Description

Specialties

Presenting Indian dishes influenced by the foreign cultures that crossed and mingled with that of the Indian subcontinent — French, British, Pharisees, Portuguese and Chinese, how their cuisine got affected by the use of Indian spices and got transformed.

History

Established in 2009.

Chef Sudhir Seth’s acclaimed cuisine in his second venture after the success of Passage to India, Bethesda MD. In addition to contemporary Indian fare, the menu features dishes influenced by the foreign cultures who came to the subcontinent and left their mark on its cuisine. The dramatic and colorful dining hall is adorned by colorful tiles on walls and huge pictures of the exotic spices used in Indian food. The ceiling is draped with billowing pastel silk sails. A full bar with creative cocktails adds to its beverage offerings. Every Friday night is a sing-along «Curry-Oke» belting out the latest in Hollywood and Bollywood favorites.

Meet the Business Owner

Sudhir S.

Business Owner

A graduate of the Hotel Management Institute, and honing his skills at the Taj Hotel, Mumbai where he learnt the cooking skills from former Buckingham Palace Chef George Hamilton, Sudhir Seth moved to USA after working with the Sheraton group in Dubai, Shanghai and India. His first acclaimed restaurant was Heritage India (now sold), which prompted him to open Passage to India in Bethesda MD, which has made the Washingtonian’s BEST 100 list since it opened. That recognition and success led to this present outpost Spice Xing in Rockville, MD.
