place I would enjoy spending a Saturday watching football or an evening sharing drinks with friends.

This is an update to my original post. The food is supposed to be better, I have not tried it, but it smelled good. The bigger issue is that an Irish bar named Kavenaughs does not know how to pour a proper Guinness. As soon as management decides to educate their employees on the proper technique, I strongly suggest you stay away.

The best of its kind. Kavanaugh’s is a place just down/​across the street from Augustana College. Students and locals frequently stop in for drinks or to play darts or «watch the game» on one of their flat screens. Mostly Twenty somethings and people in their thirties. Frequently someone 40 and up come in for a pint or two.
I had just moved back into town from Chi Town and stopped by this place for a beer. From what I’ve seen, everyone can feel welcome. It’s the laid back attitude of the staff. My friends and I love this place. The minute you walk in to Kavanaugh’s you will feel right at home.

Kavi’s is the ultimate in college dive bar mixed with down home townie goodness. It is in fact where I spent my 21st birthday and proceeded to roll in the snow in Feburary and then shower fully clothed!
