Yesterday my wife and I, both underpaid but progressing and hard working Americans, made the most embarrassing mistake of assuming it was ok to use our food stamps to purchase cherries for $ 12. The only «sweets» we allowed our children on this shopping trip. Lorie, as it says on my receipt, decided it was necessary to mention how unaffordable this was for us and that our children «Don’t understand the Value of a hard earned Dollar!?» I work my ass off and teach my children to do the same at home and in school; they earn a small allowance for keeping up on chores so they do in fact understand the value of a dollar. Lorie then proceeded to tell my wife that she «saved $ 6, but I guarantee it was not on those cherries.» Then she also felt it was necessary to announce to the rest of the people in line behind us that, «your remaining ballance is on the bottom of the receipt.» The gentleman behind us asked how it was possible to see your balance at the bottom of a receipt. She then told him, as if it was her place to say, «Oh…they’re on food stamps.» I am a Disabled Marine Corps Veteran. On food stamps for all of 2 months in my life! Lorie I hope you get fired asap so nobody has to deal with uppity ass cashiers like you ever again. The manager said he would talk to her and get back to us but no word yet. This is not the first time we have had our personal business exploited like this at this Albertsons. It’s a small town and everyone knows everyone in one way or another. We are decent people going through a short period of financial hardship while trying to launch our company. I will not be returning to this Albertsons ever.

Good selection of products and shelves are always stocked, prices are sky high, some staff is friendly, checkout is slow and crowded, some days long lines and slow checkout, some isles are cramped with displays in the middle of the isles which makes it hard to maneuver your cart especially when very busy, gave this store only three stars for very high prices. Store is always clean. Parking is good to mediocre and sometimes dirty and somedays too many carts are left in the parking lot which makes it hard to park in a parking spot and then you are forced to park on the street because they are busy and the parking spots have carts in them still

Good luck finding another store as big as Albertson’s, Chris M. Your problem is not the grocery store, but the town you are «camped» out in. Albertson’s is the only large grocery store in Rosamond, and if I could write a review of the «city» of Rosamond I would give it ZERO stars. The only large grocery store in town is this one, and it is incredibly over priced for a store in a town that has so many poor to dirt poor and totally homeless residents. The 2^nd largest grocery store, KS grocers has much better prices especially considering they are a smaller store. They run every day specials unlike large stores that do weekly ones, like 4 lb bags of sugar for $ 2.99. So, Chris, try KS grocers on Sierra Hwy and Poplar St. And as far as Rosamond is concerned, why would you want to stay in a town where the water has poisonous chemicals in it so bad that they send warning notices to the residents about it? I got so sick of going to the water machines to get drinking water.

Currently camped 45 minutes from any source of food with deli meat that expired Aug 20 (over two months ago) that I purchased yesterday. To add insult to injury, I purchased the exact same thing for our Labor Day trip and it was also expired. You’d think I would learn! I check almost everything I buy, and when I don’t…I’m almost guaranteed to come home with something expired. The first time was also a camping trip when I prepared and served a pasta dish that expired six months earlier. Unbelievable! In my entire adult life, I have never purchased an expired product… they are everywhere in this store!
Watch out for the «manager’s specials,» which are marked down the day of or before their expiration, and often left out a day or more beyond.
I am also upset with the puppy vendors outside this store and, sometines, INSIDE! I complained to the manager, who basically told me to get over it.
Lines are also ridiculous any time between 5−7PM, as though the management can’t figure out their busy hours.
The employees are all great (save for the one manager) but I won’t be back.
Unreal. Will have to find another store. I just can’t with this store.

Their food is usually expired by weeks, bought packaged meat and it was almost 2 weeks old after sell date then bought frozen fruit and the sell by date was 4 months old!!! I usually check the expiration dates. But it shouldn’t be that far along on thier food everytime I go in there. Told the manager and she looked at my like I was stupid. And was like ok what do you want me to do about it… Ummm take it off the shelf so I don’t get food poisoning. Also that fact that everything is completely over priced but it’s the closest market unless I want to drive 20 – 30 minutes to get to another grocery store…

Over priced everything. Everything you buy at Albertsons is cheaper anywhere else. They are the main grocery store in town and know it.

–Lots of wine to choose from if you are wino like me
–The more you buy, the more you save on wines. 10−30%!
–Better selection than its competitors, but then there are no competitors within 20 miles
–Parking lot seemed a bit dirty and crowded
–Will return again for the friendly staff and service.

The people that work there are wonderful, the prices are way too high, I travel all over the United States, and its funny when you find California grown food in North Carolina at 10 cents on the dollar of what it costs here in California. California must do something about the ridiculously high price of taxes

I like having a good-​sized grocery store in our small town, and Albertsons is a nice one. It is clean, well organized, and all the employees seem very friendly.
Most of the time, I prefer using the self-​checkout option, since they are easy to use and are often faster. Occasionally though, I check out with the aid of an Albertsons cashier. I believe all of the folks working here deserve a 5-​star rating, for their professionalism and friendliness.
The decision to add a small Starbucks service area inside of Albertsons was a very smart decision in my opinion. I often enjoy a nice drink here, on special occasions.
The biggest draw-​back here is the high prices. Even if you live in Rosamond, it is unwise to do most of your shopping here since most of the items are rather pricey. It is quite convenient to be able to buy almost anything close to home, but usually, I only buy a small handful of things I need immediately. If I have to shop using a grocery cart, I almost always wait until I go into Lancaster or Palmdale, at a grocery store that is less expensive. It’s a shame, because if Albertsons could reduce their prices, I’m sure most other folks, like I would prefer to do, would do the majority of their shopping here. They could easily corner the market.

I rarely do review updates unless something major has changed with a location, but I do feel over a year later I have to knock Albertsons down a star.
They used to have the «three’s a crowd» rule where if more than 3 customers were waiting in line, someone would open a new register. Apparently they don’t do that anymore because yesterday I was in a line that wrapped its way down an isle. Two registers were open, plus the 4 self checkouts and there was a line for them all. I spent more time in line than getting the groceries I came for. Not cool.
The prices are high. Way high. Good luck with that.
The Starbucks is great to have in Rosamond– I don’t even try with Sister Sister anymore. But they close way to early. They are in Albertsons, they should close when Albertsons does.
The fried chicken area seems less than impressive as before. Disappointing. I used to really enjoy the wings.
BUT
I do find the employees much less creepy, and most actually are quite friendly. They get to know the customers and they seem to make more of an effort. I haven’t seen the woman who was haggling me (mentioned in my tip) that one day and following me around the store. Thank goodness.
And one other thing I do like is the stickers you get for pots and pans and other kitchen supplies when you buy groceries. It helps you to feel like maybe you aren’t getting screwed so bad when you can turn in your book of stickers for some new kitchen-​ware.

This place is wayyyy too overpriced. Sucks that it’s the only market in rosamond. Parking lot is sketchy at night. Bums everywhere. I have had people come right to me as I got out of my car saying they need money because of car trouble. Same excuses every time. One night I was parked by the taco bell and a man actually came up and knocked on my window asking for money! I cringe when I have to come here for something. Don’t let ur wife come alone after dark. Sketchy. I suggest driving a little and going somewhere else to shop.

It’s the only game in town. Prices are a lot higher than Wal Mart and one must carefully watch the expiration dates on EVERYTHING from spices, baking products, condiments, and especially anything in the dairy case.
However, there has been a positive change in the staff this past year. Employees seem to be much friendlier.

Leave your rude attitude at home and try coming to work in a better mood. Last thing anyone wants this early in the morning is your soured face and cranky and fussy attitude.
The quality of service here is questionable if management is hiring individuals like Rhonda. Is snapping at customers common place? Do all check out persons bark at the customer like Rhonda?
If Albertsons no longer uses phone numbers for the discount or the club program has been dismantled, do you feel you need to make the customer feel like an idiot? Why must you speak to me that way? Was customer service not included in the employee training? How could you present the information to me with out being insulting?
If I could go to another grocer, I would. I’m just glad this isn’t my grocer of choice, and after this incident, it never will be.
Trader Joes has their shit together. Go learn a lesson or two from them. And management, while you’re at it, go give your friend Rhonda a little reminder that her job requires more finesse in the handling of customers.

NOT the biggest fan of Albertson’s however we always get our food for race weekend here. They do not have any fresh deli made sandwiches, only pre-​made and they are just ok. The Deli has all the high fat, super mayo and fried offerings, not a lot of healthy options. They have lots of beer, ice and Gatorade … which is what Paul lives on during race weekend.

I noticed a lot of other reviewers complain about the prices, however I find that when I do visit this store I always say «I need to come here more often!». Their regular prices aren’t great, but when they have sales they are awesome! Albertsons’ sales beat Stater Bro’s lowest prices on a lot of items. I always peruse the weekly ad that is sent to my house. Also, the staff are very friendly here.

Overpriced food in an older building. The cashiers rarely seem happy to be there, and I doubt I would if I worked there. This place would not get much business if any other major grocers existed in Rosamond. I usually only shop here if it’s late and I don’t want to drive onto Edwards or into Lancaster.

Kind of overpriced but it’s clean and well organized. The staff are friendly and helpful. It’s better than going to walmart and having to deal with the wonderful types that practically make walmart what it is

I can’t believe this store receives anything above one star. It is the most expensive store I have ever shopped at. Cost wise, it is in the ballpark (and at times far exceeds prices) of upscale places like Whole Foods & Bristol Farms. Only, it’s FAR from upscale… and it’s Rosamond. The only people who can afford to shop here on a consistent basis are welfare and WIC recipients. Why? Cause it doesn’t matter how much things are. You can shop at ANY other store in the Valley and your grocery bill will be FAR cheaper. And that’s after you factor in gas and travel.
Meat is always questionable. Choice cuts are brown on the shelves because the clientele doesn’t know what tenderloin is. Good luck there. I have bought dog food that was rancid, noticed expired items, and have even been accosted in the parking lot by the myriad homeless who live between cars and behind dumpsters. Not only that, but you will be molested entering and leaving by derelicts selling their paint-​by-​numbers and wacky jewelry. Oh, and let’s not forget about the guy who sells mattresses out of the back of his truck!
And let’s not forget the «choice» customers who come from the low-​income slums to stay cool on the hot days. How great is it to see their kids tearing through the stores, jumping on your baskets, and buying 800.00 worth of food with government money. It’s joyous!
But hey! You can get Starbucks Coffee served by an Albertson employee with brown teeth… but only after 6:00 am when you’re prolly already out at work.
Trust me. Get in your car and drive down to Lancaster or Palmdale. Or, you can look to obtain a second job to pay for your weekly groceries at Albertsons in Rosamond. The choice is yours.

Well, I’m not a former employee. I am always suspicious of reviews by former employees, but at least Charlene was upfront about it.
I compare this store to the Albertson’s in Tehachapi and there is no contest: Tehachapi wins big time. Even though it’s only 10 miles from my house, as opposed to the 24 to Tehachapi, if I see something I want in the sales circular from Albertson’s I drive the 24 and stock up. I drive past this place to work 4 or 5 times a week, but I do my shopping for the week elsewhere.
(I also shop Stater Bros in Mojave, Save Mart in Tehachapi and various markets in Lancaster. Each place has specific things I target, usually when I’m nearby.)
Charlene is right about checking dates on stuff — they’re notorious for keeping dairy out after it’s sell by date. And if it wasn’t two days ago, you can bet the date is tomorrow (I can’t drink half a gallon of milk that fast.)
With the exception of the daily french bread, most of the bakery is just okay. Everything lacks in flavor and is twice as sweet as it should be. Why the same items are better at the Tehachapi store blows my mind.
Produce is just okay. Most of it is underripe and tasteless.
Meat is overpriced and much lower quality than Stater’s in Mojave. They have some seafood, but it’s scary. (Fish department shouldn’t smell like fish.)
Deli is hit or miss. I’ve never seen deli roast beef go south so fast as the beef from the Rosamond Albertson’s. Don’t bother buying it if it’s not on sale because without sale-​price quick turnover it will go bad before you get home.
I do stop by for milk (always check the dates!) and I buy a lot of cilantro and green onions here (highly perishable stuff under $ 2). They usually have a really good selection of «premium» ice creams (Haagen Daz and Ben and Jerry’s).
However, the employees are a pretty friendly bunch and usually helpful.

yes i am a former employee, let that not hinder your thoughts for what i am about to say of this store. Let me also add i am not a disgruntle former employee. that being said here we go,
Firstly, the respect given to employees by management is lacking in its utter most profound way! The amount of work getting done between the time of flirting or having affairs in this store amazes me. The pills being shared between employees that are not over the counter medicines is so wrong. The store director is more concerned of herself than any one of her employees. This store was falling to shambles when i became ill. I was forced to retiree early and be on disability due to respiratory illness. I could go on and on about this store with inside information they hope i do not write about.
I will not give them my business and would recommend you check all dates on every product before purchasing. As most employees have to work 3 positions each so that management can look as if [SHE] is saving on labor. I feel for the good employees still there. Sherri is awesome, Christina and Lori J, Eileen and many others. though i will exclude from the list of good employees Management [Jessica G, and Lori D].
