If you are looking for a low income apartment, don’t waste your time with this place. They put you on a list and as soon as they call you up for next availability you will have a false hope. Me and my boyfriend came here in desperate need of housing and when Ariel the manager had us fill out applications she ran our credit after. She had said that she found that me and my boyfriend both having evictions on our record(which is absolutely a lie, we’ve never rented officially from anywhere) she called us saying we could correct this and we were on it but as soon as she hung up she gave the apartment to someone else and took our application fees. Save yourself the hassle and disappointment and go elsewhere! Posting this here as a warning to someone else who may fall for this.

If you tend to live at one location for long periods before moving, please read my review in full. I am not a tenant of these apartments but I did view the grounds and a one bedroom apartment. Lisa, the manager of Hidden Grove, was friendly and proficient. While she was showing me the apartments, she was describing all the amenities and I liked the answers she gave to my questions. I got the chance to talk to one of the tenants and we had a pleasant conversation. When I completed the application for residency, Lisa reviewed the requirements. Unfortunately, one of the requirements was having an income that is 2.5 times the cost of rent. I rarely look for a new place to live so this is a fact I had forgotten. Nevertheless, Lisa crunched the numbers to see if I qualified and determined that I would not qualify unless I had a co-signer. This was not an option for me so I did not pass the qualification; no fault of the apartment management. So in short, to save searching time, remember that most apartments require 2.5 x rent(sometime 3 x rent) in gross income to qualify without a co-signer.

I lived here for 7 years, and thank the heavens everyday since I was able to move! It was okay here until 2012, and ever since this place has been drug and crime infested! The manager Ariel was let know from several people of all the drug activity going on, and did NOTHING about it. She tried giving my family and I bad feedback to the new place we were moving to because she tried to get us to stay and we didn’t want to after she didn’t do anything to stop what was going on. She told us and our few neighbors who also complained to just call the cops and they stopped coming out because it got so rampant. The cops would tell us to tell our manager, and so it was a vicious circle of the lazy manager and lazy Rocklin Police. I’m a college student, and when I lived here I couldn’t concentrate on anything day and night because of all the noise and partying going on constantly. Ariel moved in the trashiest young people here and let them have 10 people to an apartment. Our ten neighbors downstairs were selling meth and pills, and the next building had a full on meth lab from what their downstairs neighbors witnessed. The manager and police were notified and even given names from multiple residents and nothing happened. My family and I feared for our safety for what was possibly being cooked under us and around us and the sketchy people limping around and laying in the middle of the complex from being drugged out on something. The pool area became a major drug dealing spot so all of this was wonderful to watch from your apartment windows. I laugh at their ads saying it’s a gated community when the gate is ALWAYS stuck open and it still doesn’t keep the haggard people out. Now they are charging over $ 1000 a month for what? A «private patio» overlooking your beautiful drug community? HILARIOUS. This place is a joke. If you’re a skanky druggy looking for a place that’s a constant haggard party place look no further! Hidden DOPE is your new home!

Gardeners come at 8 in the morning with no regard for residents, as they pound on the walls with shovels, rakes, and have the leaf blower running. Also they have a really high number of criminals in here and although the management is well aware, they have taken no action.

I lived here for about a year, and after I moved out they did a walkthrough and assured me that I would get my full security deposit back. Months and months passed, and still no check in the mail. I kept calling every month and asking about it. «Oh sorry we’ll send it out again». This happened over and over. After about 5 or 6 months, I threatened to take legal action against them and suddenly received a check in the mail.(wow, weird how that works, huh?) The check was only for $ 70. REALLY???
