Dessert is just okay. Most of them are mango flavor. Overall it’s a little bit too sweet for me. The traditional dessert is not that good. Average Service. To be honest, average is not enough for a new place.

100th review! First off, it’s noteworthy to mention the bathroom here is amazingly clean for an authentic Asian joint. Oddly it smells even more of durian in there than in the restaurant, but I don’t want to think too hard about why that may be, lol. I prefer Sweet Heart for their soupy mango desserts and Premier Dessert Art for their pancakes and sweet rolls. Sweet Heart is also a bigger and nicer-looking place to take people. Food is good and they speak English. Can get crazy busy on weekend nights. Not too sweet compared to American-style desserts. Service is pleasanter than most Asian joints. Everyone we’ve encountered here is friendly, nice, and good about things like bringing or refilling your ice water. When they brought something we didn’t order they didn’t make a big deal about changing it out. They actually say things like«Thank you» and«Have a great one» instead of ignoring you when you leave. I like all their mango things, especially anything with longan, pomelo, or sago. #2 with boba, or Dragon Ball II are my usuals. Their pancake and sweet rolls have less whipped cream and more fruit than at Premier, which I appreciate(though at Premier you can specify if you want more or less whipped cream than the default amount). One time they ran out of mango pancake outside so they wrapped it in the durian pancake, which I am not a fan of. They made the substitution without asking us first, which imho is a dangerous move when substituting a love-it-or-hate-it item like durian-flavored anything. Their mango sweet roll is ok but the wrapper is thicker and less firm than at Premier. I used to think they used canned mango, but one time I had some that tasted less sweet and ripe than usual so now I’m not sure. Maybe it’s fresh and they marinate it in syrup to sweeten it? As for non-mango items, their watermelon served in a half a mini watermelon is good but HUGE. I think it’s enough for 2+ people depending on how hungry they are. The watermelon itself does not taste sweetened, though there’s some kind of deathly sweet syrup mixed in with the juice(from the jellies?). It comes with huge ice cream-shaped scoops of watermelon, basil seeds, nata de coco(my favorite jelly-like thing), mango popping boba, grass jelly, and some other flavor of jelly. I don’t think all their tofu and stuff are bought from the store like someone accused them of. It’s not cost-effective to pay supermarket prices on it; the profit margin would be too low. I think the presentation is an issue because they can’t remove it from the container it was made in without it falling apart. To serve it in a glass goblet they would have to make it in there, and I’m not sure how that would play heated up and it certainly would take up too much space to store and isn’t something you can make to order or it would be too slow(it takes hours to make tofu from scratch).

I went here after a nice massage at alibaba. We saw pictures on Unilocal and it reminded me of desert places in Hong Kong. I was super excited! However, it was decently good but not great. It was a little pricier than I expected. Had the prices been slightly lower, I would’ve given it another star. You don’t get much bang for your buck here.

This is one of the better Cantonese dessert places around the area for me. Cash only. There was plenty of seating when I went, and the waitress was friendly. Our desserts were served quickly and presented nicely. I tried the durian addiction and durian ecstasy. The durian addiction was good, very creamy vanilla snow with a scoop of durian and a scoop of black sticky rice. Not overwhelmingly sweet, not too much durian. Durian ecstasy was not as easily agreeable. I thought I would like the green tea ice cream but wouldn’t really care for the lemon ai-yu jelly, but turns out the jelly added a refreshing, light touch to the creamy dessert. The green tea ice cream was fighting for the spotlight with the durian, rather than complimenting it. It was just a bit overwhelming. Overall, this place is good, just decide for yourself whether the flavors you’ll be getting will compliment each other well!

this place was better than I thought it would be, the food was good and the waiters were nice and friendly. I ordered their #2 and #12 and I liked them. They use fresh mangoes and fresh pomelo for the dessert(#2), and it taste like the ones I had in HK, so I definitely recommend it. For snacks, I tried chicken cartilages and Hong Kong style egg waffle. I was pretty amazed by the egg waffle, it was like the best one I had compare to the ones from green island or tasty garden, the one from here was really good, is crispy outside and soft inside, going to go back to get their egg waffle!

Hong Kong style dessert… I guess you can call this. Majority of their desserts are made with Mango! Sweet and ripe mango! You’ll see cases of them and cases of malteses. If you like sago and grass jelly and tang yuan(glutinous sweet rice balls) try this place out. In my opinion, desserts were okay. I ordered Mango pills, The ring, sweet tofu pudding with added sesame purée on top, and sweet mango soup. Mango overload: P The sesame purée they gave me was bitter and tasted burnt. Phoenix makes it way better. Tofu pudding was not as silky smooth like others I’ve tried, this dessert was the least favorite. I was curious about the mango soup since the girl at the counter says it was one of the best sellers. It just tasted like mango purée with added chunks of mango. I think I enjoyed mango pills the most out of all the ones I’ve tried. The ring is a coconut base mango dessert with rice balls, mango, sago and jelly. Meh… maybe I’ll try this place again but next time I’ll try the durian ecstasy!

New open desert place. I came here for curry fish cake ball. Then I found out that they even had steam crystal noodles. That’s one of my favorite HK appetizer! Feel so lucky to find it in LA. Food: The appetizers and deserts are great. Authentic HK style. Service: Not so good, they seem short of hand, slow food delivery. All the staff speaks Cantonese to all customers. I don’t have a problem speaking Cantonese, but not everyone understands. They should be more professional in term of service, at least speak English for«how many ppl» first. Come here early for dinner if you can. Cuz there will be long lines after around 8:00 pm.

The tofu pudding isn’t good. I got the mango tofu pudding thinking I would have nice fresh tofu with a generous topping off fresh mango. What I got was some old box tofu they probably got at the supermarket next door. The tofu was weird tasting, not silky in consistency, more like a gelatin… Topping consisted of canned mango, the mushy kind that is overly sweet. In addition, the dessert is topped off with a mochi that tasted like knock off China produced mochi-there was an unpleasant floral aftertaste. Lastly, they give me the dessert in a crappy plastic cup they probably bought the tofu in. The container was presented in a glass cup, it just seemed so pointless. If you are charging $ 6 – 7 for this mess at least have the decency of making it presentable…

This place reminds me of Hong Kong :’) All their snacks and desserts are just like the ones in Hong Kong. It brought back so many memories just looking at their menu. The one snack I seriously grew up with is the steamed rice rolls with sesame and hoi sin sauce and they have it here! I know of a few Hong Kong cafes that sell it but this place definitely beats them all. There were a good amount of rice rolls per order and the sauces were just amazing. I do wish they put a little bit more of the sesame sauce but that can easily be solved. My mom ordered the sweet black sesame soup and unfortunately they ran out of materials to make a whole one. So they asked if it was okay to make it into a half sweet walnut & black sesame soup. I only tried the black sesame side and I wish the sesame flavor was stronger. The soup wasn’t too sweet which was a good thing and the consistency was great, not too thick or thin. My mom’s friend ordered the curry beef sandwich and I thought it tasted pretty good. I don’t think I would order it on my own but it was good to try. The curry beef was on the saltier side but probably because they normally add it to the noodles soup? Their service was great and the lady that took our order was very attentive. She even gave us free red bean pudding for waiting to get seated. I already have a few desserts in mind that I would like to try, so I’ll definitely be back!

Mango heaven! I couldn’t help but notice half of their dessert menu is mango which automatically made me a huge fan :) Definitely reminds me of the desserts I ate in Hong Kong! Good price for big portions! I loved the mango chills and mango pills but probably chills over pills heheh I’ll definitely be back to try some of their food next time!

I’m a bit on the border with Sweet Heart Dessert House. For one, their ambiance is kind of cold, a bit dim lit… pretty much could use some work. Their service is a bit odd too, the ladies taking your order will automatically speak to me in Cantonese… which I’m not… and are a bit pushy. I don’t get a good vibe when I’m here. BUT their dessert(which is what I should be commenting on) is actually pretty good! I’m impressed with the quality of their sweets. They seem very mango based, and their items are all pretty similar. Sweet mango, tapioca balls, mochi, boba, pomelo, sago sweet soup… typical sweet Hong Kong style dessert items. The items that we tried were actually perfect. I was afraid that they’d be overly sweet, and gross me out after 2 bites… but I actually couldn’t stop eating! What’s great is that you’re able to customize your order. They have specific desserts that are already planned out, but if you ordered one that came with mango, boba, and flan, and you don’t want boba, you can ask them to swap out the boba with whatever other option you want! Great! Although I’m not crazy about the ambiance here, sometimes a lot of high school students come in and play games, I’ll definitely be back to try some of their other desserts!

You know those Mango Sago desserts and hot rice ball soups? Yep… Sweet Heart dessert has them! Located in a semi hard to find strip mall between the McD’s and shin sen gumi strip malls, the store usually has plenty of tables whenever I visit. They specialized desserts such as bird’s nest for all you ladies who wanna splurge $$$ and rejuvenate your body! They also have sesame purees, hot rice balls, cold sagos with durian & strawberry & mango. It appears that a majority of desserts have mango… and trust, their mango is usually on point! Essentially, they have a full two pages of hot/cold desserts all ranging in the $ 5 – 6 range. And if thats not enough, feel free to order rice dishes, curry fish balls, etc from the regular menu. Their desserts I’ve tried all have semi cute presentation for pictures, but the flavors didn’t wow. They were just alright. The sweetness level of perfect though, nothing ever makes my teeth itch. And one more thing. the pictures on the menu are all yellow-tinged which really, really doesn’t help-.- everything looks mango-y!

Came here with my GF for dessert. We just had Szechuan Food so we needed something to cool us down and this place looked pretty cool. Never seen or heard of this place before so it must be kind of new. It is located inside a plaza were parking sucks — the private lot is tiny so I had to circle around a few times before parking. The establishment is small and slick. The décor and furniture is pretty nice. Not sure what my GF ordered but I got the #7 Mango Pills(Mango, Mochi, Taro Balls, Yam Balls, Mango Boba). Although I wasn’t able to taste the Taro or Yam balls, I really enjoyed this dessert in general. It was light, sweet and refreshing! The portions were a bit small for the price, but I would definitely come back. Definitely something different that your traditional heavy desserts.

I was looking for an alternative to boba and teas, so decided to try out this Asian dessert place. The boyfriend and I shared #15 Mango Sunset($ 5.99) with mango bits, grass jelly, coconut jelly, and one mango mochi ice cream in sage. The creamy, milky soup-based dessert is very refreshing and lightly sweet. I really enjoyed that the most. We also got #8 Popcorn Chicken($ 4.50) and #63 Mango Pudding($ 2.50). The mango pudding was minimal, but very silky and smooth. The popcorn chicken was also tasty and crispy, but I would like a spicy option. Overall, we spent $ 17 plus tip for two. It’s good but can add up to be pretty pricey.

If you like durian, they have a wide selection of durian desserts. And the same with mango. I’m not a big fan of durian, but there are also other desserts and snacks. I got the Strawberry ice cream and Panna Cotta. It was decent. Overall, it’s a nice place to chill. They have a lot of seating. The staff are friendly and efficient. If you really enjoy durian and mango, this might be the place for you. Just not for me.

Sweet Heart Dessert House opened during the hot summer months and delighted its guest with their large variety of mango desserts. I couldn’t help but wonder what they would serve when Mango is out of season, and I happy to see that they have added new items to the menu as Mango are tasteless in the winter months. They always have great service at Sweet Heart Dessert House, but I was initially disappointed with the extremely long wait time for a table and the food during the summer months. I guess I should give them a break as it was a hot spot when it first opened its doors. I have to give the staff props for offering a courtesy discount after I had to wait for 45 minutes for my food. Overall… Great Dessert Large Menu — including food, drinks, desserts Better than Premier Dessert! Note: Please try carpooling with your friends to this location. Store is located in the same plaza as Tip Top Sandwich, Le Arbre and Noodle Boy, and usually lacks parking spots.

Like some other reviewers mentioned, it does smell like durian upon walking into Sweet Heart Dessert House. I love that Hong Kong desserts are getting more and more popular around the 626! This dessert house is located in the same plaza as Le Arbre and Noodle Boy, in the plaza adjacent to Sam Woo’s. If you come during busy hours, chances are you won’t be able to find parking unless you are lucky. There’s plenty of tables as well as a few more outside of the restaurant. I believe this place is popular for their mango pomelo sago in an ice bowl. Personally, I found it to be a little pricey to be paying a few extra dollars for a bowl of ice that would only keep the dessert cold rather than add any flavor. They also seem to specialize in «mango» desserts — mango with tapioca, mango with longan and pomelo, mango with jelly noodles … basically if you’re not a fan of mango, I wouldn’t recommend this place. I tried the Mango Chills — mango, mango boba, crystal jelly, grass jelly, and sago soup in a bowl. For $ 5.99, I don’t think the dessert was worth it. The flavor was a little more on the sour side, and the mangoes didn’t taste too fresh. Honestly, I think I could have made something like this at home(minus the crystal jelly). My parents tried the more traditional desserts — sweet walnut soup($ 3.50) and the egg stew with milk($ 4). These were also very underwhelming. The sweet walnut soup did not have the strong walnut taste that the one at Première Dessert had. Instead, this one tasted a bit more watered down and lackluster. My dad wasn’t a big fan and said he preferred Première’s. As for the egg stew with milk … my grandma likes to dabble in making egg stew tapioca, and hers had a much stronger flavor of that egg than Sweet Heart’s. I did like that Sweet Heart’s egg stew was very smooth, but other than that, the flavor was just okay. tl;dr: They do serve food and drinks here. The décor on the walls were cute and the place isn’t a bad place to go to hang out, eat, and catch up with friends. If you like mangoes, I would think you’d probably like this place. But due to my underwhelming experience, I wouldn’t recommend anybody who is a fan of Hong Kong desserts to come here.

Frankly, I am a little surprised that I really like it here. PARKING Located in the same plaza as Le Arbre. Parking can get difficult — there is ample amount of spots in the lot but it can get busy! They also have some more parking all the way in the back, so check that out too. INTERIOR/EXTERIOR Very simple interior. Personally, I really like the black and white theme but it does lack some warmth that color can bring. A big plus for the cleanliness inside too. MENU They have a huge selection — from coconut and taro to durian and more. The menu is almost mango everything, which works out since I am a big fan. My friends and I ordered a couple of items. We ordered the Mango Rolls, Mango Pills, The Ring, Chicken Wings, and the Chocolate Fondue set. My favorite was the Hong Kong waffles from the Chocolate Fondue set. Though I am not sure the set is worth the price, I would come back just for the Hong Kong waffles alone. The fondue was a fun experience though — tiny candle campfire keeping our chocolate warm. SERVICE Very nice workers — the female taking care of our table was very nice and sweet. The service was welcoming, and my friends and I were able to chill for a bit after our desserts.
