Steven J. Karr, AIA, Principal Architect of the firm, directs the firm’s delivery of professional and technical services. His thorough understanding of the development process combined with more than twenty two years of experience with a broad range of building types, construction technologies, planning strategies and design methodologies is demonstrated by the firm’s proven and successful record of completed projects.

Steve served on the Board of Directors of Habitat for Humanity of Montgomery County from July of 2004 through July of 2007. In January of 2006 Steve received the first «Harry Semmes Award» for «outstanding service in appreciation for … significant contributions to Habitat for Humanity of Montgomery County». In 2004, Montgomery County Executive Douglas Duncan appointed Steve to serve a 2 year term on the Wheaton Redevelopment Advisory Committee where advocated for regulatory changes to the Wheaton Retail Preservation Overlay Zone adopted by the Montgomery County Council in July of 2006.

Steve served as the 1995 President of the Potomac Valley Chapter of the American Institute of Architects and was the recipient of the Chapter’s 2004 Paul H. Kea Medal for Service to the Profession in acknowledgment «for all his volunteer activities, Steve has set the standard for service to the profession and to his community».
