History

Established in 2015.

BKDowd Law, P.C. was founded in 2015 by an experienced Manhattan-​trained attorney with a desire to provide high quality legal services in intellectual property law at affordable prices to all sectors of industry particularly within her Suffolk County community. Betsy Kingsbury Dowd has over thirty years of meritorious experience as an engineer and scientist in industry, government, and start-​up companies on Long Island and in the practice of patent, trademark, and copyright law.

Prior to founding BKDowd Law, Ms. Dowd was a senior associate in the NYC office of Goodwin Procter, a leading Am Law 50 and Global 50 law firm. Her science career included several years as a science associate at the X-​Ray synchrotron (in Computed Tomography) at Brookhaven National Laboratory in Upton, NY, as an electro-​optical engineer at Perkin-​Elmer/​Hughes Danbury Optical Large Optics facility (on Hubble Space Telescope, and laser optics), and Eaton AIL (radar systems).
