Very nice family owned store. my daughter and I went there to have her watch band adjusted to fit her better and the gentleman there did it as a courtesy. We had never set foot in there before and they treated us like we were local, old time customers. Thank all you for your hospitality and generosity. Ok — Medawar is by far the best jewelry store I have ever been too. A class act. Not only is the place beautiful but the attention to detail is awesome. I ordered a watch and every step was perfect. The customer service is very personable and goes beyond everybody being nice. Run by a super family that really is ingrained in the community.

This place lives up to the great reviews! I needed to get my engagement ring and wedding band rhodium plated and called around to a few different places before my friend recommended this place to me. Everyone I interacted with at Medawar was extremely professional, courteous and knowledgeable. My rings look brand new! I will definitely be back and will also be recommending this place to friends.

We have been going to Medawars for several years, and the honesty, integrity, knowledge and professionalism, is the best there is. My extended family also uses Medawars, and feel exactly the same way. They are part of the fabric of Palos Verdes, and as such, have a loyal and regaular clientele. That does not happen by chance — it happens because of how you conduct business, and a level of honesty and trust.

Top notch service with a rare surprise. I brought in my Movado Museum watch with gold band that was too tight (had extra links loose) to have it resized. Not only did they take care of it quickly (fit is perfect now) but didn’t even charge for it. That was the surprise. I expected to at least pay $ 10 – 20 for the service, especially since working on a gold band takes extra care not to damage the links. The friendly service was very welcome and I feel a bit guilty not to be charged for such a good fit. Will definitely use them in future for replacement batteries, repairs, or buying a new watch.

I recently visited this store to purchase a pandora charm for Mother’s Day. I was overwhelmingly impressed with the knowledgeable staff on hand and how they were able to pin point the right pandora charm for the occasion. Needless to say my mother was thrilled with her gift. I highly recommend this store for everyone’s jewelry needs. :-)

I just had a antique German 2 weight regulator clock repaired at Medawar’s.
The clock was a recent purchase at an estate sale.
I first brought it to another local clock only repair shop.
After 4 months and 4 attempts the clock would only
run for a week or two and stop.
I went to Medawar’s and the master clock man, Mishel
took over the repair. After explaining all, he embarked
on the repair. He also offered to do the repair
at a reduced rate since i paid the first clock shop.
Mr Medawar completely went through my old clock and rebuilt
all the worn gears and springs. It is working perfectly.
A master clockmaker and repair specialist. A gentlemen
and a pleasure to deal with.
He and the staff have my highest five star rating

I LOVE this store. When I initially walked in it, I commented that is was the prettiest/​glamourous jewelry store I had ever visited. I felt like a princess right away and everyone in the store was very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. The owners/​employees DO NOT treat their customers based on having the «Palos Verdes» look (if they did they would not have allowed me into the store!!!). Everyone is treated with dignity and respect. To feel like a million bucks, Audrey Hepburn wanted to have «Breakfast at Tiffany’s» I would rather have «Breakfast at Medawar!»

I am solely grading this place on honesty and integrity… and I saw/​experienced neither.
A) I came to here to sell some gold and possibly a large diamond.
B) The jewelry I sold for gold, he popped out all the stones and did not return them to me.
C) what he paid for gold was way below its value (7 – 9 dollars!!!)
D) I had him look at my diamond that was nearly 2 carats (platinum/​antique 30’s), and a VVI quality, and he offered 2,000 dollars… this was bs because I had already had it appraised before and new the diamond value alone was worth around 15,000…so, my point is, he was more than okay in being dishonest about the value of my diamond and taking advantage of a consumer that looked needy, then, he did not give me my diamonds and other precious stones back after popping them out for the gold… who does that?
Anyhow, this place was recommended by a fellow «Christian»…and this was the least pleasant experiemce I have had at any jewelry store… not to mention I was treated less than because I did not look «Palos Verdes» style…
To wrap this story up… I ended up selling that exact diamond he offered me 2,000 for $ 15,000…meaning it was worth probably far more and he was blatantly being dishonest…
I do not recommend… overpriced for the quality of diamonds as well… the diamond I had taken to him was bigger than any one diamond in the whole place…

I recently asked a friend to suggest a jeweler where I can get my necklace repaired, she told me about Medawar Jewelers. The lady behind the counter was lovely. I showed her my husbands necklace that needed a new link and she told me she would show it to the jeweler. In less than 5 minutes his necklace had been repaired and when I asked her how much she said «nothing, it only took a minute». You just don’t get that type of customer service anymore. I would thoroughly recommend this place and for all future jewelry needs I will be going here.

We had just moved into the area and needed to get a new battery for my watch. We Unilocaled ‘watch repair’ and Medawar was getting 5 stars all around, so we thought we would give it a try. Wow! what a wonderful experience! Not only was it a beautiful shop with wonderful pieces of jewelry and sweet watches, but the staff was so friendly and helpful. When we asked ‘how much?’ — they replied, ‘just a smile’…
We have found our new favorite jewelry shop! We’ll definitely be back and will recommend Medawar to all our friends!

The service and integrity of Medawar’s Jewelers make them simply wonderful to work with. They are a family owned business that has supported the community in many ways, so that’s an added plus in doing business with them. Their expertise in jewelry, watch and clock repair is exemplary. There’s never a question of where we’ll go to get this kind of skill. Another reviewer wrote that Medawar’s wouldn’t accept payment for the battery replacement for his watch, and the same thing happened to us. It IS extraordinary service!

Arranged for a watch battery to be replaced. Went to pick it up at the appointed time but it was not ready (because of a large influx of customers in the meantime). Waited 10 minutes and the repair was completed. Because of the wait time, I was not charged for the battery replacement even though I said I was happy to pay the fee and the wait time did not bother me. they would not accept payment! This is extraordinary service!

I have been shopping at Medawar’s for almost 20 years. I keep going back because of the friendly relaxed atmosphere. The staff is always attentive, helpful and professional. Sometimes I just visit to see what is new, or eat some of the ever-​present chocolate candies.
Their new location: 810 Silver Spur Road, is a beautiful, elegant showroom. But watch out for the Malteese watch dog… he snuggles.
