Dr. Snyder seems very good, but her office staff consists of the rudest and most unprofessional medical and admin staff I have EVER seen. I would give Dr. Snyder 4 stars and the office staff 0 stars if possible.

Nadine Flaharty is great! She was thorough and patient. The assistant i can do without, as she didn’t really make me feel great.

Dr. Snyder, hands down is the best informative & exuding of genuine patient care manner in the OBGYN specialty I have ever experienced!
Especially in the seasoning years, it’s vital to me to have someone to really care about their patients, not just boast credentials & such, yet with providing outstanding patient services.
Boy, did I luck up in getting an appointment (made it back in early October) with Dr. Snyder as she is already booked up into next February. I saw a different OBGYN earlier this year, and unfortunately the experience both during and post was horrible. Instead of putting myself through self worry on waiting another year to have my annual exam and tests done, and get the appropriate follow up and feedback every patient should receive, I was referred to Dr. Snyder and Women’s Health Specialists of Montgomery County… VERY GRATEFUL for this referral.
As soon as I walked in, the waiting area was very clean and organized. Yvette was the Check In Receptionist, who so vibrant with her pleasant demeanor. She walked me through the new patient check in requirements at a cool pace and since I completed my new patient paperwork on line through their secured portal, this process was very quick. Their up to date technology effort was good, as their usage of the Phreesia is such an innovative way of checking in. After I was done, my wait time was literally –as soon as I sat down and adjusted my jacket, my name was called.
Amina was the Medical Assistant who called me back, very pleasant as well. She did my vitals, asked if I needed anything and I literally waited all of 10 minutes at the most until Dr. Snyder came in. It wasn’t the usual breeze through for a new patient exchange, she asked and I answered for about 15 minutes, she really spent an appropriate time with me. Dr. Snyder was very polished, humble, thorough and had no issues answering any of my questions. Not to mention exuding patience on her end about my last medical checkup, as the experience was bad I had to really think on some things. Hence, she gave me a very in depth yet quick and easy exam with positive remarks… it’s ALWAYS good to hear that, which makes these types of appointments so much better.
My next and final stop was the bloodwork, and again, just an overall pleasant and friendly Phlebotomists; I forgot her name, but her haircut was sharp! I literally was in and out within the hour, had all my questions answered and even got a To-​Do List from Dr. Snyder to upload my daily supplements and send over my recent Mammogram results.
Again, there could be anxiety with our Annual’s yet, when you have a Doctor and Staff as friendly, courteous and genuinely cordial as Dr. Snyder and Crew, it makes the visit so much more pleasant and relaxed.
I look forward to my next appointment December 2016!

Please be careful of this practice! Nadine Flaherty seems so sweet, kind and acts like your best friend… but then! Although she is a nurse, the practice gives her responsibilities of a doctor. Her judgmental attitude and disregard of professional ethics has caused my family much undo stress. After seeking opinions of another doctor (from a different practice), with the confirmation of blood tests and pathology results, we find she was completely wrong in 3 different instances!

I’ve been to WHS twice, both for annual check ups, and overall I have had good experiences. I’m a little surprised to see so many people give it such bad reviews. From my experience, the Rockville staff there is nice – not overly polite and super warm – but they weren’t rude like others mentioned. The wait time was very short for me actually. I probably waited less than 10 minutes and it wasn’t crowded at all (my appointment was in the early afternoon).
The first time I went, I saw Dr. Snyder. I can attest to what others commented about her, particularly how she doesn’t make you feel very comfortable. I remember asking an uncomfortable question and she answered it in a way that made it seem like my question was stupid/​obvious. It was my first time going to the gynecologist so it made me feel uneasy and a bit embarrassed. Overall, my visit was fine but I wish she had made me feel more comfortable.
The second time, I chose to see Nadine after reading all the good reviews of her people left on here. She was great! When she walked in, I automatically felt more comfortable with her and she answered my questions like a professional, and in a non-​judgmental way.
Regarding the online portal system that’s been criticized by others, I actually like it and see it’s efficiency. I’ve made my appointments on there and usually receive a response within 2 business days, like they promise. One time, they didn’t contact me after 2 days, so I sent another message, and they called me right after. I particularly like it because I usually contact them while I’m at work, so I like that I can just send a message instead of having to talk out loud, over the phone, about my personal health care.

I am sad to see this place go downhill so fast. WHS has converted to an online portal system. Now it is impossible to get ANYONE to help you when you call. Have a question? Too bad. Need to change an appointment or cancel? Too bad. Tell the robot and no one will return your call. And if you do have an appointment you will be harassed by every form of technology that exists for the entire week leading up to it. After canceling an appointment by voicemail the other day (because apparently no one is there or available at 2 pm) a robot proceeded to call me hours later to confirm my appointment?
Thanks but no thanks WHS. I will continue to go here SOLEY for Dr. Nadine. If she leaves you… peace out

I went back to my follow up appointment a few days ago and the only thing that changed was the wait. I did have to wait a tad bit longer than my first visit approximately 45 minutes) however that won’t change my overall impression or rating.
On this visit I still was very pleased with everyone that I came across. The receptionist was professional and pleasant. The nurse (or physician assistant) was pleasant as well.
And of course there is Dr. Steren… very detailed and explained everything to me. His demeanor is very welcoming and calming (always puts me at ease).

I’ve been coming here for 3 years now and I’ve had a good experience thus far. I prefer to see Nadine when I have my annuals because she is great at making me feel comfortable and answers all my questions in a timely manner.
Checking in is easy. The receptionist attends to you quickly and answers all your questions. Even over the phone, they usually respond within 24 hours.
I only wish they had saturday hours.

I love this office! Everyone is so nice and scheduling is SUPER easy. You can schedule online or over the phone. When you go in for your appointment everything is quick and simple. The ladies at the front desk are super friendly and answer all of my questions. The nurses and doctors are all very friendly as well and are all very knowledgeable. I usually don’t like going to doctors but this Staff makes me feel super comfortable with everything (including those awkward questions your usually to scared to ask). I love this office and couldn’t imagine going anywhere else. I would ABSOLUTELY recommend going to this office for any and all female/​OBGYN appointments.

A friend recommended me to this group. I wish I could say good things but I can’t. Actually, I can’t even make an appt. without leaving a message and someone calling me back or not– even after 24 hours. If it takes more than a week to «try» to make an appt. and you still don’t have one., Something is wrong! so i have moved on to another provider who does answer when I call and is able to give me an appt. Women’s Heath Specialist, maybe you should contact a Phone Specialists to help with the phone lines.

I go to Nurse Flaherty who is generally very thorough and pleasant. But I would like to switch to another GYN office because the support staff are rude and unprofessional. The last time I visited, in Jan. 2014, I was given a tablet with which to update my data. Not realizing that it would take a while to fill out, I began to fill it out at the front desk, and was very rudely told by the receptionist to move out of the way for other people … when there were no other people waiting to get to the front desk.
About the tablet, be warned that the questionnaire asks for all the usual intrusive personal questions, and slips in a question asking if you will consent to share your data with the company that provided the tablet to the Women’s Health Specialists. I replied «no,» but it is easy to miss this particular question among the myriad of other ques ions, and answer «yes» without understanding the kind of privacy waiver you are agreeing to. Be careful to read each question on the tablet. You do NOT need to agree to share your personal health info with the tablet-​provider to be treated.
At the beginning of my treatment, I was instructed to strip from the waist down. As I was lying on my back, one of the support staff was called in, and she immediately complained about how «uncomfortable» she was about seeing me partially naked. First of all, if she is so squeamish about nudity in the context of medical care, she is in the wrong profession. Second, this is not about her and her comfort level. The patients do not enjoy being made to strip, to be poked and prodded. To have a medical staff go «Euww …» only adds to the humiliation of the patient experience.
Like I said, the support staff at Women’s Health Specialists are rude and unprofessional.
Then yesterday, Feb 5, 2014, someone called from Women’s Health Specialists called and left me a voice message telling me to make my annual check up appointment. When I called back today to combine the check up with an outstanding appointment, I was told that my insurance won’t cover the check up until April, so I «can’t» make an appointment until after April.
I asked why then the office called me on Feb. 5^th to make an appointment if I «can’t» make an appointment until after April, and was told that they don’t like patients to wait too long to make the appointment. I think that in leaving the message, they should have made a full disclosure, i.e., that they are asking me to make an appointment for a date after April. I would not have bothered to call so early. But I guess that’s exactly why they didn’t make the full disclosure. They prefer to make me waste my time instead. Which is why I do not recommend Women’s Health Specialists to anyone, and will switch as soon as I find another GYN provider.

Dr. Sikka is a good doctor. However, the Office Staff is DEPLORABLE and I dropped going to Dr. Sikka because of their dismissive attitude and rude behavior. I would NEVER use this practice, there is no need to be treated in this manner.
My insurance company and I were disputing over a billing issue of $ 70.00 that I was not responsible to pay. I’ve been in financial hardship and unable to make payment on this bill to the practice. Rather than the practice and the insurance company figuring out the issue, the office staff continued to demoralize me and refuse any discussion over the optional billing codes. And to even get a moment to ask the doctor if there was any issue with the bill, well forget it.
And to top it off, I couldn’t get my necessary prescriptions filled, leaving me in dangerous conditions.

One of the staff members is not kind. But based on her lack of inflection, she might be a robot, so I wouldn’t take it personally. Dr. Flaharty, however, is awesome.

I cannot possibly say enough great things about Dr. Albert Steren and his staff! I was referred to his practice by my GYN when I needed surgery. Dr. Steren is knowledgeable, competant, and kind. When I had my consultation with him, he presented me and my husband with all of our options and was comforting and reassuring. He was patient and answered any questions we had and it was clear as he explained everything that I would be in very competent, capable hands in the OR. Leading up to my surgery day, his staff was always helpful– getting me paperwork for work leave, calling in refills for prescriptions, scheduling the actual operation– they were always kind and patient and available! And as far as my procedure, thanks to Dr. Steren’s skill and care, I recovered much quicker than expected and could not be more pleased. Thank you!

I have been a patient for five years. I have had a great experience with the staff and doctors. I am surprised to read some of the negative comments. I havent had any issues with staff. The only negative thing i can say is that the exam rooms are cold.
My doctor, Nadine, is great. She is very friendly and helpful. Any time i have an issue and call, her or a member of her staff replies very quickly.
Kim is also a great aesthetician. I have had a couple facials and waxes by her.
Its nice being able to go in for a doctors appointment and then be able to have a facial. I have recommend Women’s Health Specialists to many friends who have also had great experiences.

After searching around the Bethesda area and being told I would be unable to make a gynecological appointment for at least 4 months, I called Women’s Health Specialists. I was able to make an appointment for 2 weeks later. The person on the phone was friendly and helpful. I saw in previous reviews that the phone tree is difficult and annoying, but I called two separate times and had no difficulty reaching a live person and getting my questions answered. Also, I was able to fill out my patient information online so that I did not have to sit in the office and fill out papers and think about my answers to the health questions. I really appreciate the online option for the form and wish other places would do the same.
After reading some of the other reviews, I was prepared for a long wait. When I arrived, the nurse told me they were running behind and that I would be waiting for awhile. I appreciated her telling me so that I wasn’t sitting there anticipating my name would be called at any minute. They have a sign in the office that says they take their time with each patient. There was another woman in the waiting room who had apparently been waiting for awhile because she was very irritated that she was waiting. I didn’t really care-​they had a radio playing, magazines, and I had my smartphone to keep me occupied. I ended up waiting 35 minutes after my appointment was supposed to take place before my name was called.
I saw Alisa Studley, and I thought her bedside manner was very nice. She listened to me, answered my questions, and conversed with me like I was a normal person. I really appreciated her efficient manner-​she was there to see me but not waste either of our time (I mean that in a complimentary way). I was in and out, received what I needed, got my prescription without any grief, and felt the whole experience was good. The office staff were friendly and helpful as well.
I would recommend this place to others with the warning to be patient while waiting.

I have been going here for maybe ten years and have not been a happy customer for about 5 (I keep going out of convenience since it’s right by my home). I have not had good experiences here in recent years. You can literally never get anyone on the phone. If you need a prescription refill, you are seriously out of luck. There is no easy way. The phone system is a complete nightmare. I recently just chose to go without my Rx rather than try to call again and I switched to a new practice. There is no way you could ever get your practitioner on the phone. I have received some less than accurate medical information which I relied upon and later found out was a disproved «old wives tale.» I am all around very displeased.

Dr. Barter is a terrific surgeon. He operated on my endometriosis and even after a year later we were still able to get pregnant almost immediately!

In the exam room I’ve had good experiences with all of the nurses at this practice, Alysa, Nadine, and Danielle.
The doctors are miserable. Dr. Snyder was judgemental and dismissive when my primary care referred me here — not at all what you want when you’re feeling vulnerable at the gyn’s office. She also opened the exam room door while I was «exposed» and staff were walking through the hallway. Furthermore, she caused me a completely unnecessary health scare. I used Dr. Levav for a minor outpatient surgery and regretted it. She never once listened to my concerns, did not honor my wishes, and gave me medically inaccurate information. On the day of my surgery, her failure to listen to me during a very anxious moment made my panic so much worse. She also asked me to discontinue birth control for two months and then forgot why she asked.
The office’s administration practices are a nightmare too. Every year you will fill out reams of repetitive paperwork, even if your insurance you health information, and their privacy practices have not changed.
Surgical scheduling was a nightmare, and no one ever had it in their records whether I was pre– or post-​op. Nor could I find out what my out-​of-​pocket costs would be in advance of a surgery because «the person who could tell you that is on vacation.»
Lastly, expect to wait a really long time for your appointment. Signs in the waiting room tell you that the staff takes time with each patient, so there may sometimes be delays. How about they take into account the actual time needed to see a patient and build it into their schedule? There is no time of day on any day of the week when this practice runs on schedule.
After my experience with Dr. Levav, and my inability to get Danielle to call me back once after seven messages over four months, I will not be returning to this practice.

Dr James Barter is a greaet wonderful Gynecology Oncologist.
Dr. Barter was compassionate and realistic and very kind. He helped me through an incredibly stressful, rough time. He is also a world class expert in robotic surgery. Thanks to the skill of Dr. Barter, I was able to keep my uterus. He is wonderful.
