We started kitchen remodel with Kin and ended up remodeling 2 bathrooms with him.
My experience with him were great. He listened to our picky requests and offered me several alternatives too. He did many extra things for me throughout the remodel.
There were a few unexpected things happened. Kin was very honest and worked diligently to fix the problems!
Also I think his price is reasonable. I picked materials and he charged me the labor. He sometimes buy something and gave me the receipt. It’s very fair. I trusted him and his long term crews. I often left home while they are working.
One impressive episode, my son accidentally hit the new kitchen cabinet, Kin was so kind he replaced it at no cost!
3 remodel projects took about 3 month (some rests between the projects) he has been very honest and provided professional job. I really recommend him. I will call him again for our next project.

Horrible customer service practices… Kin came to my home with a partner of his (which gets him his 1 and only star). He was very friendly and knowledgeable. I was really thinking we found the guy for us. I walked him around and explained our project to him in detail, they took measurments, etc. He promised to get back to me with a quote that night so I could discuss it with my husband. I was excited to get started. 1 – 2 weeks later still no word from him (per my many attempts to contact him) regarding our estimate. He just disappeared. Couldn’t be bothered. So disappointing /​unprofessional to just leave someone hanging… If your not interested «just say it! No big deal!». Seems like he’ll only take on a job only if it’s gonna be in the range of $ 13,000. or more based on our conversation, otherwise he simply can’t be bothered. …little does he know that excelling on our small condo face lift would have opened up so many more doors for him because… I come from a large family who owns a lot of rental property in LA, Silverlake, etc. and I have a lot of Beverly Hills clients who are always looking for new people to work with. Ohh well! …Potentially his loss. Moral of the story «Never judge a book by its cover»

We were looking to do a kitchen remodel on a tight budget. So glad we used Kin and his crew. Everything went perfect, was well coordinated, and each day the work area was kept very clean. We really enjoyed working with Kin, especially his recommendations and input to help us stay in budget. He is very conscientious and sensitive to your needs. I have already recommended him to friends and we definitely plan on using him again!

Kin sent me a private message and threatened me with slander for leaving a review regarding his company. This Unilocal website is to inform consumers and not to threaten them. I will contact Unilocal myself. If you cannot give me an estimate or is not willing to do the work, please say so. But to ignore us without an estimate when you promised is unacceptable. Since Kin did not follow through with the estimate, we did not get new Kitchen Cabinets from him. But instead we got them from Elegant Cabinets /​Mr. Kwok is the owner 626−242−5815 and they are located at 2218 Chico Ave in El Monte as the prices are very good and the guy custom builds these cabinets with Canadian wood instead or prefab Cabinets that Kin was trying to sell to us. Elegant Cabinets also has a guy that does the granite, marble or quartz counter tops at a very good price and the workmanship is excellent.

My parents had asked me to help them find someone to remodel their kitchen about a year ago, and I called the first company I found on Unilocal,which happened to be Kin’s company. Since then, he has not only done my parent’s kitchen, but also their roof, their bathroom, replaced the gate around their house, installed windows and sliding glass doors, and a front door security system. Now Kin has remodeled our kitchen, and we are having him and his crew return to redo our bathrooms.
Kin’s prices are very reasonable, and he and his crew are fair, honest and easy to work with, which is very difficult to find with most contractors. He cares about the quality of his work, and will do his best to accommodate any requests or details.
He is very busy and works a large area (my parents live in Montebello, and we live in Chino Hills), but he managed to finished our kitchen in 2– 2.5 weeks. In comparison, I have had friends who said their kitchen remodel took 1 – 2 months. Kin will provide an itemized invoice, as well as a 3D model of the cabinets. From there, you can request or work out the details that you want. You can have him supply the materials, or you can supply your own, and he will just charge you for the labor, which is what we did for a few items that we were particular about. If there is anything unexpected that comes along, Kin will clearly explain to you the reason and give you an estimate upfront.
My parents and I are both happy with the cabinets. They have pull-​out drawers, a corner lazy-​susan, a trash bin area, and a spice rack, and all for a fraction of the price you might find at big box retailers.
I would say that if he does not immediately reply to your request for an estimate, give him another call or send him another email. I think I had to do that a couple of times, but it’s not something I minded at all, because I know how busy he is, and he is generally good about getting back to you. He also responds quickly to text messages.
Overall, I recommend Kin and his company highly. He is conscientious about his work, and both my parents and I trust him with anything that needs to be done.

My parents’ home was in desperate need of a more modern kitchen design. I thought I would help them find a contractor in the SGV area and I came across this company on Unilocal.From the beginning, Kin seemed honest and reliable and he always broke things down for us to make sure we were all on the same page. The kitchen came out beautiful and my parents couldn’t be happier!
Overall I was very pleased with the work and the way we were treated. The fact that he spoke fluent Spanish was also a plus! They definitely deserve 5 stars and more customers. Thank you JK!

I met Kin through a referral from my real estate agent. She worked with Kin on a number of her own places, so I trusted her judgment. Kin helped me with:
— Completely revamping 2 bathrooms (one master, one guest)
— Removing popcorn ceiling
— Changing carpet to hardwood floors
— Painting the interior
— Adding recessed lights
He provided an invoice from the onset, itemized by each item, so that you know what the cost would be. He worked with me closely throughout the process, to understand exactly what I wanted. The results were great and I’ve been getting compliments from my guests. He also provided candid feedback on whether I should or shouldn’t do certain things to the house (e.g. I wanted to fix up the kitchen, but he recommended giving it a few more years). Since completion, he has been checking in to see if things are working properly. I would definitely recommend Kin as a contractor!

As a designer who is responsible for million dollar projects, I’ve worked with several contractors and am always in search of one that I can bring on to larger future projects to work with without hesitation. What better way to test the quality of a contractor than with a small project for your home? Kin did not fill that void.
From the very beginning, he was very hard to get a hold of and when he promised to call, there was always a delay. Although his company works mainly in San Gabriel, I will give him a little credit for driving to irvine for an estimate. After the estimate, he gave us a ball park number and told us he can do the work.
THEN came 4 days later… after discussing flooring and having him place the order for the flooring, he sends us an email and says that we should have a handyman install instead. UHH… why waste our time? Time is money and for every day that is delayed in moving in, we spend money on an empty home that we cannot enjoy.
It was very unfair of him to change his mind after issuing a quote and agreeing to order materials. sure, it’s a small project but if the scope is too small and the area is too far away, then tell us earlier so we don’t expect you to buy materials that take a week to ship! We literally asked him for 2 days to place the order for flooring but he kept stalling. We wanted to start work this weekend and we can’t even do that now because we had to place the order last minute ourselves… it takes a week at least to ship!
Conclusion:
This is how I see it. Anyone can install cabinets and remodel a kitchen but it takes a special kind of contractor to stay true to his word. Hell, if he changes his mind a week into our small little project, can you just imagine what would happen if he changes his mind mid-​way through a million dollar project?
2 stars is pushing it.

JK Construction and Kin’s Team has been very good with working with my whole kitchen and bathroom remodel. They were so efficient that it took about 2 weeks for complete demo, floors, cabinets. It was another few days to complete painting, granite, sink, painting, touch ups. I was very prepared and even provided Kin a folder of my expectations, flooring, measurements. Kin and Ricardo either positively assured something would work or they were honest to say it would take extra time or money. Their forwardness help me decide which direction to go. I highly recommend JK Construction and encourage the home owner/​project designer to lay everything out for JK: ideas and numbers in writing. It assures everyone to be on your page. I have never been happier working with this construction company. Kin is very professional and goes above and beyond your remodeling needs. He did a beautiful job with our kitchen remodel. He takes away all the fears of remodeling because he is very responsible, trustworthy, honest and does good work. I highly recommend working with kin on your next project!

My husband and I were referred to Kin of JK Stone & Construction through a friend who’s had her house remodeled by Kin. His rates are very reasonable and he is very patient and careful, and extremely dependable. Kin takes photos of the work being done and sends them to our cell phones or emails so we are always updated with the status. We had to have some work done while being out of the country, and we trusted him enough to give him our house key while we were gone so that he could work on the house. Highly recommended!

I found Kin through Unilocal and had him come give me an estimate. From the start, he was very professional and thorough. Most importantly, he’s a VERY honest guy. This is a rarity in construction and he made it easy to trust him. I even trusted him enough to allow work to continue while I was out of town. I knew that Kin would be able to do what was right for the project. The job was completed of high quality and also reasonably priced. Believe it or not! There are people in this world who still do business the right way. They have business sense and are very professional. I contacted JK Stone to request for an estimate and they responded very quickly. He remodeled my father’s kitchen and looks awesome! I was recommended to Kin Chau by a friend who had their Kitchen remodeled by Jk Stone & Construction. He’s a licensed contractor and EPA certified. I needed my old kitchen remodeled and he offered the best rates in the San Gabriel Valley. I did a lot of shopping and even considered doing the installs myself but instead let Kin install them for me. His line of Kitchen Cabinets were very reasonably priced. Did I mention free 3D kitchen design? That came in very handy so that I’d have an idea of what my cabinet set-​up was going to be like. After meeting with him he started the project and finished in a timely manner. Every thing went smoothly. I highly recommend using Jk Stone & Construction for any kitchen or bathroom remodeling.
