Established in 2001.

Happy Feet Reflexology opened in 2001. For over a decade, we have been helping our clients relax and unwind in a clean, comfortable and calming environment. We are part of Timothy’s Salon & Spa, which was originally a nail salon but grew to include hair and spa services as well. The Happy Feet Reflexology service has always been a favorite amongst clients, allowing them to relax and forget about their stresses. We are proud of the great reputation we have earned over the years, and look forward to serving Rockville for many years to come.

As Owner of Happy Feet Reflexology, Timothy goes out of his way to make your experience as enjoyable as possible. He originally started the business as a nail salon, and provided exceptional manicure and pedicure services for over 14 years. He realized that his customers wanted more, so he added hair salon and spa services to the business as well. Now he has made Timothy’s Spa & Salon and Happy Feet Reflexology a one-​stop-​shop for all of your spa and beauty needs.

I’ve had over five different masseuse, and everyone has been amazing. They don’t like «special request» as far as targeting areas of massage, and trust me, it’s because they have a method… And their method is awesome. Very holistic! The price is unbeatable for the quality.
The service is superb and no one is pushy about getting a tip. I highly recommend buying the package of 6, you save the price of one massage when doing so.

Honestly, I’ve never been much of a massage gal. It’s super nice, but I have just never thought of getting my back pounded as a necessary health expenditure… until now.
My mother had the fantastic sense to buy a groupon for a massage at Happy Feet way back when. Groupons usually don’t work out as you expect and often you never go back. Happy Feet was different.
Sounds like a foot message, right? Think again. This is a full body massage that literally includes the tips of your fingers. Over the course of an hour every single one of your muscles will be coaxed into total relaxation and you’ll walk out as if you’ve awoken from the deepest sleep of your life. They use a mixture of acupuncture and reflexology which has done wonders for my back.

I have been a loyal patron of Happy Feet since it opened. I go there every other week. Each massage therapist is different, so be sure to speak up and tell him/​her the amount of pressure you would like. I am completely loyal to Lisa and Lucy and while I go in feeling tense and sore, I walk out like a new person — completely relaxed and in no more pain. I use this service also to relieve a lot of my tension headaches.

More like smelly feet!!! I tried this place out after stressed from my college midterms but this place only stressed me out more! It was dirty and my therapist kept coughing and then touching me. The place wS painted an ugly color which I focused on during the massage cause they didn’t cover my eye and my therapist smelt like an ash tray. If I wanted to smell an ash tray i would rent a smoking room at a hotel !!! I don’t even want to give 1 star

I went here to get some fake lashes removed– I had a terrible experience at another establishment (Clartiy Medispa! Don’t go there!) and I called in a near panic because I looked like a tranny mess and had to go to work. I had tried buying lash glue remover and taking them off myself but it burned like a mother and I was pulling out lashes, not to mention it was largely ineffective. The technician told me he could get me in in 15 minutes. The place had a very calm and relaxing atmosphere, and my technician was super gentle. He had the lashes off in no time, with no pulling or burning. I can’t tell you how grateful I am. I highly reccomend this place, and I plan to go back for a massage soon!

So the pros of this place are it is really reasonable for a massage. $ 45 for an hour I believe it was?
That said, I realized that the experience varies depending on the masseuse, however myself and a bunch of my friends walked out of this place feeling like we just had the crap beat out of us. Admittedly I am no expert on reflexology, and maybe I just have spoken up sooner to request less pressure, but maybe it was the quiet room with 8 other people in it, or I was just waiting for it to get better, or I’m a wimp, but I didn’t. I cringed and stiffened through the entire hour.
The massage was definitely thorough, working up my entire body and parts were really great, just the fist and elbow work (beatings) and stuff with wooden tools? was not my style. I literally walked out of there convinced I was waking up covered in bruises the next day.
So yeah I know some people are really into deep massages like that but I probably won’t be back… or if I am, I will speak up sooner!

I recently had an appointment with Lee, for an acne facial. I have never had such a wonderful experience with a facial before. I felt I needed to sign up on Unilocal to give him 5 stars. Lee took his time, he educated me on how better to take care of my skin. When doing extractions, I didn’t feel a thing. When he was finished, my face wasn’t red or irritated. I left Happy Feet feeling amazing. My skin has never been better since having this facial with Lee. I will go back in a month for another facial with him. He took all the stress out of my face. I highly recommend Lee for facials at Happy Feet.

Perhaps I’m not a reflexology expert, but I think I’ve had plenty in my lifetime in Asia and USA to know what to expect. Needless to say, I wouldn’t repeat this if the past experience weren’t pleasurable. This brings to my spontaneous decision to try out Happy Feet at 9:45am on my off day yesterday.
I did my homework and read up on Unilocal and the overall reviews were positive. I checked in and I have to say, the reception area wasn’t so nice. Regardless, I was desperate for some relaxation and pampering so I decided to proceed ahead.
I followed my masseuse into the shared massage room and I thought it looked pretty decent. Surely, i wasn’t expecting any 4* experience. I just wanted a good massage.
The foot massage itself was alright but what proceeded was unexpected when I obediently flipped onto my belly. The masseuse was beating on me and kneading into my knots and bones with a vengeance. I cringed. I shriveled up. I tried to tough it out.
However, I didn’t feel any better after… Nor a day later. In fact, I think my back is all bruised up. Grrrrrrr…
Definitely not venturing back here again. I’d rather go to Nirvana, which has higher standards and a consistent routine.

I’m giving Happy Feet a 3 because I’ve had really great massages there… and some not-​so-​good ones.
LISA is the best one so far… pressure was great, she worked on my knots, and she was very accommodating. I don’t remember any of the other names, except Yang, who I did not really care for. He knew what he was doing, but he used sticks and other «tools» that hurt! Obviously, some people enjoy that, but it was not for me. I am open to all ways of massage (and have gotten massages regularly for years), but it did not feel good to me.
My advice is to let the receptionist know what type of pressure/​style you want… this will hopefully help you find your masseuse match.

What a great reflexology massage I got. I’m sure it depends on your masseuse. I had Yang and he was great… that is if you like it hard. He really got my knots and I felt so relaxed.
The place reminded of places I used to go for massages in Thailand. You don’t get a room of your own but the ambience was still really nice and cozy. Still felt private enough. Oh and you don’t undress at all so you really don’t need that extra privacy. Place felt clean too. And staff seemed professional.
Some of the massage techniques may seem odd if you are used to western salons but they really felt so relieving.
Will definitely return.

I truly enjoyed my Signature Reflexology massage with Mey. It was one of the best massages I’ve had. She started with my hands and arms, then worked on legs and feet for half an hour. The final 15 minutes were elbow and knee pressure on my back and it felt amazing. The few minutes she spent on my shoulders and upper back were also a treat. Afterwards, I was relaxed and so pleased this this Groupon experience, I can’t wait to go back. I hope I get the 6 pack massage offer as a birthday present!
Only negatives for some may be the «group”-style room, with a dozen or more lounge chairs with ottomans and cloth dividers hanging from the ceiling, but you stay clothed the entire time and it is very dim and soothing, though the music was ecclectic. Also didn’t enjoy one of the masseuses taking her lunch break and crunching away nearby, when I was not stationned next to the back room.

I will travel for a good massage and Happy Feet is definitely worth the trip.
According to Google Maps and the WMATA website, it takes an hour and some change to travel from NW DC to Happy Feet in Rockville. However, it takes two hours when four stations on the red line are shut down for weekend track work and you have to hop on and the metro for shuttle buses. I was 30 minutes late to my appointment, but after I explained that I was coming from downtown DC, Happy Feet was understanding enough to not shorten and cancel my appointment.
My massage therapist was named Pen, an Asian guy who looked like he’s in his early 20’s. The full-​body massage was great, but the reflexology was mediocre – it was more of an awesome foot massage, but I’ve had better reflexology before. The massage bed was very comfortable and I especially love the soft throw he put over me. The music was a little strange – not your usual spa, new age, or sounds of nature. Instead, it was instrumental versions of popular Chinese songs.

I came her with my Groupon deal for a Signature Massage, which consists of a full body massage for an hour. When I first walked in… I walked into a tiny sitting area with a plug in water fountain inscents burning and some little Asian figurines… I think it was trying to give off the impression of a very Zen like feeling… I did not get this feeling. I was feeling slightly awkward because I was about to have a person touch my feet for a whole hour which grossed me out for the person about to encounter my feet.
After about a minute my masseuse takes me back. The whole room is dim and is filled with ottomans lining both walls. I could make out a couple of people but was more focused on not making a sound. I am unfortunately sat near the back hallway. My masseuse insists on taking off my shoes and rolling up my pants and I’m thinking «wow this chick moves fast» she puts my feet in warm water I feel there are stones at the bottom. I wonder if this is part of my relaxation but notice its just there to be there. Once I lay down she covers me with a warm blanket and an eye pillow that smells of lavender. She works her way up by massaging my feet. Once I’m relaxed I hear a funny awkward slapping noise that u you would hear in a porn flick… I can’t make out the noise so I try to relax some more. Than the slapping noise comes back but this time it’s me and I realize she’s slapping my legs. I then hear people in the hallway talking and the buckets of water being emptied as the stones fall out clattering into the sink. This all last an hour maybe more or less… it was a nice massage for a Groupon deal. I didn’t relax too much with all the background noise… if you do go… try to get a spot in the middle away from the back or front. Their Signature Massage also went down to $ 49 not bad for an hour.

I went here for their eyelash service that I had a Groupon for. I have had it done once before years ago at another location but I had a bad experience with them post-​application. I had not returned because it normally costs $ 250 for a full new set and the eyelashes looked so ridiculously fake (and painful when washing my face) that I was scared to do it again. I took a chance because this was such a good deal ($ 100 for the entire service).
I told Lee what had happened to me the first time I had this done and he took every concern of mine into consideration. Though it took an hour and half to apply, I noticed that he used several things that I had not experienced the first time around. Which made me more comfortable that he was well-​trained. He made my lashes look more natural in the front and a little of a flare on the edges. It was great. I initially was shocked at how lucious and full they looked because normally, I don’t even put on mascara. The room was separate from all the massages, which seemed to be separated by a curtain AND i walked through the massage room to get to the eyelash application room.
I have since called back to get a touch-​up which are $ 70. It is definitely worth it! I’ll have to try out their massages sometime.

I discovered this place after I purchased a Groupon. My experience was so positive that I purchased a 6 pack, and also took my mom here for Mother’s Day and have recommended the place to my friends. Of course your experience will vary slightly based on the masseuse you have and your own personal preferences. I have had about 5 different masseuses and have had positive experiences with all of them.
I was there this past Sunday and this rude customer made a huge stink about how she couldn’t get the masseuse she wanted because she had a Groupon or something or other. So my only negative comment about this place is that there is only a curtain separating the massage area and the reception area. They should put a door for customers like this. She was yelling so loudly about how she wanted the business owners to be humiliated that everyone in the entire place could hear her. Seriously put a damper on my relaxing massage experience but the owner apologized profusely, and my massage was good so no major complaints.
I would highly recommend Happy Feet.

I have a little gripe about the name — although the name happy feet is super cute, had I known that they actually do more than just feet I probably would have come here instead of going to Nirvana on my most recent ‘Mental Health Day’. Then, I wouldn’t have let my grouping expire and I wouldn’t have had to pay $ 15 extra for having missed the expiration by TWO DAYS.(It does say FOOT MASSAGE on the window too… come on, if you do more than that, you should say so!)
Anyway, unfavorable business practices aside, I think it is fitting to do a comparison of Happy Feet and Nirvana as they are competing reflexology spas in the Rockville area.
Happy Feet wins on:
Feel of massage — I enjoyed the amount of pressure and the motions better here.
Happy feet loses on:
Ambiance: too much light and too much noise. Even with the eye mask on, I was very aware of my surroundings. That’s probably mostly because of the amount of random talking and other sounds I would hear, interrupting my relaxation experience. Not sure how Nirvana is sooo much quieter, even though they have an identical set up to Happy Feet. As part of the massage, they’d do some smacking/​chopping motions. I felt like if I had to listen to one more client being smacked by their therapist, I’d run over and smack the therapist. It was a big disturbance.
Customer service: I already mentioned the extra $ 15 charge, where they really could have let that slide for a potential repeat customer. I also feel like they pay more attention to detail at Nirvana — going so far as to help you put your socks and shoes on at the end of your massage. Here, my therapist ran off after handing me a cup of water, and I was left sitting and waiting for anyone to walk by so they could help me find my glasses!
I ended up deciding on Nirvana as my massage place of choice — I think it’s a much better deal (especially now that I bought the ten pack of certificates for $ 380!!)
