I’m cracking up at the other users experience… being kicked out of the liquor store for stealing secrets. There is nothing secret about a liquor store? What would we report. Everyone, I did my research, this is too secret but Belby’s beer and wine sells beer and wine *gasp*. Earth shattering –_​_​-​The most shocking thing about the place is they sell pre chilled moet. Who does that?
No but really, the owner is a lunatic, which makes the other person’s review that much more hilarious. I told my husband last night when we left that the owner comes off as someone who is involved in human trafficking or something so the whole «business secrets» thing kind of fits with that image.
Anyways, the liquor closes to the corner of 1st and rockville pike is waaaayyy better but they have terrible hours. I’m officially done with Belby’s. The owner is rude and their stuff is overpriced! They can kick corkscrews with open toed sandals.

We love this place! Tried it based on the reviews and it totally lived up to it. As soon as we walked in the cashier asked if my son could have a candy. I thought it was great that he gave it to him and even better that he asked first. What beer shop does that!!!
I have a two tap kegerator so was skeptical they would have the beer I wanted in 1⁄6 barrel size that I need. They had Sam Adams winter lager available immediately and were able to order Kona Big Wave for me and have it in less than a week!
Needless to say, I’ll be getting all my kegs here from now on!

Belby’s is literally packed with a variety of beer and wine… not much room to maneuver around, but you are more than likely to find what you want here. Service is always friendly and helpful (the owner is hilarious!). Prices are good and comparable (if not a little cheaper) to other beer and wine stores in the area. Upon checkout you will be asked if you need assistance to your car and given some type of mini candy to snack on on your ride home. Parking is rather sparse with only a few spots out in front, but people are usually in and out in now time. Belby’s is a great find along the Pike!

I made a sort of special trip because of the reviews. They do cram a good variety in a small shop… but I got two six packs of craft brew and two bombers and it set me back…62 bucks?! Are you kidding?! I feel like I was punished for my tastes. I don’t care where you are located…18 dollars per six pack is ridiculous. 3 dollars per beer. I could pay a dollar more for a draft pour in a bar and at least I could shoot the breeze with friends and watch the ball game. I just feel robbed. One extra star for the variety and smiles… but my wallet was beaten around. I know where the better deals are.

«GET OUT OF MY STORE!»
Why??? I have been a repeat, almost weekly customer with Belby’s for 5 years now. I really liked the convenience of his store hours, and the selection was pretty good. I even referred friends and family to this establishment. On my last visit, out of nowhere, the owner walked up to me and cussed me out. He accused me of «stealing secrets» about his business and claimed I was related to his «competitors» because I was texting on my phone. What I was really doing was looking at calories and reviews on a new beer I saw. I am not related to any of his competitors… So random! «Get out of my store. Get out or I will call the police.» I have no idea why, and to be honest I thought he liked me. As a customer, I am hurt and confused. If you like this store, and you are treated right, please enjoy it. Goodbye, Belbys. I will be taking ALL of my business away from you. Good luck with the rest of yours. Peace.

Belby has one of the best beer selections in Rockville. It is a common site for us to stop and grab beer. I wish their white wine selection had a little more variety.

Hands-​down, one of the best locations to grab craft beer in Rockville. But don’t miss it (the beer, not the store). Make a super sharp right turn immediately upon entering the store. And then boom, so many amazing craft beers! Unfortunately, prices aren’t labeled very well, so it’s sometimes a surprise as to what you’re going to pay. But as far as the selection goes, you really can’t beat it. And such a nice Korean family owns the place (I’m assuming they own it). Enjoy your complimentary Chiclets you get for showing your ID :)

Love belbys, come here for anything drink related. If you want a cold thirty, you have to ask for it. Done people don’t know this. Also, they gave great customer Kwon is awesome. He always remembers my name and what I buy. Talk about superior management lol.

Belby’s used to be my go-​to beer store when I lived up in Rockville. It think it’s still my mother’s go to beer and wine store as well. They have a great hours, great prices, and great staff. The store is small and is now even a little more cramped by boxes that are sitting on the floor in front of the shelves– which is why I took one star away.
Other than the cramped-​ness– the selection is pretty good and staff there is super helpful. I was asked if I could be helped almost the moment I walked in. After the gentlemen tried to help me and I continued to look around– the gentlemen at the counter asked if I needed help. Great customer service!
They do sell kegs! They need a little advance notice but they do it.
They always have something on special — don’t let appearences decieve you. This shop is a great little diamond in the rough.

Got two six packs of Flying Dog but rung up high at the register. Ask for a receipt to check the price and I was charged just two dollars extra. The owner stated that the price is clearly marked and if it was wrong he would give me the money back. When I took him to the case and showed him hetried to argue with me then dismissed it and said he put them in the wrong place. Price still good but customer service not good. Too many beer and wines around to be treated poorly.

I love this place. Unbeatable selection and prices. Crazy friendly staff that offers great suggestions.
I went in looking for a particular chardonnay (Cameron Hughes Lot 238), which is no longer made. The owner told me to try a different wine which he said was similar. I was skeptical, but of course gave it a go… what a wise choice! He knew exactly what he was talking about.
Favorite beer and wine store in Montgomery County, by far.

Great eclectic collection of beers, from micro-​, nano– & major breweries, foreign, domestic & local (MD, VA, DC), cans + bottles, all sizes at 500−750ml, 4, 6, 12 & 24-​packs, and prices are moderate for the cheap suds (Coors, Corona, etc.) but more pricey for the fancy (as expected in MoCo).
It’s a family-​owned establishment who are really nice — when a particular winter brew I liked was out of stock, the owner personally ordered it for me from his distributor, right there on the spot on the phone, I couldn’t ask for better service. They are always very friendly and readily able to answer my questions regarding the new brews in season.
They also have a decent selection of wine, however their awesome brew selection keeps me from venturing onto their other shelves.

I love this place! I get a prize for showing my ID! Anywhere that gives out prizes is OK in my book.
Ok, seriously, this place has a great selection of everything! I was looking for a certain beverage that is literally no where, and, they had it!
Also — after that freak storm in June of this year, the Derecho, Belby was one of the only places on Rockville Pike that still had ice by the time I got around to buying some. They were SO friendly, and, unlike some places, they left the price of ice as it was always, something like $ 3 a bag when they could have absolutely taken advantage of people and charged like $ 20 per bag.
I will continue to do business with Belby! Good people!

Pretty much ANY commercial beer or basic wine that you would ever want and at reasonable prices! I remember the old days where I even got kegs from them!
PLUS, come lottery time, the owner’s daughter even reminded everyone in line that the pot is up to xxxxx million! HA HA… Who was I to say NO?
I hope that the next big lottery ticket is sold by Belby’s! They deserve the big commission check that they would get!
Easy parking and easy to get in and out of on Rockville Pike!
