Awesome authentic food. Trying the fried yuca… black beans and rice… avocado salad with Cuban dressing. Delicious! Owner came over to talk and find out how hot we would like our salsa. Very friendly place.

Place needs a whole lot of work. Being from South Florida this establishment is in no way, shape, or form an «authentic Cuban restaurant». I was shocked when I found out that there’s no Cuban coffee. The only coffee that was there was explained to me by the waitress as «Cuban flavored». It was just regular coffee like Folgers or Maxwell House brand coffee. Food was decent, but not fresh. Menu needs authentic Cuban dishes, not some mediocre dish. Lastly Cuban restaurants don’t have chips and salsa. This is a progressive Cuban restaurant, not a Mexican restaurant.

I’ve been here twice and loved the food both times. Service was great the first time and ok the second time. I loved the fried Yukka. They added cheaper lunch portions recently, so I’ll be going more often.

Tasty and delicious. I believe this place is less than a month old when we visited. Being from south Florida, I was excited to try this place out! The bad: –1 star I agree with the previous reviewer, the menu layout is a little difficult to follow. I’m used to the items themselves being in Spanish with the description in English. I see that they tried to keep it simple but I thought it was a little confusing. They don’t have café con leche or colada’s. A colada is not a piña colada. It’s espresso with sugar in it basically, which a down side is they didn’t know what I meant by that. Definitely kinks of a new business to work out but delicious none the less. The good: My husband ordered the Cuban sandwich and it wasn’t like what we’re used to but still good. It was juicy and flavorful and I love Cuban bread. The chunked pork I ordered had so much flavor and was a huge plate. The rice was so tasty. Everything is made to order and homemade and you can tell. There’s a lunch special for $ 6.99 for one meat and one side. Very reasonable. They brought out some pastry while we looked over the menu, that was thoughtful and delish. The owner is super friendly and asked for feedback. Very personable. We will definitely be back!!!

We checked out this place for lunch today. We are big fans of Cuban food, and were excited about having a place like this come to Rolla! I think they’ve only been open a couple weeks(if that), so they are still working out the kinks(like ordering enough food and training the waitstaff to be more professional) but I think they are off to a good start. The owner(I think?) came to our table a couple times just to chat with us — he was super friendly and very excited to share his cuisine with the fine people of Rolla. He apologized for being our of some things(namely, yuca and potatoes), and explained that he is doing his best to source his ingredients given geographical limitations(i.e. being in Rolla). We both ordered the pork Cuban sandwich. I think realistically, we could have split one but we each wanted to eat the whole thing once we had it! The pork was very flavorful and the bread a very good texture. The cheese seemed more like nacho/american cheese than the swiss-type cheese I would expect, but it worked pretty well. We were served tasty grilled jalapeños on the side, at the suggestion of the happy owner. I might have expected the sandwich to have been a little more pressed/grilled, but maybe that is attributable to the kitchen staff’s learning curve. Also, the menu is formatted a little strangely — hopefully they will add more items/combo options as the business grows. Overall, I think this will be an asset to Rolla and the surrounding communities, especially once they hit their groove. It will give folks a somewhat«adventurous» option for dining out — that isn’t a chain! Just go in with an open mind, and you’re sure to leave with a full belly. :)
