Lindauer Mac Consulting helps businesses using Macintosh and Apple technology become more profitable and free of tech-related stress. The process begins with an evaluation to help users understand their evolving technology needs. Assistance includes purchase advice, installation, troubleshooting, repair, backup, and maintenance. Our mission is to increase productivity via cost-effective strategies that address client needs.
Charles Lindauer, founder of Lindauer Mac Consulting, has been keeping clients — new as well as experienced Mac users — productive and profitable since 1995. Lindauer Mac Consulting works with businesses (and individuals) who use Macintosh computers, iPhones and iPads to provide troubleshooting, purchase and upgrade advise, workflow consulting and more.
I’m a consultant, not a technician. I can do the technician’s work, but add value. Having owned several businesses, I understand the needs of business owners and managers to maintain productivity and keep costs down. As a consultant I am able to bring my experience into play to help them make good decisions.
I work with several graphic design firms and creative departments, with wineries, compliance firms, realtors, attorneys and a variety of business owners, as well as helping individuals with Slow Macs, freezes and crashes, upgrades and replacement, RAM or Memory upgrades, data recovery, restoration and retrieval, hard drive replacement, backup advice and setup, data security and malware.
History
Established in 1995.
I owned an import company, run on Macintosh computers, from 1989 to 1995. As the in-house tech support I learned a lot about how to keep a suite of computers and a network running. After closing the business in 1995, people found me and asked for help. I’ve been helping clients ever since.
In 2007 I took the first of several Apple certification courses, and joined the Apple Consultants Network.
In 2011 I moved from Petaluma to Rohnert Park, CA.
Meet the Business Owner

Business Owner
My education was in engineering, but I spent my 30’s working as a builder and a millwright. I’ve always been a tool guy, and when computers became available, that became my tool of choice.
Problem solving has always come easily to me, as has the ability to research. This has been a real asset in dealing with computers and computing!
I bought my first Mac in early 1987, and have owned at least 3 dozen Macs since.
Following a trip to Indonesia in January 1989, I started IndoPacific Trading Company to import handicrafts, antiques and tribal art from Indonesia and southeast Asia. IndoPacific eventually had a half dozen employees all using Macs, and I had a desktop at home and a laptop to travel with. Keeping that collection working was a challenge, but I enjoyed it and learned how to get answers and solve problems, and have been doing it ever since.
Interests are guitar, music, photography, friends, good food, movies and books, and of course, Macs. Not necessarily in that order.
