History
Established in 1987.
When Seven Seas first opened, the general perception was that Chinese food was mainly dishes like General Tso’s chicken & spring rolls. The owners were eager to change that image & introduce authentic Chinese cuisine to Washington D.C.
The restaurant specializes in award-winning, authentic seafood dishes that have earned us a reputation as one of the freshest seafood restaurants. From flavorful tilapia with garlic to a sumptuous lobster dinner with ginger & scallion, nothing enhances these house specialties like using fresh ingredients. Seven Seas takes pride in serving live catch purchased from reputable local suppliers.
Our menu is unique because we incorporate dishes from different regional influences. Using Mandarin wok stir-frying methods, our talented chefs can whip up dishes that will please your palate — whether it is the classic American Chinese General Tso’s, the mild, fresh flavors of Cantonese favorites, Taiwanese chafing dishes or the famously fiery Szechuan peppercorns.
