Promenade on the Peninsula

Very limited shops but at least they have banana republic, jcrew, and loft. Wished they had a anthroplogie! Would fit right in there. Parking is kinda limited

Two stars for excellent parking and a nice movie theater. Whoever owns/​runs/​operates this property must have been born into money because they have botched what should be a nice hig end shopping center and are turning it into one big medical complex. Enough of the temp leases during smash and the art stores/​galleries. Sell this place to Caruso who would know how to get some decent retailers in.

Since the «real» Ann Taylor is gone, thank goodness Ann Taylor Loft still here. Good selection and fairly large.
Two stars due to customer service. I was walking around for at least 15 minutes with an arm full of clothes… not one person spoke to me. I found my own dressing room, came out to find a different size, went back in and looked around some more. No greeting, no nothing! One chick even walked past me when I was holding the clothes, looked me dead in my eye, and kept it moving. I purposely didn’t ask her for help, just to see if she offered. Hate to play the race card, but it really felt like the shoe fit…

The Promenade is kind of a weird mall, in that there is almost nobody around. We went on Black Friday, and there was almost nobody to be seen — creepy.
There are your standard Gap, Banana Republic, and J. Crew stores, but there isn’t too much to choose from. Everything is kind of dated too.

Dead. Dead. Online shopping and other malls selling what people want killed this mall. Don’t tell me it’s because ppl are cheap here. Almost every female on the hill rocks multiple pairs of Lulu’s, even when not working out. I see so many LV bags and expensive shoes. Problem is this mall never sold what buyers wanted.
The mall operator needed money, so they found new tenants, as they transformed this site into a Medical and Services center. Now, with little foot traffic, restaurants and the smattering of retail stores left are barely surviving. Restaurants come and mostly go.
3^rd Street Prom, South Coast and others sell what people want. Oh, and I understand a new Lulu is coming to Del Amo which put a big grin on my daughter’s face. There’s only so much perfume and pounding music you can take at A&F. I guess the thieves are the only ones who like the perfume at A&F, LOL!

Chef David Dusseau, what a treasure he is for Williams –Sonoma, my friend arranged for him to do a cooking class in my friend’s home, he showed up early with an assistant they both were amazing, very informative and fun, he had us chop and stir and enjoy every bite afterwards.
The pots, cutting boards, knives and all the toys they brought were so good that we wanted to buy everything…
Last week I received all my goodies purchased from that night and have been using them without regrets.
Can’t wait till our next dinner party class.
Hopefully David will not be too too busy before 2015 ends…

Really empty. A little scary like in a bad Halloween movie. Will come back because it is way too close to work. Otherwise would stick to shopping in my area

We went to Luna Rossa at the promenade at the peninsula and there were kids skate boarding all over the place making noise and chasing pededesians (shoppers) away. ***where are the security people??? ***

Courtyard Mall… No wait it is called Promenade on the Peninsula. I remember this mall as an indoor mall where if I remember correctly they used to charge people to park in the parking structure (don’t quote me on that).
Deep Valley Drive used to run through between Starbucks and Pottery Barn, you can tell because crosswalk light is still standing.
The mall is limited on restaurants. It is mostly your high end clothing stores which includes that lousy of a company called Abercrombie and B*tch, also Gap, and some other places. But there is no Pac Sun :(. There is an Equinox Gym ($ 100+ gym) and there used to be Maire Calanders (where employees at various stores used to get mall discounts).
I have worked here for 3 Christmas seasons (2003 – 2007) and back again 2014, which I thought I never step back at a Pottery Barn/​Williams Sonoma but eh jobs are hard to come by. Don’t Unilocal me because I gave you such a unfriendly service because I would rather have a REAL JOB/​Career. :p
It is not the best mall as Del Amo is making a come back and could give this mall a run for its money.

I like coming to this outdoor mall as it is never crowded and has several decent chain stores (J Crew, Williams-​Sonoma, Crabtree and Evelyn, the Gap, Ann Taylor) along with movie theaters and various food options (including a Ruby’s and a very popular Starbucks). Local business are located there alongside an Equinox gym, an art gallery and an ice skating rink. I like the Mediterranean look of the mall and it is pretty small and easy to get around. Hopefully they don’t close the Promenade anytime soon due to a lack of customers.

Do you remember when this was an indoor mall? I do. What was it? Maybe ten years ago they reconstructed this mall and made it open-​air? Good or bad, I don’t know? But, it is different than it once was.
This is just a mall with your basic mall shops: The Gap, Banana Republic, and various other businesses and restaurants — many of which seem to go out of business. Do I go here? Sure. Is it the best mall ever? No. But, it is a mall. Go here if you need something mall-​like…

Haven’t been here in a long time decided to come here to go to A&F to see if they had any hoodies left no luck but i like they layout with the parking garage they seem to have some cool shops and eating places and of course the ice rink. I may have to come here more often to walk around and get some exercise lol

This place would be poppin’ if they have better stores. The only good stores here are J Crew, Banana Republic, Pottery Barn, and the ice skating rink. Wait. What?! an INDOOR ICE SKATING RINK?! Wow, so random. So cool! There’s a Regal movie theater and a Bristol Farms market down the street. Bunch of youngsters hang out here. We’re talking about junior high and high school kids and also old folks like senior citizens, retired status. This is such a random mall on top of the hill. They have a mini community up here; church, school, banks, everything! No need to go down hill to hang out with the lower class. Btw you can get a good view of downtown LA when you’re on this hill. Will probably come back in the summer to ice skate! :D

I found this shopping mall to be pretentious and confusing.
It is outdoor monolith that is 3 levels (not sure where anything really is nor is anyone who works here either).
I asked various workers here questions and I found most of them to be rude and disrespectful. I shop in many different areas in the world and these were unfriendly worker bees…
I will order online…

I am disappointed in people. It was 9pm, which where I am from, everything is still open and happening.
Mr. D. Rodriguez (who refused to give me his first name) is a security guard at the mall. He appeared young, wore a beanie, possibly suffered from premature hair loss, eager to be police.
My fiancé and I were waiting for a friend to finish work at Rubio’s. We were coming from a dinner party where we indulged in a few alcoholic drinks (barely catching a buzz). By suspicious chance, Mr. Rodriguez came inside Rubio’s, tipped off by one of the employees. Mr. Rodriguez wasn’t very discreet. An employee of Rubio’s and Mr. Rodriguez spoke about my fiancé and I. They assumed we were underage and the problem was our alcohol content.
Mr. Rodriguez then left and contracted the assistance of his partner. I immediately noticed the awkward behavior and knew we were not welcomed. I saw both of the security guards organizing an ambush outside. I was prepared for their arrival.
We walked toward the hockey rink and down. I caught some people approaching out the corner of my eye, it was them. They harassed us about my clothes and what we were dong here. They accused me of being a pot head and being drunk in public. They wanted to search us but instead asked for our i.d. They wrote my driver’s license number down and left. I was afraid they were going to call the police. We left and hid in some bushes waiting for our friend to pick us up.
I will never come back again. Plain out right discrimination!

We love coming to the Promenade because it has chain businesses that we like supporting such as The Gap, Rubios, Starbucks, Ann Taylor Loft, Small Wonders, etc. However, it’s so disheartening to see so few people patronizing the shops on any given day and hour.
I’m not sure what the remedy would be, maybe perhaps a large anchor department store like Nordstrom. Some features we appreciate is the easy access parking garage, the outside viewing area for the ice rink, the ability to walk your dog as it is outdoors, the splash area for kids, escalators for all levels, and clean infrastructure.
I’m hoping for brighter days here as the vendors can use a pick-​me-​up. So much potential, all it needs is people.

Oh, the Avenue… well wait, I guess this place is now called the Promenade on the Peninsula. In my opinion, the only main attractions of the mall are Ruby’s diner, the ice skating rink, Regal Cinema, Starbucks, Rubios (read my earlier review), Equinox and Marmalade Café. These are the reasons that I come to the Promenade. There are a few other stores/​restaurants that I did not mention here, but I think they are just great. So, don’t get the idea that I am purposefully not mentioning stores; in fact, I just can’t remember all of them at the moment.
When I go to the Promenade, I definitely feel like the demographic is either middle school student, middle age/​elderly folk, or the multiple children family. There is a fountain in the middle of the mall that a lot of children love to run and play in during the summer months. In December, there is an amazing Christmas tree; it’s a must see attraction. I never see the mall that packed anymore; it’s generally bare. Bring back the Sharper Image and Coldstone Creamery (if you remember when these two store locations still existed, like this review). I think these stores alone drew a lot of interest to the mall.
Overall, this mall was my livelihood as an adolescence living on the hill. It still appears that it’s the hangout place for many youth who love to sit and hang out in and outside of Starbucks. The Avenue, or should I say the Promenade, provides the community with a purpose, but it’s nothing over the top. This place once had a lot more life, but when I visited just recently, it was rather depressing and a walk down memory lane that left me sad knowing how this place has changed so much, yet clings on to some places that made me so happy. This place needs a little spunk to compete with other malls and draw on other demographics unless it intentionally wants to solicit those groups that I mentioned above. It is often times pricy, but I love the outdoor feel. On the whole, 3.5 stars.

Promenade on the Peninsula (aka «the PV mall»)
Its a great place really! I just wish more people would come here and shop. I come here at least 3 times a week and I love the fact that the place is nice and clean. There are about 40 plus stores and venders here (such as clothing store, tutoring facilities, a movie theater and an ice rink). The place seems alittle small from the outside but when you have to actually walk around it is quite big.
I have never really seen this place crowded so it is a great place to shop at stores where you know they have you size. For example, the Abercrombie & Fitch here always has the shirt and pants I want with my size, if I had shopped elsewhere they wouldn’t usually have my size. So really convenient to just come here first and grab everything I want all at once.
There is always security walking around when I am there which makes me feel safe.
I love the Equinox facility there it is very clean and the staff are always friendly.
I also love the fact that there is plenty of parking space in the parking garage. I have yet to see it completely packed on all the floors.
Overall, very close to home, clean, safe what more can you ask about an open mall.

I am not sure why I have not been back to the Promenade on the Peninsula (Outdoor Mall) in years. Well yesterday (10-​26-​2012) that ended when I suggested to my girlfriend we check this place out (she has never been) and while there check out Chasing Mavericks at Regal Cinemas.
This Mall is like The Grove only better and without the crowds. This mall tends to be more on the high class side of things based on the geographical area it is located in but I have ZERO problem with that because it is hidden and keeps the riff raff away.
Where else are you going to find an outdoor Mall with an Ice Skating rink in the middle of it? This Mall has your Pottery Barn & William-​Sonoma both of these stores are fun to see where you would shop if you were a millionaire and could spend $ 500 on a bowl.
Know what else is great about this Mall? As I mentioned above this mall is in a secluded area, when you pull into the parking garage there is no getting a ticket that has to be validated it is just park and exit at your will and you can guarantee there will always spaces available.
Now that I got my feet wet at this Mall again I do not believe I will go anywhere else again.
