Go Rocklin! Who knew the most socially conservative county in California could let loose like this? Just saw«Young Frankenstein» and it was fabulous in every possible way. Singing and dancing were terrific, timing was impeccable, high production value, and no Mel Brooks double entendre was spared. We brought the kids and they loved it too.

Rocklin Community Theater is located in The Finnish Temperance Hall on Rocklin Road. The building itself is a historical landmark and very PRETTY! I love this theater! I have seen three productions here so far so far: The 25th Annual Putnum County Spelling bee, Thoroughly Modern Millie and The Little Mermaid. The Spelling Bee was up for several Elly awards this year too and won for best direction. All of the shows here seem to be amazing. The talent always blows me away. I do think this theatre is often overlooked am not sure why though because I always have a great time. Since this hall is also rented out for other events, such as weddings, the seating arrangement are plastic type chairs. As a larger person, I actually find these type of chairs to be more comfortable than the pre installed theater seating. Also, the staff are more than accommodating. They provide cushions for the seats if you would like one. They have a full snack bar with really cheap snacks. Homemade cookies, brownies and even gourmet cupcakes for $ 1.00 each! Can’t get cheaper than that! I have never paid more than $ 15 for a ticket and that totally fits within my budget. I’ve been to other local«popular» theaters and I actually like Rocklin Community Theater the best so far! Get out and support local Arts! Who knows… you may even have a great time!
