Avalon Roseland

We are very happy here at Avalon Roseland. The development is very beautiful and well maintained. The pool and fitness centers are beautiful! The apartments/​townhouses are very large, bright and airy. The kitchen has stainless steel appliances and granite counter tops as well as plenty of cabinet space. Each of our two bedrooms has a full bath and spacious walk-​in closet. The main floor has a great sized den and two very large closets. The garage is a big plus and you can enter from the apartment.
The entire staff here is friendly, professional and responsive. The AvalonAccess website is perfect for requesting any service needed, and we have always been contacted quickly with a response and satisfied with the resolution. If you are looking for a move, check out Avalon Roseland!

We really like Avalon Roseland. The community is beautiful. It is well maintained and the staff are really attentive and help.
The facilities and common areas are very nice. Great gym and pool area. It is also dog friendly with a dog park. Becker Park next to Avalon is great for a run.
The units themselves are mostly 3 story townhouses. Inside, the kitchens all have stainless steel appliances and granite countertops. The bedrooms have nice sized walk-​in closets and, at least in our unit, each has its own full bath. Every unit has a garage too, so you can get into warm car with no snow on it in the winter.
The location is actually very convenient. It’s right off 280 which makes it easy to get to Newark Airport or Newark Penn Station. Very close to a nice, under-​utilized mall in Livingston and Route 10 has everything you can think of.
This part of Essex county is foodie paradise. A mile or so away, Bloomfield Ave, starting in West Caldwell and running to Montclair, is maybe the best restaurant row outside of New York City.
Avalon is not cheap but we wanted the amenities so we are ok with the rent for now. Hopefully they won’t kill us when the lease comes up for renewal.

I decided to apply online without even seeing the Avalaon at Roseland Apartments and paid online, and paid the charge for the application. I wasn’t sure if I wanted to live at the Avalon in Roseland or the Avalon at Florham Park, so I contacted Florham Park and told them I was interested and if they could contact Roseland for my application because I already paid $ 125 for it. They then proceeded to tell me that EVEN though it is the same exact company they had top run my Credit AGAIN and pay another $ 125 application fee, but was promised I would be reimbursed by the office at Avalon Florham park for one of the fees. So I decided to go look at Florham Park and gave them a $ 500 deposit on a Saturday to hold the aparmtent, and was told I had 3 days to change my mind. Well I decided against Avalon all together, and could not get in contact with them because the rental office was CLOSED on Sunday and Monday. I called them on TUESDAY morning, and I told them I would not be renting and they had the nerve to tell me that since they have a website, an since people can rent and hold apartments online, they were going to keep half my deposit! I know for a fact because I was told the Apartment has been sitting empty since August! (4 months)! I told them that was the most ridiculous thing I EVER Heard, and told them I was cancelling my check. So I was never returned my application deposit of one of the TWO apartments complexes of Avalon, and to make matters even MORE ridiculous, I was approved by Florham Parak Avalon with my Credit but Avalon at Roseland said I needed a Co-​Signer! So I had my MOTHER contact them and give her information. So I get a phone call now 2 months later telling me I owe them $ 125 for having my MOTHER Co-​Sign for THAT Application Fee! So they are trying to get me for THREE APPLICATION FEES on an apartment that I never rented, and was NEVER told at any time that I would have to pay more money for adding a Co-​Signer.
This Company takes you for money, and their practices are unethical and ridiculous. I am so Glad I NEVER Rented from them as I can only imagine what it would be to live there!
THEY OWE ME MONEY FOR WHAT I WAS PROMISED AS A REFUND OF THE APPLICATION FEE AND NOT ONLY ARE THEY NOT GIVING IT TO ME, THEY ALSO ARE TRYING TO CHARGE ME FOR THE CO-​SIGNER ADDED ONTO THE APPLICATION AT THE AVALON IN ROSELAND… I have already contacted an attorney on this, as they have the nerve to try to threaten my CREDIT. I am also contacting Fair Housing in NJ about this unbelievable company.
