Location location location, that’s the only reason that this place earns the 2 star.
Never had I been to a notary in which you not even handed a tissue to wipe your finger after you thumb is dipped with ink for the print. The guy acted as if you suppose to take care of that yourself.

Great service! Friendly people! Fast efficient great help for me and my small business.

The guy has a bunch of signs that say «if you whine, you have to pay $ 5.00 more,» «if you are ornery, we add 10% to your bill, etc. Ironically, he has the WORST attitude. Negativity just oozes off of him.
Also, last time they entered the apartment number wrong and the package came back. I was not only charged Fed Ex but also a return fee. Just make sure to double-​check the address they enter to make sure that it is correct so you don’t have to experience the same nonsense.
What they have going for them is the location…

Do not go here for notary stamps. This is my second time and I should’ve learned my lesson the first time. Many years ago I had a stamp made here that cut off the manufacturer logo on the edge. When I pointed it out, they seemed to see no problem with it and seemed confused why I had a problem with it. If I’m paying for something, I should get a perfect product, not something inferior. Simple as that. No offer to correct it either.
I went in again today for a notary stamp. After the clerk entered my information, she dug around and realized she did not have what she needed to make my stamp. She went to the back to ask the man and apparently this is a continuing problem. I even had my secretary call in advance to inquire — perhaps she could’ve been told so I didn’t have to waste my time coming in? The clerk tells me if they order the ink, I can get my stamp on Tues. She tells me I would’ve had to wait an hour and come back for it anyways. Thing is, my secretary was told 15 minutes turnaround. The clerk says that’s how long it takes to make the stamp but they have to wait an hour for it to cure to be able to stamp the certificate before they give you the stamp.
Let me give you a piece of advice — if someone asks for turnaround time, that means «how long do I have to wait to get it», or «can I get it that day,» etc. I don’t care how long it takes to make the stamp. If you tell me 15 mins, I will wait. If you tell me 1 hour, I will plan my day accordingly so I can run an errand in between and come back for it. But, give me the correct information.
I will never be coming back, for a notary stamp or anything else. I seriously question their competency to handle anything properly.

Bruno and his family are hard working, engaged in the community, and reaffirm why living in the Peninsula is such a blessing. They’re efficient when I need to «overnight» packages and envelopes, have a fun collection of greeting cards. Every time I go in, it’s like stepping in to the set of Mayberry RFD. Weather you’re a schmoozer with a few minutes, or a macher who needs to drop & go, I’ve found them flexible and ready to help. Support local family business. This is a classic!

I needed to ship a FedEx box. The owner/​manager (?) handed me a plastic sleeve for my packing slip. I asked him for his help on how to use it and he became abrasive. I asked why is he always grumpy. So I asked for my box back so I could go elsewhere. He then told me to fuc& off and then called me a jacka$$. I’m embarrassed for our Palos Verdes Peninsula to have this kind of business here on the hill.

I have used the Mail Box for years. They have always given me excellent service.

It really bothers me when the owner refers to his «paying customers,» I’ve used this store as a «paying customer» and as a «drop off» customer and the customer service is NEVER good. If you ask him a question he will either make it clear that he can’t be bothered helping you or respond in a condescending manner. I get that drop off customers are not the most profitable, but someone should let the owner know that drop off customers are not going to want to spend a dime in his shop after being treated so poorly… I mean what goes around comes around, right? It’s kind of sad that this mans attitude towards his customer is based off of profitability… but I guess not everyone thinks that kindness and respect is something we all deserve.

I agree with the earlier reviewers: WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE OF THE YEAR AWARD!
One time I needed to just pick up a package that was waiting for me. The owner was the only guy there and he would not leave his computer to come help me get the package. After a minute I asked if he could come out to help me, he yelled «WAIT» and stayed on the computer. I asked if I could just grab the package myself, it was sitting 4 feet away from me in their private storage area. The owner replied real smart assed, «Do you work here?» «No?, then you cant get it». Finally he came out and got my package, had me sign for it and never said a word because he was so angry. What a nutjob! AVOID THIS PLACE!

I have always had good experience at this location. Sasha and Nick are usually at the counter and are always courteous, pleasant and friendly. I am usually in and out in a couple of minutes.

I went to the mail shop for my passport photo, they were very fast the picture came out good. The young guy who took my photo was nice and professional and I spoke to the owner for a minute who is very very nice! It’s a great shop that has a lot of great stuff in it.

Such unfriendly service. The girl who helped me was nice, but the man snapped at me when I asked a simple Heston. Really humiliated me in front of the other customers. I’ve never written a review for poor customer service, but he was so unnecessarily rude. If you don’t care about manners, this place should be fine for mail needs. As for me, I like friendly, helpful people.

First, I just want to say that I 1^st read plenty of reviews about this store before writing my own. I wanted to make sure that I wasn’t catching the shop clerk on a bad day. Doesn’t seem that way, not according to the testimonials of others who have had the same sort of experience that I had today. I usually go to the UPS store up the street where they are friendly and courteous. Going to The Mail Shop today was a mistake. Avoid this place if you don’t want to deal with a bunch of attitude. I went in for what I consider a normal task, to drop off a package to return to Amazon. The man at The Mail Shop ridiculed me for not sealing it with my own tape, something I’ve never been asked to do at UPS. He could have just charged me for the tape. Instead he laid on the guilt with a smirk and complained about how illprepared a customer I was and how I get to send a package for free at his expense… wow, all that for a piece of tape? I offered to take the package somewhere else but he didn’t hand the package back to me until I requested a receipt… because that request was over the line? I can’t speak for any of the other services this establishment provides. There must be some reason this place is in business, though I’ll never know why. If you need to drop off a package, and don’t want a bunch of grief, just go somewhere else.

WORST — CUSTOMER SERVICE of the year award
I went in to mail a prepaid return package. I asked for a receipt and here is where everything went bad.
The male employee glowered at me and said we don’t usually do this. Continuing with «time is money». And suggested i leave a $ 1 tip to cover their cost. I begrudgingly complied.
This is rude, unacceptable customer service. When i worked in this business if i had heard the same behavior from anyone their would have been serious repercussions. They obviously do not care about their customers experience. Return business and word of mouth ensures that a company thrives.
For the cost of ink & paper they have lost all future PAID business from at least 10 to 15 associates.

THE WORST!
Rude, poor customer service, you will be nickel & dimed for everything.
The proprietor is the most unfriendly anti-​customer service I have met.
I have been there 3 times and every time the employees (usually the proprietor) is sarcastic and plain rude.

I used to avoid The Mail Shop, because I had some very unfriendly customer experiences when trying to drop things off for the FedEx pick-​up since we have our own FedEx account. I only thought of them for shipping/​post boxes, so I had not otherwise used them. Another customer turned me on to their copying services. Finally, a competent copy shop in Palos Verdes. Using their FTP upload at
is a breeze, and my order was ready promptly. Rather than just handing me a stack of paper, like the copy shop down the street, they were given to me in a nice box and the order was exactly as requested. Thank you!

I would give zero stars if that was possible. Only due to the extreme rudeness of the middle aged man that works there. Every time I go to drop off a pre paid UPS package he has the worst attitude ever and snips at me every time I have asked him a question. My mom has also complained to me about his attitude saying he is often sarcastic and rude to her, it’s hard to believe because my mother is one of the nicest people every and is extremely friendly. I’m going to make a point to drive to a farther location so I don’t have to deal with this guy.

Posted Christmas cards from here December 13 paid top dollar because I didn’t want to wait in post office line and not one person I sent a card to got one.
My friends and family all thought something bad had happened because I have never missed sending cards in 30yrs and use the opportunity to catch up with everyone.
A SHOCKING experience do not use this facility!!!

The only good thing about this place was easy parking in back.
I was mailing back a printer to amazon that weighed 12 lbs. AllI needed was a box and for it to be put inside and taped. I had a postage paid sticker so no postage required. $ 27.00. I couldn’t believe it. I said, for a box? He said well the box, peanuts and my labor to pack it. If I wasn’t in such a hurry I would have walked out with my printer. The guy (some lady called him Bruno) was rude, unhelpful, and did I mention rude. I would never, ever go there again.
He has all kinds of signs up on the walls about bad attitudes. Someone should fill him in that he causes people to have bad attitudes!
Find another place to mail your stuff!

Great place on the hill to buy your boxes and other shipping needs. When I’m in need of boxes or any other shipping supplies I come in here. The employees are always very friendly and help find you a box that will fit your goods.
I recently needed an odd shaped box, and the gentlemen spent 5 – 10 minutes going through various boxes to find something that would work. That’s great service!
