I found Dr. Alman on Unilocal and am so glad I did. I had 3 wisdom teeth that I needed to get removed because I had already gotten one removed from another doctor. The 1 that I got removed from the other doctor was extremely painful so I was looking for a better experience.
My situation was quite unique as I had my bottom right tooth growing sideways onto another tooth and it was near a major nerve. I had gone to 3 other doctors before and they all warned me that removing this wisdom tooth could have nerve damage which is why you need to go to a oral surgeon.
Out of all the Doctors I went to, Dr Alman was the most confident that he could get the tooth out and told me what the risk was. By researching him he was also the most qualified to do it. After all he is a professor at a university as well! I trusted him and went along with it.
Everything turned out great. All the 3 teeth removed by Dr Alman combined caused less pain then the 1 tooth the other doctor removed.
I opted for General Anesthesia by the way. The pain I am referring to is for the following days after.
I would definitely recommend Dr. Alman, He doesnt accept most insurance but his professionalism is worth every dollar.

Judging a dentist is difficult. We tend to think the dentist is good if we «like» him/​her and if the pain is minimal. Actually, it may take ten or so years to really know just how good he/​she really is; however, building your confidence, coming with the BEST of qualified recommendations, having cutting edge equipment, controlling bleeding, making sure the patient is comfortable both physically and mentally, following up at every step of the way, etc., etc. are sure indicators that Dr. Alman is TOPS!
A week ago, I had a mouth full of extractions, implants, and bone graphs. Amazingly, the swelling, bleeding and pain was minimal. He and his congenial staff continued to track my progress for the entire week following surgery. The professionalism was «spot on!» I would highly recommend this genuinely nice and most capable oral surgeon to my beloved family members and friends. Oh, did I mention: I have suffered all my life from dental/​dentist phobia? Perhaps putting it into context gives you a better idea of my sincere and high regards for Dr. Alman!

I initially tried to search for an oral surgeon on my own through Unilocal reviews and did a consultation with a highly rated one in DC, which was convenient to where I work/​live. However, the cost estimate they gave me was astronomical and I also didn’t feel like that particular doctor took the time to listen/​address my concerns. He just tried to brush them away in a way that made me feel like he didn’t take me seriously since he felt he was the expert.
Thankfully, I reached out to my old dentist in Houston and she recommended Dr. Alman for my wisdom tooth removal. Everything went better than I had imagined. This was my first wisdom tooth removal so I was a bit nervous, but the procedure went off without any problems and I didn’t feel a thing. Dr. Alman called to follow up and check on me after the procedure, which I really appreciated. He was also great about answering any my questions, which is obviously really important to me. If I need any other teeth removed, I would gladly go out to Rockville for the peace of mind in knowing that someone with true expertise will be performing the procedure.

Dr. Alman is among the best ever. He pulls teeth amazingly, makes implants that have lasted many years, with great care, humor and consideration. I was just looking up his phone number to have another wisdom tooth extracted, and thought I would write this while I waited for his office to open. I can’t say I’m looking forward to the experience, but I know I will be in good hands, and that is very reassuring.

I went to Dr. Alman to remove all 4 of my wisdom teeth, 3 of which had some kind of impaction and were making my lower teeth tight due to the pressure.
The office is very clean and the equipment looks up-​to-​date and new. The staff was very friendly as well, including Dr. Alman.
Since all of my wisdom teeth were still hidden inside my gums, I opted for general anesthesia because I really did not want to see cutting, blood, or sewing, but you can also choose local if your teeth are already protruding, which makes the procedure somewhat easier. After the surgery, I woke up, and was all wrapped up.
I fully expected some kind of pain or discomfort after the procedure when the numbing subsided, from all of the horror stories I’ve heard about wisdom teeth removal, but I felt none. NONE at all. I thought maybe the numbing muted the pain, but I did not feel any pain at all even during the next several days after the surgery while I was resting at home.
A couple of years later when my BF needed his wisdom teeth removed, I recommended him to Dr. Alman, and he also experienced zero discomfort after his procedure (he had local anesthesia).
Dr. Alman is truly amazing.
