The Meridian at Stanford Ranch

today is June 2 2016. for the last two weeks, the staff has been preparing for my arrival from Kentucky. They required rent money and security deposit in the form of a money order or cashiers check. The unit I moved into was newly renovated and has yet to be lived in. Today’s temperature was over 90°. The temperature here in Sacramento has been over 90 all week. The air conditioning was not working. an apartment complex such as Meridian should have ensured that the air conditioning was operating correctly during weather like this to prevent heat stroke. it took them over five hours to fix it. Three hours after I moved in. During the moving process, there is also a leak in the bathroom sink and that flooded the bathroom. The staff here are not very helpful. They stick to the corporate rules of they will gladly take your money and are not concerned about you as a person. when I explain to them that I believe the problem of this magnitude during high temperatures like this warranted monetary compensation, they only offered an apology. My health was at risk and they only concern themselves with making sure I paid my rent on time. It is after 6:30 PM and no one from the office has yet to call me to find out how I am doing or to see if the air conditioning is working properly. Hey Meridian staff! There seems to be a running theme with all the negative reviews here. You continue to show lack of compassion and care for the tenants

Don’t rent here! This place sucks. My poor mother in law lived here for many years and management treated her like crap.

I’ve lived in just about ever apartment in Rocklin/​Roseville and this place is by far the worst. They had 3 employees there when I first moved in that were very helpful and nice but they have all quit and I can now see why after personally seeing how they treat there employees/​residents. This place is loud loud loud from 9am to 2am and the management does not value there residents AT ALL. There are a bunch of options in Rocklin/​Roseville so do your self a favor and make this one your last.

I called in advance and made an appointment to come look at a 2 bedroom. When I got inside the office it was 4:20. Brandon spoke to me for a few minutes and then rather than showing me a unit proceeded to look for photos online to show me. I asked to physically see an apartment and he said «Oh, we can’t show them after 4:30– it’s policy.» I had driven over an hour in the rain with my baby in the car to see the place. I told him to ask his supervisor. When he came back he said that she said no. I was left wondering– why the hell didn’t he take me quickly before 4:30p? I had been standing there wondering why on earth he was trying to show me photos!
Needless to say i was irate! It was clear Brandon had no authority so I walked back into the office of the supervisor and told her I had driven and hour in the rain with a baby and was here before 4:30. I asked her to please take 5 minutes to show me an apartment and if I liked it I’d come back the next day to do paperwork and ask more questions.
She said «No, it’s policy.» I replied «Is it policy to treat prospective tenants like this? Can you not take 5 minutes to show it?» She proceeded «I am sorry you feel that way.»!!!
I was so angry I told her I would never rent there and told her I’d post about their poor customer service. She didn’t seem to care at all.
And you know, had it been approached differently in terms of customer service, even had they not been able to show it to me, I would have never written this. But I am shocked!
The only upside of having this interaction is that I learned how AWFUL the office staff is and how LITTLE they care about customer service or needs of people BEFORE I moved in and became any further involved with them.
I would NEVER rent here NOR Recommend it to ANYONE. NEVER.

Pros:
The staff is friendly and helpful (especially Becca). One of the aspects that I appreciate about living here is that they have a very low tolerance for noisy tenants. I have personally seen 3 different households evicted for being noisy and partying too much after hours. They also do a good job of being pro-​active against irresponsible dog owners, (ie. dogs off the leash, not picking up after dogs). I have had appliances in my unit give me trouble a few different times, (Stove went out, the sink has been clogged), and the maintenance crew usually responds within 24 hours.
Cons:
I would have given them 5 stars, except they do have a problem with the dumpsters getting overflowed very often, and they don’t seem to be looking into any kind of solution to that. And also the pool gets infested with non-​residents during the summer especially after the office has closed. We are the only facility nearby with a pool that is easy to break into, and local residents take advantage of that fact. Again it seems that no solution is even in the works.
Overall, I’m satisfied with the complex and would refer my friends and family (the referral bonus isn’t bad either!).

Needed a three month lease. Should have been easy, but no! Couldn’t get a move in walk through and the place wasn’t clean, so I did that my self. But after several calls and days I got Bevan to come by. He promised that I wouldn’t be charged any cleaning fees when I moved out. Bevan insisted that I at least let maintenance clean the base boards. Several calls and several days later maintenance came by and did a half ass job. So, I finished that job as well. Oh, then there was the furiture. Meridian took care of that with the same attention to quality and customer service. First it was the wrong furniture, then it was more delays. Even though I didn’t have a pet, Meridian gave me mice. I was thrilled that it took over two weeks for the pest guy to fix the problem. While I missed the little guy the smell of his body remained to keep me company from the A/​C vent.
I gave over thirty day notice, prior to leaving. I really cleaned the place up. So was I amazed that the kind folks at Meridian replaced the stove drip pans on a stove I never used. They even cleaned the carpets, did a general sanitizing and washed the A/​C vents.
This of course wasn’t charged to the mice, but to my security deposit. Alejandra explained that there was no real reason for this, it was just their policy and that they did this to everyone. She was also insistent that it was the law and in the lease contract.
Even when I pointed out the actual Civil Code section and the section they were violating on their own lease that stated that you can only be charged for damage beyond normal wear and tear, Meridian keeps up the fight.

Right off the bat I got a bad vibe from the staff. I walked in with my husband and son and one of the leasers just looked at us, I greeted her first, then she looked at me like she was bothered. I told her we are looking for an apartment to rent she replied very unprofessionally «okay, what’s your price range» as if we were bothering her… Didn’t offer us a seat. Anyway, as we took a tour of the apartment, she had an attitude the whole time and I caught her once or twice staring me down from head to toe judging me. I have never been treated this way. So unprofessional. She was wearing a tight dress and sandals.
I asked her a simple question and she responded with an attitude as well. The apartment itself was nice and affordable but I won’t move into an apartment where the staff can’t treat their tenants with respect.

Awesome apartment complex when we rented 3 years ago. Started going downhill after change of management and all the useless curb appeal upgrades. At the time was the the biggest 1bed1bath apartment at the best price. I hear rent has skyrocketed though

I hope they read this… I’m writing this on the behalf of my fiancé. We decided that we wanted move out and do a lease break fees at the apartment we’re staying at. We gave them a check in advance because we were getting ready for a vacation. We specifically told them «PLEASE DO NOT CASH THE CHECK OUT UNTIL WE RETURNED BACK». The very third day we called and CANCELLED the move out. (We have 10 days to do so). Once we called it seems like everything has been taking care of because they said they would cancel lease breaking contract.
Not only these people disregard what we have asked them to do but also decided it was fun to deposited the check anyhow. They deposited the check BEFORE we made that important call not to do so. Yes we know when you deposited the check Meridian. You don’t have to lie to us… Everything is all recorded and stated in the bank statement. Now we’re stuck more than half way across the United States with no money and need to get back home…

I moved to the Rocklin area just recently and these were the best apartments by far. My apartment was clean and in great condition. The office staff (Alejandra and Becca) are always very polite and professional and attend to any problem or question. The area is also very nice and close to everything you might need. My apartment is very quiet (along with my neighbors and the entire complex) and never have i experienced any bad things other people have mentioned here. Like with every apartment there are minor things here and there but you will see that everywhere and no reason to panic. Definitely recommend it.

Wow 2 of my reviews have been removed. BUGS BUGS BUGS. TRASH by your door stinks. Load non tenets breaking into the pool and nothing is done. Horrible service. Rip off for trash water and sewer btw I bought a 2100 square foot home my water bill has never bee 80 bucks so the teabags are paying for the over watering of the grounds. This place is smoke and mirrors of what luxury apartments are the only thing that is luxury about it is the price. DO NOT MOVE HERE UNLESS YOU LIKE SPIDERS, ANTS, AND A $$ HOLES

Thank you so much for bringing these items to my attention. What I would like to do is have my maintenance supervisor handle your request directly. If you’ve have maintenance technicians in your apartments a few different times and they’ve been unable complete the work orders then we need to go to the top. It sounds like the water dripping could be a few different things. The garbage disposal sounds like the line is clogged.
As for the oven, we may need to have an appliance repair technician come out if our maintenance supervisor is unable to troubleshoot it. In that event, we will let you know.
Anytime you bring a leak, minor or major, to our attention, we now have to treat this an an emergency and come in to investigate. I would like to get your permission to enter so that we can address this. If not, unfortunately, I will have to post a notice of our intent to enter your apartment and we will just go in.
Getting these items fixed for you so that you can enjoy your apartment home is my goal. I hope that I’m able to restore your faith in our community and make you happy. I hope to hear back from you today as I’d like to send Steve over today.

Zero stars should be an option and this place really deserves it. In the short time my wife and I have lived here we have had multiple instances of harassment from the apartment management. Our first issue was when we received a notice to enter dwelling which, if needed, wouldn’t be a problem except for the fact that when I contacted the management to request rescheduling they told me that they would not. I’ve had prior management companies request to enter previous units I’ve rented and requested a different mutually agreed upon date when I would be able to be present. They have always worked with me as I don’t feel comfortable having random people entering my dwelling and potentially stealing and/​or damaging my possessions, some of which are irreplaceable. This company however was not willing to work with me at all and told me that they would enter no matter what I did. As I did not feel comfortable I dead bolted the door that day and went through the extra hassle to keep my possessions safe and sound. Weeks later we received a second notice and again they were unwilling to reschedule. I told them they do not have my permission to enter and that I will file a police report for unlawful enter if they proceed. They entered and I filed a police report. Recently we received a notice (sticker on our car window) on our car that is parked in our assigned spot stating that they will tow the vehicle for it being dirty and having a jack under the front left wheel well. The jack was not noticeable from the street and was only there for a short amount of time as the tire was low on air and I haven’t had time to go air it up (know it doesn’t help much but just didn’t want the weight of the car sitting on the low tire potentially damaging it). I attempted to take the sticker off the vehicle but was unable to get it off and it left a huge mess on the portion I was able to get it off of. I work a 60+ hour a week job and have other responsibilities outside out work as well which alone is fairly stressful. This has put me over the top and I’ve been talking to my doctor about the pains I’ve been getting and constant fear I have from these people. I don’t know when they are going to enter my unit and how they are going to harass me next. I feel unsafe in my own home and have huge amounts of anxiety every time I have to go deal with them. To top it off, anytime I receive a package, which is fairly often, I have to go to the office to pick it up and almost have a panic attack each time I have to deal with them. The office is supposed to be open until 6pm, however, I have tried to pick up my packages before around 5 – 5:30pm and the office is already closed. I never know when the office will actually be open so that I can pick up my packages.
This may not be the situation for everyone and my wife and I could potentially be «targeted» by their harassment for whatever reason but from the other reviews it seems like this is a normal thing for them. I wish I read the reviews before I signed a lease here and I hope this helps someone else stay away from the heartache and stress that is living at the meridians.

Moved in February 2014. Stayed there 8 months. They even accommodated by extending our lease when our new apt wasn’t ready. Was a pleasant experience until we moved out. we got it cleaned professionally when moving out and still got charged 120 $ for «medium cleaning» saying it wasn’t up to their standards. That’s some crap, they wouldn’t honor the fact that I have the pictures of everything cleaned on move out. I will be paying 120 $ for cleaning and 50 $ for restoration for just 8 months of stay and maintaining it in the top condition and getting cleaned professionally :(didn’t know what else we could do apart from plainly forfeiting the deposit.
Unprofessional and rude after moving out!

Just moved in and I can tell my family and I will be very happy here. Its so quiet and peaceful. Becca in the front office is so friendly and helpful.
My neighbors are very lowkey, and the there are plenty of parking spaces always available.

I have recently moved into the meridian at Stanford ranch and had a long list of requirements, which they have met every single one, and have been so welcoming and kind. They truly care about every person and have taken time to know us and want a community between residents. Thank you so much for being amazing humans!

Move in was easy and painless. The apartment is quiet and I have a nice view. There is only a couple minor items I need them to correct and should be complete in 48 – 72 hours which is great and totally reasonable! I am looking forward to my stay here and using all the amenities that Meridian has to offer.

I’m a bay area transplant and found my home here at The Meridian. A one bedroom was surprisingly affordable when compared to bay area prices and the apartments are kept up well. The Meridian is a little more expensive when compared to other apartments on Sunset but that also discourages some of the riff-​raff of tenants that some of those cheaper places may accommodate. This is my 3^rd apartment (in a different apartment complex’s) and I must say my experience has been perfect.
The Apartment
I live on the first floor and I never hear my neighbor above and the neighbors on the sides. This is something I worried about because I’ve had bad experiences before at other places. My one bedroom apartment is spacious, no overhanging cabinets above the kitchen counter, and it offers plenty of natural light from all the windows. There’s plenty of space for storing your stuff such as a pantry, linen closet (in the bathroom), large walk-​in closet, and tall 6×6 locked room outside in the patio (great for storing bikes upright). The double pane windows keep it cool or warm without much use of heater/​ac (I do live on the first floor, so it may be a little
warmer above).
Guests
There is plenty of parking nearby and the grounds are well lit at night. The buildings are labeled with a building numbers for easier identification. Your guest can either type in your code (easier) or look you up in the directory which calls your cell phone so you can buzz them in.
Shipments
They are drop shipped to your door or if you ask the shipper they will leave the package (s) with the front office. The front office is happy to sign for them.
Parking
You get one assigned parking spot under a carport. Garages are available for less than $ 100 per month (at the time of this write up) if needed for an additional SMALL car or extra storage. (they are not very wide)
Amenities
The pool and spa are nice and kept up well. Theres a small fitness center that contains a few treadmills, led curl machine, flat bench, upright chest press, and some free weights with the heaviest at 35lbs. There’s also a car wash with a coin operated vacuum. There’s a kids playground and dog park next to it. I will say that this place is VERY PET FRIENDLY. There are poop bag stations throughout the complex and a fire road just below the complex in the wetlands. The fire road makes a good dog walk. You can also run the road to the end and you’ll end up at a paved path to California Family Fitness which is pretty cool. Quick warm up to the gym and cool down back to your apartment.
Utilities
You pay for your own PG&E (gas and electric) which for me runs about $ 90 per month. (1 bedroom) Again, I don’t run the AC or heater often. The water/​sewage/​trash are handled on a group basis based on the number of occupants. You pay the amount owed along with your rent. My water/​sewage/​trash usually runs a little less than $ 60 and I have 2 occupants including myself.
Misc Fees-​Changing Management
You pay a $ 10 fee per month for I’m assuming the little poop bags? which I will say was not originally quoted when I first looked at the place but I don’t care, it’s only 10 bucks. There’s also pet rent per animal which runs about $ 30 per month for me. As for changing management, it is not my concern. Everyone signs a contract that locks in obligations on both parties and so long as I keep up my end of the bargain and The Meridian does the same, I’m a happy tenant. They can shuffle the deck as many times necessary until they get it right. I’ve made a few requests (broken light in the kitchen, outlet, touch ups) and they came out with the quickness to repair it to my satisfaction.
Overall
I couldn’t ask for more at the price. In my line of work I’ve seen the insides of many different apartments and I will say The Meridian is hands down the nicest in Rocklin.

I am currently dealing with getting my deposit back after moving out, and that was the least of my concerns while living here. This is easily the worst management company I’ve ever had the — pleasure — of dealing with. It’s so bad here that they are constantly barraging you with incentives to have your friends move to the complex. Maybe they should ask you to encourage that ex you hate to move here.
If there were an option for zero stars, I would gladly give it!

I moved here before the new property management company bought the complex and it has gone down hill fast! One of their first orders of business was to get rid of security. I went to complain about a few incidents and their response when asked about why security is gone was «you should just call the cops, that’s what they are for.»
They are rude in the office and seem to have difficulty getting tenants their water bills because we alwasy have to go ask for it now, and so do other residents. One of our neighbors had lived in the complex for years and moved out rather than renewing her lease this time, I will be doing the same. It is unfortunate because it was a nice place to live until the new company came in a few months ago
