Charles knows BBQ. We ate there regularly when he was in Rocklin. Glad to hear he is still BBQ’n.

Yep… thanks all for the tips everyone. Found him now at the Justin’s Car Wash/Chevron Station @ Pleasant Grove & Washington. Says he will be there Tuesday — Saturday. Good filling pulled pork sandwich, and super friendly owner!

So I just put in my original review yesterday, and already have to revise it. I was given his new location by a fellow Unilocaler, he’s now located on Pleasant Grove Blvd and Washington… In the car wash. The man knows how to BBQ. We ordered a 2 item combo of ribs and brisket. It came with coleslaw, baked beans, and a slice of bread. Honestly, I was feeling carnivorous, the sides didn’t interest me, that is until I tasted them, they didn’t stand a chance. Take a spoonful of brisket wrap the slice of bread around it and enjoy. Pick up a rib bone, now put it to the side. All the meat fell off it anyways. Now pick up the meat, and dip in a little of the sauce. Perfect.

I drove by and there was a for lease sign. Really sad if it truly is gone. Seriously the best beef ribs in town and at a great price.

Best BBQ around, Fairly priced too. I’ve worked at Lucilles, and been to Dickeys BBQ pit, and both combined DONOT come near to Ribs So Tender. Highly reccommend this place

After driving past this place everyday for the past year and a half, I finally gave it a try last weekend. We got the family meal with pulled pork, ribs, Potato salad and coleslaw. Their BBQ sauce is mmmAZING! Seriously might be the best BBQ sauce I’ve ever had. I also really loved the potato salad, and I am picky about potato salad. The meat was pretty good… I kind of expected it to be a little better though. I can say that it’s the best BBQ I’ve found in the area.

I love this BBQ! The owner is a preacher of sorts and preaches while he cooks if business is slow. He is sort of like a character out of a southern novel or maybe something Mark Twainish. Very friendly with a big personality– I get a huge kick out of him. Oh and by the way the BBQ is amazing. It is sort of hard to figure out his hours. I think he was running a church in the storefront there — not sure why since the cooking was definitely a piece of God in itself. It’s when the red trailer is out that the eatin’ is good.

He’s not lyin folks, the ribs are damn good! The pulled pork sandwich is damn good! The brisket sandwich is damned good! All 4 stars at least, but the problem is there is no consistency in the hours. Sometimes he’s there, sometimes he’s not. Sometimes, he’s there but he’s just fired up the smoker and not even close to serving up the ribs… They really are awesome ribs, but I wouldn’t plan a trip to come out this way just to try them if you aren’t willing to risk that you may end up leaving an empty lot empty handed… On the other hand, if you happen to be driving by and you see the big red trailer, you just might be able to get some deliciousness! Otherwise. Proceed to the House in Antelope!

can’t say enough good things about this small business! i’m not a fan of spicy food but those who love the heat won’t be disappointed. they may even have a spicy version of the sauce, i just didn’t ask. with that said, the sauce is a perfect mix of sweet, savory and smoke and not too thick or too thin. the fat content on the ribs and brisket is low but just right — you can tell even before digging in that they purchase quality cuts of meat. not sure why they don’t occupy the storefront there but the trailer he serves the food from is very clean and the BBQs used look like they’re maintained well also. haven’t seen him away from south whitney & sunset so maybe they’re mobile at times? in any case, the potato and macaroni salad aren’t overloaded with things like mayo or vinegar — they’re just right, too. now let’s talk about how genuinely nice and funny this dude is — he made us laugh and it was refreshing to deal with such a happy and honest person. two adults and one teen shared a brisket/ribs cobmo with two sides and it was $ 18. so forget fast food — which costs at least that much for the three of us and it’s not nearly as good. their sign says they cater and i would definitely look them up if the event was right. we’ll be back again, soon! :)

Really tender and smoke flavored ribs and chicken! Super tender even. Sometimes the rib guy runs out of a certain meat so get there early. I like his baked beans too. The guy is really cool.

The best ribs in town. My wife has never enjoyed ribs, and when we found this place she could not get enough of them. The best ribs in town by far. You get a lot for the price you will pay. Ya people are going to say that Lucille’s ribs are better but those ribs are not cooked right, every time i go there the ribs are dry, and of course you have to drench the ribs with that sauce they have.

It may not be popular among serious foodies to say this, but I LOVE the beef ribs at Lucille’s. No, they aren’t for the purist, but I love ‘em! Anyway, I wouldn’t mind if this little BBQ stand gave Lucille’s a run for their money, but after having the beef ribs last Sunday, I must regretfully opine that it is not even close. They were passable, and the sides(especially the slice of bread) were an afterthought at best. You see this little stand and you want to support the guy trying to make it, but for me the product quality just wasn’t there. And, it’s not THAT much cheaper than Lucille’s. The slightly more modest price tag shows up through the quality. I most likely would not go back. And I agree with Russ, I would prefer enthusiasm behind the food and not the good book. Of course, if the beef ribs were better I would have converted right there!

I went here several months back, but was not thrilled. The brisket was so tough that it nearly pulled out my teeth. It may have been taken off too early from the smoker or a bad day, but I say don’t serve it if you know it is tough. Brisket is my favorite smoked meat, but not that day. Since I saw Dave’s review, I will try it again, especially since I pass it nearly every day to go home. Also, I could have done without the Christian message with the meal. You can be proud of your faith and hope it helps your business but do not push the message onto customers. I will update my review if it was better the 2nd time around, if not, will leave it as is.

Wow, if you haven’t found this diamond in the rough, find it now! Another great small business in Rocklin. Talk to Charles and let him know its your first time. The free sample is to die for. My wife calls them the best ribs she’s ever had. I have to admit they are right up there! How can you go wrong. This guy is from Oklahoma and knows how to smoke a rib! I buy the dinner for $ 15 and it feeds my wife and child with leftovers! Anyone that knows me, knows I love to eat. So that is a whole lot of meat! He’s only open Thurs-Sat or Sunday. Stop by say hi and tell him Dave sent you. This place is next to the Quik Stop. You will know he is open if he has his red trailer out front and the awnings are up!
