The service was great, even though we arrive late like 15 minutes before closing, our waitress was nice and not in a hurry to close like most waiter 30min before closing. The food was good and fresh. And the place is comfy. If you want a nice Peruvian dinner not cheap crappy food neither expensive, I recommend this restaurant

This place is under new management, new menu and that is what made this place amazing. The food and the service was great.

I really like Peruvian food, but was very disappointed with this place. The menu is not descriptive and it is super hard to figure out what to order. Once we received our food, it was super bland, which I was not at all expecting. The waitstaff was nice.

Tried it on the spur of the moment. Very nice experience. I had lomo saltados. The steak was very good. The sauce was less salty than at La Limena or El Mariachi. This would make my cardiologist happy — but salty tastes better. This is balanced by the high quality of the meat. I’ll be back for more. My wife was happy with the aji de gallina. Nice place in a convenient location.

The only good thing here was that the server took back our anticuchos and did not charges us for it. The owners and the cooking staff should be embarrassed to serve food this poorly prepared. I’m writing a review at 7 am th next day (we had late lunch) is because Im dealing with a severe stomachache since last night.
We should have known it was a bad idea from the moment we walked in, there was only one older couple beside us. We ordered anticuchos, charbroiled chicken, tallarin con pollo (lo mein w chicken) and all were very disappointing, bland, old and under cooked. The anticuchos tasted like an old chewed up beef jerky that my dog spit out. (Not that I’ve ever tried it) it tasted rancid and smelled old. The vegetables in the tallarin were raw and whole chunks of them. We asked our waiter to take it back, he did only to bring it right back out after reheating it. The chicken tasted like microwaved reheated food, it was so obvious the skin on the chicken detached and was falling off, kindda looked like looking at an old lady’s rolled down pantyhoss. I can still taste the dissatisfaction in my mouth. My taste buds are giving me the silent treatment and my gut feels the pain.
Some advice, drive yourself a few blocks down on the pike and go to la Canela

Sazon Inka was an amazing experience for my wife and I. We received a flyer on my car windshield a couple months ago but never got around to visiting. However, tonight we finally made it and I’m glad we did! The food is outstanding. The service is even better! Our water Jovin did an excellent job providing us with an amazing level of service, the kind of high quality service that’s really hard to find these days. He really made us feel special with his level of professionalism and attention to detail. The food turned out to be extremely delicious. I had the boneless trout and my wife had the bistec encebollado. My fish was cooked to perfection and my wife loved her steak. My only wish is that they would have had Peruvian beer in stock. However, Corona worked just fine. Apparently they were out of Peruvian beer tonight but hopefully on our next visit they’ll be stocked up again. And yes, we definitely plan on going back. This is an establishment that deserves your attention. I salute the owner and staff for their hard work. Wonderful restaurant and highly recommended!

Went here on a double date. One whole chicken (includes two sides) plus a couple appetizers was more than enough food for all of us.
The Chicha Morada (purple corn) drink was delicious. Tastes like spiced wine, but luke-​cold, without the alcohol. Very refreshing.
They had a couple drinks that were only served on Sunday, the way the waiter talked about them I may have to go back on that day just to try them.
The Papa Rellena was also very good as an appetizer. However, I wouldn’t recommend the fried yucca or Chicharron de Puerco.
Also, I really liked the fried plantains. I can’t eat bananas raw due to allergies, but I love the taste, so lightly frying them made for a great semi-​sweet dessert after the chicken was done.
I would recommend coming here if you have a few friends to split a large chicken with, and you just want some good food.

With Carbon Peruvian shutting down, we had limited options for chicken! I was excited to see this place open and ready some decent reviews
Atmosphere — came in right before the dinner rush; most of the lights were turned off inside! the place looked like it was about to close; it was very depressing… not impressed.

Pretty solid here, fast friendly service good prices and all the basic Peruvian dishes you could ask for. I was here for lunch and was crowded, dinner less so-​they close early.

There were once 2 Peruvian places in the Rockville Town Square area. Carbon Peruvian Chicken Grille and La Canela (never been to La Canela). Does this new place replace Carbon? I can’t say for now — would need a bit more visits to make that determination. It is located on North Washington Street next to Woodside Deli. Parking is right in front of the restaurant in a lot.
On this visit, I went for lunch with a few friends. We got there around 11:30am on a weekday and at the time, the place was empty (more customers seemed to trickle in some time after noon). We received a bowl of what looked like dry grilled corn and it came with 2 sauces. I tasted this corn-​like dish, but didn’t fancy it too much.
For lunch, I got the quarter dark chicken which included with 2 sides. I chose plantain, french fries and a drink. Soda is given to you in a can, but you are also given a cup with ice so you can do your own pouring. I grew up on plantain and could tell by the way how they looked that they were cooked when the plantains were really ripe (looked soft on my plate and I don’t like when it is like that… still don’t). The chicken was good and I enjoyed it, however, I still prefer Carbon’s version.
The meal overall was affordable (lunch prices) and checking in on Unilocal,gave me 15% off my meal; however I didn’t get the wow factor overall. It is more a place I will go to if I don’t have any other choices.

Went here because we had a deal through the Spotluck app; so glad we did. Our server was extremely friendly and very helpful when it came to navigating the unfamiliar menu. Also, while the inside of the restaurant is nothing special, I appreciated that the tables weren’t crammed together, which made it easier to navigate our stroller and have a high chair without our one YO throwing food on other patrons.
Food was absolutely fantastic. My wife got the pollo saltado, I opted for the seafood medley. Large portions but neither of us felt disgusting when we were done, which is to say perfect size.
I honestly didn’t know what to expect going in but after eating there I’ll definitely be going back.

Live right by this place. Went in there, the place wasn’t half full, and ordered right away. Food didn’t come out for 40 minutes, not just to us, no one in the testy steamy was given food. I left and got crisp and juicy. Took them 8 minutes to get me my food.
Prices were also pretty high there, the place has Zero ambience as well, no booths. Looks thrown together. Entrees costing $ 20 each after taxes. This place might be worth the price point, but didn’t get to try the food. Seems like a really low budget operation, if the food is amazing then I guess it justifies things. I’d go to la limena if you want nicer Peruvian food, it’s cheaper, nicer restaurant, bigger kitchen, they refill the little Peruvian salt nuts all the time (unlimited). They have Cuban food as well

The Lomo saltado was really good! The portion size was large and very satisfying. Service was good too.

Try it. Rockville Town Center desperately needed a good peruvian chicken joint. Now we do… The chicken was exceptional… the yuca nice and crispy the way i like it. The lomo soltado was incredible as well… Very clean place with great customer service. This place is going to be a hit once everyone finds out. Do yourself a favor and give it a try.

I live in Fairfax but I’m always searching for a great Peruvian place in the DC area. I was at Sazon Inka last week and had the anticuchos, the chicken, and picarones. Anticuchos were well-​seasoned and tasted fresh, dish was well decorated and was up there with the best I’ve had in the U. S (4.8 out of 5). The chicken was fresh and average size, which is a good thing. Most places nowadays serve you a very small bird. It tasted great but it just needed a bit of juice. We ordered the yuka and it was serve to perfection. It takes me a lot to be surprised and Yuka did not disappoint (4.5 out of 5). It was already too much food but we decided to order the picarones as most places don’t serve them on weekdays. I am glad we did because they were one of the most delicious picarones I’ve ever had anywhere, here or in Peru (5 out of 5).
The place is new but well decorated and large. The TVs were playing soccer and the music was salsa, a plus in my book. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly, unlike most places where the staff doesn’t know how the food is prepared. That’s another big PLUS! I really enjoyed dinning here. The prices were average and as new as this place is the variety was okay. I wish they did have more dishes but the ones I had were well above average and I will definitely be returning here.

I was sad when the nearby Carbon Peruvian chicken in Rockville Town Center closed but this place opened up almost immediately afterward. The place is in a small row of stores near a Subway. It can be annoying to park if the lot is full but it wasn’t the time I went. I carried out a couple dishes.
One item we got was their Arroz Chaufa De Pollo which is basically just fried rice with chicken and eggs. It wasn’t anything like Chinese fried rice, and was refreshingly good. Another we got was the quarter chicken with sides. We got the white meat which was tasty. I know its bad for you but the skin was amazing! The chicken came with two sides so we got more rice and fried yuca, which is like a really dense french fry. They both came with a green sauce and a yellow sauce, the former being really spicy but both were very good!

The Peruvian chicken was not bad, but the food was not hot and they didn’t have white meat, which means the chickens were not freshly cooked. The Yuka was dry and unappetizing. There are other places to go that are much, much better.

Yummy! As a Peruvian… I like. My grandma finished her whole plate and she usually doesnt. Thats a good sign!
