Have been a customer for 15 years and have never had a bad experience. Everyone is friendly, professional, and talented. Love Sandra for hair, and Kelly does the best brows in town. Customer service is top notch.

Liz is an amazing stylist. I love my hair cut and she was so patient with my mom who was an «unusual» client. Will definitely be coming back to her. She earned a loyal client.

I’ve been a hair model for Eunice twice, and both times have been a wonderful experience! Eunice is modern and extremely talented! She always takes great care of her clients, and is willing to try new things, under her recommendations of course.
From the front desk staff to the stylists, everyone is friendly and approachable! I am especially impressed by how supportive all the stylists are of each other and how much the more experienced stylists invest in teaching the newer stylists. From an outsider/client’s perspective, it seems like they have a great teaching program here. All the stylists seem to be well-​rounded (skilled in cuts, color, styling, you name it) and open-​minded!
I recommend this salon to everyone, you will not regret it and I’m sure that you won’t be looking for any other salon after you visit Progressions!

Diego is a wonderful stylist. He saved my battered and wanna be «undercut». He was very knowledgeable and offered tips for my recovery. It was perfect timing because I had engagement photos coming up. Also my fiancé got a blow out by Eunice, who was great to her. Her hair looked perfectly styled and curled and Eunice treated her with much care and attention. Five stars all around for service and care. A bit pricey for a men’s cut but worth it.

I’ve been in transition with finding a new hair place. I used to go to a place in Kentlands religiously for almost 7 years, but then I moved to Silver Spring and the distance became more and more challenging with my schedule piling up. My friend recommended this salon because she was friends with Eunice, who works at the salon.
Upon entering, I was taken aback by how nice and clean the salon was. It was truly a very large salon, but it still felt cozy, inviting, quiet, not overly loud, and elegant. On the outside, I would not have guessed. I was greeted, Eunice took her time with my haircut, and I had a fantastic experience. I told her about how I had tried other local salons around here, but none had had such a last impression for me to stay. The consequence of that is bouncing around and having multiple people cut your hair not to your liking. I think this may be my new home salon for awhile :-)
They also have a lot of products on sale and they are products i have not seen before and can buy at Target. I’ve been to salons where they sell Bed Head or Redkin (sp?), most of these can be bought elsewhere, but here, they seemed like really good quality products and the prices were fair. I left with some goodies. I had to forcibly remove myself because they also had bracelets, which looked really nice. If I had stayed any longer, it would have been dangerous.
All in all, a great experience. I look forward to going back!

I’ve been going to Pam on and off for about 7 years. She is amazing. I stray every now and then when I want to find someone cheaper, but end up going back to her to fix my hair. Sorry Pam! Lol. She’s great with my daughter’s hair as well, and my daughter has more hair on her head than two people. Definitely worth the price. They also offer nail services and waxing. I’m going to tell you what I learned the hard way… you get what you pay for.

Progressions is your one stop shop for all your beauty needs! I received a coupon for winning a prize at a special event in Rockville Town Center and decided to finally put it to good use. I called the day of (and on a Saturday), to schedule an appointment and Laura was so friendly on the phone! I had several services I needed, and we were able to get back to back appointments.
When I entered the salon, I received a tour and was offered snacks and beverages. I then waited about 5 – 10 min for Julia for a hair consultation. Decided to move forward with an ombré look. Julia was nice and we made the usual small talk (work, Rockville, etc.) The color turned out great! Then went to shampoo/​wash my hair with Eunice. Eunice was amazing and made my hair look so glamorous.
I then got my eyebrows tinted and waxed with Danielle — very easy to talk to. I was a little disappointed by how thick and dark my eyebrows came out, but when I went home, I used a little make-​up remover to wipe off the excess powder. The shape was perfect though.
I then had a pedicure with Phanniya (sp?) — very professional and sweet as well. I really liked how everyone knew what my schedule was with the back to back appointments and that it went smoothly!
I will definitely be back at this salon for an ombré touchup and will try a manicure.

So… a little history first. I had stop going to salons to get color and/​or highlites over 6. Years ago. I’m SUPER picky, OCD and crazy when it comes to my hair. On a whim I decided to go and get highlites and miraculously got in with an AMAZING Hair Designer!!! Her name is Iris and she is truly the BEST!!! I have never gotten highlites as beautiful and perfect as the ones she did for me. She is a perfectionist and had a great personality. She will advise what’s best for your hair but doesn’t insist on what she would prefer. She allows you to make the final choices for your hair. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HER!!! You will be so happy and won’t regret it. I posted a before and after pic below. The after is after a second round of partial highlites and color.

Very busy salon. I think this will be my new go-​to salon. The staff are friendly and the spa area has a nice ambiance.

It’s not easy to find someone who is a perfectionist when it comes to eyebrow waxing, but Progressions has such a person. Enter Danielle! She takes her time and tends to every detail, making sure that your brows are absolutely perfect. Let’s face it– brows are important! They can make a huge difference in how your face looks and how polished and put-​together you appear. Danielle gets it, and her attention and technique provides the «wow» factor your face deserves!

Great salon! The accommodated me right away and I just love how my hair looks right now. Will be back.

I had gone through several salons prior to a friend recommending Progressions. This is, by far, the best. I always get compliments on my hair and all I have to do is show a few pictures of what I’m hoping for and it’s done. My short cut even grows out well. I haven’t tried their other services so can only comment on haircuts, but that alone will keep me coming back forever. Highly recommended.

I’ve been going to Progressions for a few years now for my hair and facials. Recently they’ve added body scrubs to their spa menu. I decided to try one with Danielle and it was amazing. It’s always nice to get a little pampering for yourself. The scrub was very relaxing and my skin felt baby smooth after. Danielle used products from Eminence Organic Skincare. The scrub is followed by a wonderful massage using a subtly scented moisturizer. I highly recommend going to Danielle and trying out the body scrub at Progressions.
They also have the shower in the same room so you don’t ever have to leave the room to get your body scrub.

$ 45 to REMOVE a gel manicure is HIGHWAY ROBBERY! I refuse to set foot back in this place based on that fact alone.
I’ve seen at least two different stylists for cut and color, and have always left feeling underwhelmed.

First timer, was totally willing to shell out the money for a level 5 but they didn’t have anyone but a level 2 for my short notice late evening haircut. I took it cause I was majorly due for a revamp. Salon is very clean, organized, and they even have a kids room with a door and tv (good to know for the future). The receptionist was very friendly and showed me around and offered me refreshments. Was seen by Kim Milligan and I’m beyond happy. I should have taken a before picture because now I feel like one of those shampoo commercial girls. I scheduled my next appointment as I left because I think I may have found the one. Yay for my hair.

I called Saturday morning as I found I had the day off (yahoo)!!! and they were more than happy to take me as they had a cancellation. I was lucky enough to get Kellye Pham to do my color, highlights and cut. It was the end of the day but she didn’t mind staying a little later to make sure everything was perfect. She even had the good graces to explain (in non-​hair-​stylist terms) how to dry my hair so it will look as good as when she did it. And you know what? It works!
I came in to work a few days later and got rave reviews and compliments.

*Note, they are a little pricey, but frankly, you wear your hair every day. Why on earth would you not spend a little more to make sure it’s right?

Progressions is a wonderful one-​stop shop for all your beauty needs. They are well staffed with stylists at all levels. Since I’m on a grad student budget, I opted for a level 1 stylist. I originally had my consult with Bianca at the suggestion of a front staff member, which I happily agreed to. I’m new to the area and a first-​time client at Progressions, so I wasn’t too picky, as long as the stylist was in my price range. My consult was a success and my initial experience at Progressions was great. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. The front staff gave me a quick tour of the salon and pointed out where everything was. This is very much needed, since the space is huge and you really can get lost.
On the day of my appointment, I was notified that Bianca did not make it in due to the snow. I was offered a reschedule for another day or to see another stylist the same day. Since I had cleared my schedule for this appointment, I stuck with it and was set up with Dani instead. Once again, the front staff welcomed me with friendly smiles. Dani, however, from the get-​go, was not nearly as welcoming or friendly as the rest of the staff. My consult with Bianca went so well and I was very excited for a color change. We went over the same details that I had previously done with Bianca. Yet, Dani was not nearly as inquisitive about what I wanted or at all informative about the process. I showed her a picture of what I wanted and she seemed very confused. When I asked her questions, she couldn’t really answer them in a straightforward manner and rather beat around the bush. I overlooked her inability to answer my questions and trusted her with coloring my hair (which I regret, since I should’ve trusted to my instincts). During the process, Dani said all but ten words to me. She’s not chatty– that’s fine, but it would’ve been nice to show some enthusiasm.
Another staff member did my wash and glaze and another person did my blow dry. Dani did not check-​in with me during this process since she was pre-​occupied with other clients. Okay, fine… But when she did stop by after my dry and I told her that my color was nothing close to the picture I had shown her (my expression was obviously disappointed), she kept insisting that «it’s the lighting». Lighting or not, the colors were not even close when I examined the side-​by-​side pictures. Then she went on to say that what I wanted would require more sessions. Is that not something I should’ve been told at the very beginning? I don’t think I had unrealistic expectations for this session and Dani should have communicated possible concerns with me. Instead, she led me to believe that she could achieve the results I wanted. Rather than admitting the drastic difference in colors, she just walked away. She then returned with a colorist, whose name I didn’t catch. She suggested that we do another toner to get closer to the color I wanted. Yet another staff member did my toner and wash this time, and I was then passed on to someone else for blow dry.
The verdict? The color is still not what I was hoping for, but it did cover the out-​grown brassy balayage that I had previously. I was already there for 3.5 hours and did not have the time nor patience to stay longer. After my second blow dry, Dani NEVER even checked back in with me, even though she was just a few stalls down. I was so shocked to see (or NOT see) my stylist, Dani, not even caring enough to see the final result. This is why I’m so torn about Progressions. Every other staff I encountered was so nice and professional, yet my main coloring experience was with Dani, which was very poor to say the least!
Tips:
~ Passport program offers discounted services for students and military families (must show proof of ID)
~ You can make reservations online, but any changes/​cancellations must be called into the front office
~ Tips cannot be added on credit cards, but they do have an ATM machine inside. Better to just have cash on hand to avoid the fees.
~ Free parking in the lot
~ A credit card is required to hold a reservation

From the first call, I knew that Progressions would be a great, professional experience. They asked me what my budget was and clued me in on their tiered pricing/​stylists. Once I got there, there were plenty of receptionists to greet and she took me on a tour around the salon (never had THAT at a salon before). And, on a morning weekday, the salon was pretty packed.
Onto the tour. There’s a kid’s room with a tv and toys (what?!), an area where you can get free juice and snacks (what!!!) and then hidden in the back is a spa (okkkkkkay) and a nail salon (how’d you hide that?!).
I was already sold at the snacks :)
Navan was really easygoing, and asked me what I was looking for and my routine. He suggested some products for me without trying to sell it, and only highly recommended one product rather than everything he was using. He handed me a new client packet, which also gave me an immediate discount to the cut and products. I was really pleased with the quality of the cut and time it took – not too long, not too quick.
The receptionist booked me my next appointment and added it to my online account, which is nice addition to joining this salon – you can get texted your appointments and manage it online. And, the cute tips slot was convenient for me to drop in with ease.
I will definitely be back… a comfortable salon with great customer service.
