I wanted to come and get some stuff framed, since I’m in the area several days out of the week because my kid does gymnastics a few doors down. However the day I decided to bring a ton of artwork to get priced for framing, the parking lot was really packed. Luckily there was ONE spot right in front of the store, so I pulled in. Before I could even turn my car off, the owner of this establishment ran out to tell me that I was NOT allowed to park in THAT space(mind you there’s no sign designating that space as his own), because it was reserved for«customers only». Now, I don’t know how he came to the conclusion that I must not have been a customer before I had a chance to step out of the car, but I have a few ideas. He insisted that I could not park in that spot because I would block actual customers from coming to his shop. Well, that turned me right off. I had at least 10 paintings in the back of my Volvo that I had planned to bring in, however he made it VERY clear that my business wasn’t good enough. So I kindly backed out of his funk a** parking spot for which he does NOT pay for, and found another frame shop. And I could not have been happier. Which brings me today… as I was turning into the parking lot to drop my kid off for practice, I witness the SAMEOWNER of the frame shop accosting the mother of my daughter’s teammate. He actually had the nerve to physically BUMP her with his body, because he said she was making too much noise outside of his shop. She, along with a few of us had been honking at a truck driver who was blocking the entrance. And the owner of this establishment took it upon himself to single out the only other black woman in the crowd of several other parents, and threatened her. Even some of the other parents were bothered by his treatment of this woman, and said very plainly that they too believed it was because she was black. I even have his disgusting behavior on video. I was horrified. I’m disgusted that business owner would treat someone the way I saw this woman being treated. He was in a complete rage, because people were honking at a truck driver in the parking lot that had NOTHING to do with his business. He came out of that shop and put his nose where it didn’t belong. He is a disgusting person. Yet, now I’m glad I didn’t spend my money at this establishment weeks ago. And now I understand why he assumed I wasn’t a customer.

I am very happy with my final result. I had a very cool limited edition serigraph by Agam called«Magic Rainbow». The piece was really big measuring 48X40 unframed. I arrived to the store after work towards the closing time. We spent a long time choosing the right frame and the matting. After everything was selected I paid and left. When I came to pick up my piece I noticed that the glass had a lot of glare and since it was going into a really sunny room it was not the right choice for me. I called the owner and he upgraded my glass to a non glare conservation glass at no extra cost. Moreover since the piece was over-sized it would not fit inside my sedan, the owner offered to deliver the piece at no extra cost and even helped my husband put it up on the wall. My favorite piece looks great! I am very happy. No-one is perfect but it’s how the problem was handled won me over.

Framing: not cheap, but very high quality. The art gift I had framed now looks quite stunning with a dark chestnut frame. Spencer spent an entire hour helping me when I initally went in — we looked at many different frame options. If you have original art that’s important to you, and wish to have it expertly framed, A TO Z «Spencer«is a great choice!

Spencer is the best! He has the most amazing eye for framing and matting artwork perfectly! He is a fabulous businessman who cares about making customers happy! My only regret is that it took us so many years to find Spencer and that most of our artwork has subpar framing! I wish I could afford to have him reframe everything in our house!

I found out about this business through a val-pak coupon mailer. The staff seemed very competent and helped me choose nice, yet affordable frames. I was really pleased with the paintings I had framed. The hours of operation are not listed on the window, so it was hard to know when I could come back to pick it up. I don’t have a car so a friend gave me a ride to pick up for 4 pieces from 2 orders. Two pieces from my original order were not ready(it was a few days past the 2 week date that was promised). I explained to the gentleman I didn’t have to a car to get back until the weekend, he offered to drop off the unfinished pieces when they were done. That evening he dropped off the items, which was a big help! There work looks great and they have a huge selection. The gentleman gave me ideas for framing things from my wedding. I just caution you to call before picking up the items.

This place is amazing! I had a hole-in-one shadow box made and was literally astonished by how great it looked– especially for the price I paid. The owner was incredibly friendly and gave me an amazing discount. I could not have had this done for a better price anywhere else– especially with this attention to detail. I also needed it right away for a birthday gift and they went above and beyond and had it done for me in less than 24 hours. I would recommend this place in a heartbeat and would completely ignore the negative reviews– you will not be disappointed here!

If $ 399 is too much for three standard size photos, the gentleman at the counter will advise you to go to Target. Hey buddy, «the more time you spend talking the more expensive it’ll be»? How about«the more time YOU spend talking the fewer stars you’ll get on Unilocal».

This guy is great! He knows his craft and is on point with his work! I have yet to be disappointed with his work! I have had both my undergrad and graduate diplomas framed by him along with my other friends! I’d recommend him! But make sure if you have a deadline you let him know!

Just got another painting(of beautiful New Orleans) framed. I won’t reveal my discount amount because it was truly beyond fair on Spencer’s part. The triple mat and rustic frame fits so well I don’t want to even recall what the painting looked like without the gorgeous framework. Once again, Spencer patiently went through a slew of colors, arrangements, and styles to my liking as well as politely offering me suggestions of what works well. Now I just want to pour a glass of wine and stare. This made my day! Note: I am not an art connoisseur or aspire to be one but I do know what I like. And A to Z will guide you along every step of the way.

Excellent customer service. Spent a lot of time helping me pick out a great frame for my Obama Inaugural tickets and newspapers and even offered to reframe my 2009 version at no extra cost so they matched. Even better than the superb customer service was the perfect result. Thanks! Look forward to coming back here.

I’ve gotten things framed at a lot of places over the years, and I can easily say that A to Z Art & Framing is the best. Their work is extremely high quality and their prices are fantastic. Spencer, the owner, treats every piece I’ve ever brought in as if it were his own. Without question, you should come to A to Z for any and all of your framing needs.

I’ve never ben to the place but I called to get an estimate over the phone and the person i talked to was pretty nasty. Maybe I caught him at a bad time but really turned me off, which is a shame because the store is very close to my house. my 2 cents.

These guys are amazing! I was quoted twice as much at places like Michael’s and AC Moore and for twice the turn around time – these guys are doing beautiful framing for me(a grad student on a budget who still needs a beautiful framing job) in 4 days at a fantastic price. They’ll negotiate a fair and kind price!

I almost never post to Unilocal, but this is one is too important(and too infrequently reviewed) to stay on the sidelines. NEVERBUY A GROUPONORLIVINGSOCIALOFFERFORTHISSTORE. NOTE: I firmly believe that the owner posted the five star review above. Unilocal staff, if you’re reading this, please consider removing the top review by «Dave G». My experience. I purchased a $ 125 groupon for $ 45. I asked for a ballpark quote on the phone and was sharply told«you have to come in,», so i made the 45 minute drive from DC. After telling Spencer exactly what i wanted done(one piece of work mounted behind glass), he quicly added on a number of extra, complicated steps and told the the job would cost $ 300. After 15 minuts of persuading him that i really do know what i want, we came back to what i had originally asked for and he quoted me $ 75. I should be clear that at NO point did he mention giving me a «deal» or a «discount». When it came time to pay, i told him i wanted to use a Groupon. He Immeidately flew into a rage, and told me i was trying to cheat him and that the price, if i wanted to use the groupon, would be $ 169(almost $ 100 more than the quote). I quickly packed up the item i had brought(while he continuted to verbally harrass me) and left the store. He followed me to my car. I got in, locked the doors, and drove to the other side of the parking lot to re-pack my item. He walked across the parking lot, still yelling. I locked the doors and drove away. Final note: I’ll be asking for a refund from Groupon.

The owner under-quoted to get me down here. Then he raised the price(nearly double), and couldn’t explain the difference as we kept with a simple(and small) frame and no mat. He was rude to his staff, often demeaning them in front of us and he was rude to both my wife and I. It was a colossal waste of time and a terrible experience. Other custom framers can do the same job for the same amount of money with better service. So unless your only other price point is Michaels, you can do better… *** An update to this: Went to AC Moore the day after the incident and they quoted(in writing) nearly $ 150 less than this guy for the same work. *** How did this company get a double listing?

I have been really happy using A to Z in the past. When they had a Living Social and then a Groupon, I jumped to buy one so I could get even more of a discount. The pricing is fair, the owner is experienced and friendly. The review left with one star is an attempt to smear the ratings of this place.
