Carlucci Rosemont

Food was good. Service was fair. I ordered tea but didn’t get it and then I ordered it again and he still didn’t bring it.

Met here with a large group of people for a business dinner. The first thing we noticed was how noisy and crowded the restaurant was. I swear they use every single square inch of floor space. More than once I bumped into someone who was already seated because there wasn’t enough space to navigate.
My meal was delicious. I had the ribbon pasta with wild boar ragu. Every bite was a mouthful of flavor. My wife had the risotto and said that it was good, but not as flavorful as it was the last time.
The downsides of the night were the noise, the cramped restaurant, and this awful dishwasher-​ish smell that emanated from somewhere nearby. The door leading to the terrace-​ish area was open so we closed to to try and lose the smell, but the staff kept opening it. Also, our waiter was a bit impersonal and seemed rushed. It almost felt, at times, that he was inconvenienced, but that could have just been me misreading things.
Overall, not a horrible experience and if we stay up near O’Hare we may go back.

The food was great — especially the calamari appetizer and Linguine con Prosciutto
di Parma e Basilico. Our waiter, William «Grumpy» Stimpel was fabulous! He was extremely attentive and surprised us with a piece of their delicious tiramisu for our birthday recipient. The only negative was the noise level due to the restaurant being packed and the number of large parties.

We had our son and daughter-in-law’s wedding rehearsal dinner here. Superb! The room we had was perfect — an intimate fun Italian room for about 30 people! We had pizza appetizers for a cocktail time waiting for everyone to arrive. (As I forgot the computer with the slideshow at our hotel, I was grateful for this pleasant, calming time while I waited for my husband to get it.)
I can’t forget to mention that the planning with John, the catering manager, was one of the best experiences that I have ever had. He was so gracious and accommodating. Our wedding couple couldn’t decide on a single salad from the catering menu so he let them put both down as choices for our guests. (By the way… there was a 15 – 15 split from our guests. Funny!) In addition, to the planning ease, John even called me a few days before just to make sure our guest list was fine. I had emailed earlier, but it had indeed changed by one. Great customer service!
Our greeting to the restaurant from door to the room was warm and inviting. The servers that we were assigned made our evening go smoothly and everyone felt honored and special. There was a large tv in the room that we played a slideshow on. I had a hard time finding things for the tv .and they jumped in showing me the remote (that was in plain sight) and then helping me adjust the sound which I did not set loud enough. Again, unexpected but truly a wonderful experience.
The food… A.M.A.Z.I.N.G!!! We sat at 3 tables. The servers had helped me pick a white wine and red wine for our guests. They were very attentive to our guests with drinks and water! I loved the yummy assorted breads that came to the table. Our first course was the Insalata Della Casa OR Insalata Di Gorgonzola. DELICIOUS! (My husband had one and I had the other — we also were split.) The pasta course was served family style which continued the warm family atmosphere. (Although, my home doesn’t have service like this!) the pasta courses: orecchiette con salsiccia and campanelle con gamberi. BOTH were delicious and I heard oohs and ahhs around the table. The Orecchiette dish had a bit of spice that made you want to eat more than you should. The shrimp dish was addictive!
There was awesome spacing between the courses that wasn’t too long or too short. Speeches were given a various times and service continued around all of our events — keeping people sated and happy without interrupting the flow of our talking.
Our main course choices were Costoletta di Miale alla Saltinbocca and Tilipia al Forno. Again, husband got one and I got the other. Tried both and can pronounce that BOTH are awesome choices! We had sorbetti for dessert which was perfect after the night of feasting on amazing Italian food.
The bridal party were still talking about the dinner the next day as they were still full on the delicious food! It was hard to stop eating!
I would not hesitate to book Carlucci’s again to host an event! My experience and the experience of all of our guests was one that we will all treasure.

I stay in Rosemont quite a bit while traveling, and always visit Carlucci. When I say it is the best meal I’ve had in the area, I mean it wholeheartedly. If you are anywhere in the area I would recommend having a meal here,! The place is amazing and the staff is always super nice and accommodating. My server was Niko very friendly and funny. He recommend me the Ossobuco — lamb shank and i loved it. Thank you Niko.

Wonderful food, great friends, perfect evening. Whenever we get to Chicago this is a must for dinner. This visit was exceptional due to our very attentive server Christian, very fun evening. We will be back.

The good:
Fabulous steak and stuffed shrimp.
Excellent service.
The bad:
Noisy atmosphere with multiple tvs playing sports.

extremely disappointing… we were initially excited to find this place last saturday across the street from the westin o’hare, where we were staying for AXPONA, since there really wasn’t much around. the restaurant looked promising… and we both LOVE italian. we arrived about 20 mins early to our 9 pm reservation, and went to the bar to wait since there was a woman singing live. she was quite good, so much so that we decided to sit at a table in the bar for dinner so we could continue to enjoy listening to her.
it started off well… the bartender allowed me to taste between 2 malbecs before selecting. we both ordered the minestrone and were given complementary warm french bread with a parmesan dusted crust — really, really good. the BF ordered the gnocchi con filettino alla alfredo and i ordered the pappardelle con manzo brasato. all the pasta is listed as homemade — call me crazy, but this seemed far from homemade… maybe we’ve been spoiled with our encounters of freshly made pasta dishes from fino in SF. both of the pasta dishes were really chewy; my dish didn’t have much flavor and the pasta was dry — not to mention the braised marinated black angus beef… this fell off easily enough, but once you put into your mouth… just complete dryness… ugghh. neither of us could eat even a ¼ of the dish… such a waste of money. we would’ve been better off with ordering take-​out from giordano’s again.

Great place, great food, great service. Decent location (parking is a mess). My wife and I have been here a few times and it is consistently good. Great for a special occasion or to have a drink and meet a friend.

Carlucci Rosemont was not a Italian restaurant I was expecting. It had all the ambiance, service, etc, food was an ok level. Perfect for company dinner or birthday party. Resaonable price for a upscale restaurant. Great service we had. I sat by the corner of the restaurant, it gets colder as the night gets darker. It was April 2^nd, 2016.

Dined at Carlucci with a group of 16. We had a large banquet room aside from the main restaurant which resembled something similar to the Last Meal upon approach.
Within the first few minutes of being here I knew I could kiss my dairy free, gluten free hopes good bye. I guess that’s what happens when you hit the Mid West.
We had salad, pizzas and pastas passed before dinner, all of which were borderline satisfactory, the only dish that really stood out a tad above the others was the Campanelle con Gamberi. We had a set menu, with no fish options so I went Eggplant Parm, which was also ok. Tiramisu for dessert was fine.
I’d obviously never choose to dine here, not really my style and Italian may be one of my least favorite cuisines but all in all the service was good.
The food flowed continuously. BV cab is barely tolerable but when you’ve been in meetings ALL day, you’ll drink it like you love it.
They also provide shuttle service to/​from local hotels in the area. A plus if you’d had a lot to drink and would rather be dropped right to your hotel than walk back to it.

We came here last night and this is what we experienced… We walked into the bar to wait for the rest of our party and the bar was completely dirty so we didn’t wait in there… Then we get our server and he was very nice but couldn’t understand one word he said half the time… The food wasn’t all that great., I had a ravioli dish and all I could taste was capers. The bread was either stale or over cooked because it was hard. Then the bill came and it was WAY too much for all 4 of us getting pasta dishes and 1 glass of wine! The bathrooms are not in the restaurant. They’re in the office building which was weird. The 3, yes 3, Valet guys were sitting there speaking Russian to each other which made me uncomfortable as they were doing nothing. Then when they pulled up my car, I was still waiting for my friends inside… When I got out there like 5 mins later, the valet had left the door wide open that long while he was inside blabbing with the other 2!
Not greatly impressed with anything about Carluccis. Too bad, very expensive for a mediocre meal and experience.

The food was amazing but the customer service was out of this world! Everyone was incredible especially Nick and Art! They made sure that I was taken care of throughout my dinner and helped secure a shuttle to my show for the evening!
I never write reviews but I felt this place really deserved a shout out! I can’t wait to come back!

Stopped in with a couple colleagues after a little research and a quick call to make sure a table was ready. Very tuscan. Lots of fish and meat choices. Had the Calamari for a start, enjoyed that and the comp bread (a couple types of bread in the basket to choose from… soft and gresh). Decided on the Ravioli con Capesante and was super pleased.

I returned back to the area once again in Rosemont IL and had to visit this place. I am a creature of habit and had the same exact meal (don’t mess with success). Once again this place did not disappoint. As a matter of fact, I would actually say that they upped their game. Mark the GM visited mine and every other table to make sure we had a great experience, but Sarah the server really made me feel special. The order was perfect. You should ask for her when you visit. I will definitely be back. Enjoy!!!

Pat and Miguel are great and provide great service. However, the kitchen let them down big time. After waiting 30 minutes for my entrée, I had enough. Check please! The manager tried to convince me it was only 20 minutes — really, only 20 minutes!!! A terrible evening ruined by terrible service. Bad, bad experience and I’ve had such great service and dinners in the past… what a shame! Adiós Carlucci, never again!
1÷16÷16 — I will say, that I received a few emails from the General Manager and she was very apologetic about my experience and said she would talk to her team about my experience. It’s good to know that they really care about the customer’s experience — I told her I would go back next time I’m in town. Nice that she offered to make it right! Thank you Carlucci

Carluccis has been a post-​Thanksgiving tradition for many, many years, but something isn’t right at this location. After last night’s experience, our dinner party decided next year’s tradition will not include Carluccis.
After a cocktail or two, we began ordering dinner; at 6:30ish. To start, several members of our party ordered minestrone soup. Our waiter told us they were out of minestrone soup. An Italian restaurant with no minestrone soup, makes no sense to me. However, they had have chicken noodle soup. If we wanted chicken noodle soup we won’t go to an Italian restaurant. No minestrone soup at a Italian resturant is like Baskin Robbins being out of ice cream cones.
Our meals were bland. The Chicken Parmesan looked like a prepackaged frozen entrée. Nothing special here. Last night’s Swordfish special sounded great. But when it made its appearance, ugh. Small in size, high in price.
Desserts…suggestion, pass on their offerings. The Apple Pie with Ice Cream was nothing more than a pile of candied apples on a plate, with the smallest serving of ice cream they could possily put in this dessert, and still get away with calling it Apple Pie with Ice Cream. The Turtle Chessecake, which our server recommended. had no taste what so ever. It appeared to be something they could have purchased at Costco. If there’s a pastry chef on staff here, this person is not anywhere near the professional caliber of a première Chicago area restaurant.
When it’s all said and done, we’re making the right decision of dropping Carluccis from our choice of restaurant options. The wait service wasn’t all that stellar, the meals were mediocre, no soup for us, and the dessert were not any special. And at the end, we all agreed, Carluccis has become way OVERPRICED for what they had to offer.

If you are looking for great authentic Italian, you’ve found it. I haven’t ever had a dish I didn’t like. Service is quick and top notch. The décor is like you are eating in a Florence café. My company has their Christmas party there every year! The bar area is great for after work cocktails or a lunch meeting with co workers or clients.
My recommendation is…
Linguini Bobonato Con Parmigiano
(Spooled Tableside Inside a Fresh Wheel of Parmesan Cheese with Prosciutto di Parma and Fresh Basil)

Le sigh– I was so excited to try the lamb shank after rave reviews by our waiter and was very sad to get a lamb shank that tasted like pot roast. And it came with some polenta that in my opinion was terrible, I didnt eat it. I ate the lamb shank, it was tender and good sized but tasted just like pot roast. I like pot roast don’t get me wrong but for $ 32 i want something that tastes like lamb not a stew meat.
Bread was good, wine was good. Just wish I tried something else because it was so disappointing. My coworker got the swordfish special and said it was delicious, but its a special not an everyday entrée like the lamb shank.
They do offer a complimentary shuttle which is awesome especially for me not being from the area and didn’t have to track down a taxi to get back to my hotel.
I would probably go back and try something more along the italian route. The pasta dishes looked good and place smelled of delicious garlic. Should’ve learned by now to avoid meat from italian restaurants– seems to be a common mistake of mine.

I’ve been to Carlucci several times for lunch and work function. I never had any bad experience. Service is good and I like the business atmosphere when dining with my coworkers. They have a great lunch pasta special on Monday and Tuesday. Check it out!
