I am going to give them 5 stars for having a shorter line than the Sbux across the way in Terminal A, BUT1 star for not carrying Splenda or at least a knock off version of sucralose. I really have to choose between pink and blue still? C’mon. But I added some walking distance for the day to go pick some up — courtesy of the Sbux with the super long line. I am rounding down to 2 stars overall. Near fail. Side note. For some reason my apple auto correct doesn’t like«sucralose». It corrected it to «Sixers Lose.» Lol. That’s funny.

While Starbucks doesn’t make a good cup of coffee I was even more disappointed by this coffee shop. I guess I was supposed to add a bunch of syrup to the latte to make it taste decent. Very burn tasting. Almost threw it away but I really need some caffeine. Oh well.

Needing a Cup of Java before catching my flight I strolled over to the Coffee Bean. Great Selection of Coffee, I got a cup of regular and it was perfect. They had great customer service and were friendly. I would stop back if in the area.

Hubs got a quick and healthy yogurt while I got a chi latte with a shot of espresso and whipped cream during a brief layout before our transatlantic flight to London. Staff were friendly and helpful. The gal making the yogurt cup my hubs ordered was friendly and joking with us and the fella making my chi latte with a shot of espresso was willing to add whatever I wanted to make the drink the way I thought I wanted it… because I wasn’t really sure what I’d had at another location and wanted to try to recreate. The yogurt was neat because you can choose your toppings from a variety of items they had there — granola, blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, honey, etc. I was impressed. Both our choices were yummy and the staff were friendly. Can’t ask for more than that!

Really?! 3.29 $ for hot water with a tea bag thrown in??? When I asked why they didn’t brew the tea like I’ve had in the past the manager ran to the back and the 2 teenage girls said ‘it’s the same thing’ I will not return and don’t recommend… very unmotivated employees/management.

$ 3 for a simple cup of black coffee, when she finally decided to serve me. Attitude, which seems to be standard in coffee shopps nown was free. Coffee was mediocre at best, but when you’re held captive choices are limited

Pathetic service… there was nobody in line when my husband walked up there were 3 people working all of which turned their backs and ignored him guess they dont serve white people. After waiting more than 2 minutes and still being ignored we left. will never go to this chain ever again anywhere in the US

Nice addition to the Detroit airport for transiting passengers. Some reviewers have pointed the higher prices being in an airport. I think that couldn’t be helped. That is the trend across not just the country but in other parts of the world as well. Being here in the midwest it’s a good change from Starbucks. Where I grew up I used to have coffee bean more often than other coffee chains. I remember liking their pure chocolate drinks both ice blended and hot before I started drinking coffee. And I still do that when I wanted a break from the caffeine-infused drinks. The cocoa power they used is very rich and gave a nice chocolate-y flavor to it. I also like their mocha and hazelnut latte. All the more reason to transit in Detroit. Note: On the occasions that I was there, there was only one barrister tending the store. I was lucky that there were no line. But if this is the case during peak periods, be prepared for a wait.

Worst latte of my life — bitter & thin, didn’t have a good consistently. Dry, flavorless bagel. But if you’re into tea, they have an amazing selection. They were not ready at opening, but their lights were on & door was open. I only went here because Starbucks’ line was 27 people long. I won’t be back.

The people here refuse to make some drinks after nine because the«blender is down» give me a break. Dumb that you can’t get everything on the menu after a certain hour. Might as well just close down altogether.

They didn’t make the tea strong enough. My tea latte tastes just like the vanilla powder with water with a hint of tea

Get the coffee, get the tea, get whatever you want but for the love of god don’t get the oatmeal.

Sigh. Wish I had a good review for here. The latte was good however it took almost 15 minutes to get our coffees. In an airport, that’s just too long except for a sit down restaurant. Hoping this was a new crew.

Love their tea, but server refused to fill a reusable mug because it was Starbucks branded. I’m not giving my money to a company that needlessly creates waste.

Friendly, fast service can’t overcome some seriously burnt coffee. I don’t have high standards but for a $ 4 iced coffee, a man has his standards. Such is the disappointing life of an airport Unilocaler…

Got my skinny dirty chai quickly and scalding hot(almost too hot actually). Of course, I was also the only customer they had so I didn’t expect otherwise. Overpriced.

The fact that there is a CBTL in the airport is one of my favorite things about flying into DTW. Such a refreshing change from the drivel at Starbucks. My only complaint is the prices. The«airport premium» here borders on lunacy for this location. Most drinks are 50 cents to $ 1 more expensive than they would be at their normal SoCal location. Because of that a Regular Latte is $ 5. Yikes. If you want to add Soy or any flavors to that drink, be prepared to pay upwards of $ 7.

I have visited several Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf locations out of state, and while waiting for luggage at the airport I thought I would try this one. The staff was very friendly, but from the get go I should have known there would be a problem when the staff member at the counter asked the other if they knew how to make the drink I ordered. After quite a long wait the drink I was given was completely wrong, and my mistake was to give up on assuming they would be able to competently correct it. My suggestion is to certainly try the Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf but be certain to step forward and ask a question if you think your drink is wrong!

Best place within Detroit Metro airport for coffee. Located adjacent to Gates 60, across from Gate 59 and next to Popeye’s, The Coffee Been has the smoothest coffee. They offer all the fancy concoctions or just plain olé coffee… light or bold… that’s leaps beyond the bilge at Starbuck’s. They have pastries, light snacks and fruits as well. Kind of cool is the condiment station where in addition to the usual cinnamon and chocolate, you’ll find shakers of cardamon, nutmeg and get this… cayenne pepper. My favorite is a plain coffee with a few shakes of cardamon and cayenne. It’s awesome.
