My car window was shot out during what was called a «Canton crime spree» and my insurance company recommended Safelite. I contacted them online and had an apt at my home for the next day. They called to tell me when they were coming, came out in the time frame that they said they would, and were very professional and efficient. Car window looks great and interior of car was vacuumed and looks better than before my window was smashed! I would highly recommend for convenience, price and excellent work.

This is the third time I’ve been to this location, as I own an Auto repair shop and we use this location to repair or replace our customers windshields when they are in need of repair.
First, April is a fantastic customer service representative. Her kind demeanor shines through and although we were unable to make our scheduled appointment at 8:00 am, she quickly and efficiently fit us in by offering three different times on the same day. I arrived early for my second appointment and actually got our car in BEFORE the second scheduled time.
Before they started the windshield replacement, the technician came into the waiting room and explained in detail that there would be panels removed that have a potential to break and that in the event that they did, I would be liable for the damage. These things happen in the repair business but the fact that they clearly explained the possibility separates the «blame factor» and the tech explained that he would be as gentle as possible which I felt he would.
Upon completion of the work, I was very satisfied and the entire process was explained in detail.
I am very satisfied with this location and will definitely continue to refer my clients as well as bring them in personally for my clients because I feel this location truly has my best interests at heart.

I have been a customer of Safelite for 3+ years. I’ve worked with them on a few windshield replacements and found them to be responsive to my requests, up until now. Unfortunately, each time I get a windshield replacement from them, the mirror pops off within one year. They definitely agree to replace it again under the warranty (as expected), but the issue is two-​fold: 1) the mirror keeps popping off within 12 months and this has resulted in me needing to go back to their site to have it looked at and re-​repaired (times 2). 2) When they were able to come to me they left without attaching wipers. I had to make an appointment for them to put them back on, and the technician never showed up or called; I had taken a half dayoff of work to wait for the service (4 hours). I then had to reschedule and could not drive the car when it rained. I was given $ 50 for the trouble of the wipers and the no-​show.
Last week, the mirror popped off again. Once again, I was asked to come into a service center to have it assessed and most likely replaced, again. I requested a refund instead. I’d rather try to get a windshield one time and have that windshield work and last. I do not have the time or schedule to go into Safelite whenever the mirror pops off and to wait for another windshield. With all that has gone wrong in my dealings with Safelite, I thought they would understand that this is just too much, and that a refund in this unusual case is warranted. I spoke to about 5 people at Safelite today, each telling me the next person was the one who could determine whether or not a refund was warranted. I was placed on hold for about 30 minutes total during the phone transfers. The last person I spoke to, the manager at the Safelite location that I’ve used, said that under no circumstances would a refund be given. He stated that he must follow policy and their policy is only to replace/​repair a defective windshield. He told me I am welcome to come get it fixed again but in no way would I be given a refund. I understand policies and their purpose, and I also understand seeing a deviation from the normal customer experience and granting a refund when appropriate. I was not offered $ 5, $ 15, $ 100, or the ~$ 400 I paid for the windshield. I was offered nothing except to spend my time going to the Safelite location for another inspection and repair. I am extremely surprised at this response to my inquiry and request. It is the right thing to do to acknowledge that at this point the windshiled is not going to work properly in my car and it’s time to issue a refund. I know that someone at Safelite has the authority to issue refunds and likely one of the 5 people to whom I spoke today could have done that. However, I was only repeatedly told that my only option is to come in to get a replacement windshield and that a refund of any kind would not be the resolution. Yet, that is the resolution I requested after trying to go the route of repair and replacement 2 times prior. I am very disappointed in the customer service and will certainly tell others to beware of this organization and their policies in the future.

I learned this lesson the hard way a couple of years ago — if you don’t repair a chip in your windshield, it will get larger and you’ll wind up replacing the whole thing. At that time I also learned that GEICO will have Safelite do repairs for free… so when my wife’s car got a chipped windshield, it was a no-​brainer to contact my insurance company and this fixed right away.
The technician, Taylor M., was was right on time. GEICO gave me a window of 8:00 to noon, and at around 8:15, Taylor called and said she expected to be at our house between 9:30 and 10:30. Sure enough, she showed up at 10:00 and completed the job in about forty minutes. You can still see the chip, especially from the inside, but it’s not going to get bigger, so mission accomplished. She even vacuumed out the car and cleaned all the windows. Nice!
Also, I wanted to mention that Safelite will send you an email the day before your appointment with the name and picture of the technician assigned to your job. Definitely a great idea for your safety and security — peace of mind knowing who is going to come knocking on your door.

After a recent break-​in at the light-​rail station in Timonium, my insurance company put me in touch with Safelite to handle my window repair. Fortunately it was only a driver’s side window, which, on first blush, was an easy enough fix.
Safelite will come to your residence or place of business to do repairs, which is very convenient, although they do use the Comcast method of giving a four-​hour appointment window. Mine happened to be 8 – 12 on a Monday morning, and it actually turned out better than I thought, with the technician, Kurt, showing up at my house promptly at 9:15. So far so good, I would get my car fixed and have most of a day of work left.
And then we hit the set-​back, and really the sole reason for this mediocre rating. Karl arrived to fix my driver’s side window, but, for some reason, they had given him a passenger side window to replace. Having repeatedly informed the dispatcher of which window needed to be fixed, and having double-​checked that I had not wandered into the UK by accident, this was a bit shocking. Kurt mentioned that his was the second time today, so it seems to be a running issue with dispatch.
Having realized the problem, Kurt had to run back to their shop to fetch a new window, which added an extra hour to my waiting time. Upon his return, the repair was quick, professional, and clean, with very few bits of tempered glass left within the vehicle, and none larger than pea size.
Overall a good service, if only their dispatchers could learn to differentiate left and right in car lingo…

I’m all about time, so I give it 5 stars for punctuality. I called on a Saturday morning around 11 to get my rear back window fixed (which was completely gone after a break in) They told me 2:00, I was a little late and they called around 2:15 to check in on me. I got there and the woman was very friendly, a tad overly friendly but I can tell it was just her personality. The guy who fixed my window came in shook my hand and I signed off and before 3:30 I was gone! boom bam zip! It was a few chips of glass left though, they should vacumn better.

The work is satisfactory, but the cleanup is shoddy! I had a window replaced after a break-​in, which they assured me would be done and all the glass cleaned up in about an hour. Sure enough, the call came in and it was completed in under an hour. Unfortunately, there was glass everywhere — the floor, the mats, the console, and the seats.
I saw a bit of glitter on the vinyl inside by the frame and swiped my finger over it, only to find that it was (I should have known) extremely-​finely shattered glass dust, which promptly cut my finger in several places. I brought it back in and asked them to take care of it, so they wiped the vinyl in that one spot and did a cursory vacuum — it was under 5 minutes. Of course, there was still glass everywhere, so I gave up, went home, and scheduled a detailing — which DID take care of it.
When contacted about the poor clean-​up, they made a big show about being customer-​oriented, but ended up doing nothing more than saying they’d do better if I brought it back. No, thank you — the job was done right by a third-​party, and a second chance is one too many.
