Unfortunately once Monarch Med Spa has your money for laser hair removal treatments, they do not follow up on the progress of your treatments. Additionally, the staff forgot to mention that the Rockville location will be under construction for two months when I was last there there 2 weeks ago. I happened to find out as I tried for a few hours to get through to the appointment desk. I finally contacted the Timonium office to only find out that the location is under construction. I asked why no one mentioned to me that the location is under construction, and the sales rep just asked me who I spoke with. I find the staff to be aloof and extremely careless. Good luck if you decide to purchase laser hair removal treatments at Monarch Med Spa. This is not the service I would expect after spending a few thousand dollars.

Much to my dismay, I feel obligated to downgrade my original review. After my 3rd treatment, which yes, hurt much more than the first 2, I came away with red welts which later turned into burns. And not just a few burns, but 20 or so round circles. It looks like I was attacked with a curling iron. The burns are way more visible than the hair I had/have. Of course, I’m upset about the soon to be scars, but infinitely more upset by how this was(mis)handled by the previously helpful staff at Monarch. 1) I called initially about my burns and was told that I could get a prescription for a skin bleaching cream to make the marks go away. If you’ve ever used skin bleaching, you know it doesn’t work. There’s practically no cure for scarred skin. 2) Clearly, I wanted to cancel my last 3 sessions since I’d be stupid to risk getting more burns. I called 3 times and left several voice messages and did not get a return call. By the 4th time, I finally reached a person(Melissa) but she was not able to tell me how to get my money back. Instead, she asked me if I was still using the cream(WTF) and that she would call me back. She didn’t. 3) When I called again later that week, she finally told me about the«Monarch policy» which means essentially that I cannot get all of my money back. I would only be able to get a small portion($ 150 instead of the $ 500). I reminded her that since I was burned I would not pay for more burns. I asked to speak to her manager. He’s not in. Apparently he’s been on a very long vacation because I haven’t been able to reach him for 3 wks. 4) Finally, out of frustration, I went to the office to pick up a copy of the contract I signed to see if there was anything I could do to speed along the refund process. The contract says to request my refund in writing within 60 days of last treatment. I was not given an address — only the email for Melissa. So, I sent an email request a week ago and have not received a response yet. Quick Summary: This place is VERY sketchy. Don’t expect to see that great customer service beyond the first day. Don’t pay for these people to burn you. Go elsewhere. Oh yeah, I still have hair.
