Arthur’s Jewelers

Well, where to begin… I bought my fiancé’s engagement/​wedding rings at a competitor’s of Arthur’s, went back to this competitor for the men’s wedding band but there wasn’t a lot of selection…
We were referred to Arthur’s by a friend and were told they are wonderful, and they’ll take great care of you, so we thought we’d give them a try. The one positive thing I will say is the selection of men’s bands is great. Ok, so we had an appointment at 4pm with a jeweler, we arrived on time and the jeweler was busy with someone else for the next 45 minutes, while we looked through rings on our own, only one person ever asked us if we needed help 40 minutes in and it happened to be one of the owners, he seemed to know his stuff, we picked a pretty pricey ring and went to make the purchase.
When we went to the counter we were told, hey you get a free secondary ring with it, sign here and essentially out the door we were whisked. Only to get a call later that they charged us the wrong amount of money and to call back and pay the rest… Also that they forgot to get my ring size… Ok we thought, so we’ll call in and get it squared away, and we did. Then weeks went by and no call, so we called and my ring had been there for 2 weeks without anyone calling us? So we called and expressed our dissatisfaction with the whole process, and to see if they would honor a sale price they were offering in a current promo, or if they would keep the secondary ring we didn’t even ask for (free tungsten band) and just deduct that price from the total. But we were told, they can’t do that because they get those for free anyway… Not sure that’s the type of info you want to freely give customers who are already dissatisfied.
So we talked to the owner, and he said oh yeah I’ve heard about your situation… (ok, so why hasn’t anyone called us back?) He said well what’s going to make you happy, we again asked for the sale price, or the deduct what the cost of the tungsten secondary ring would be and just give us the one (not the free price they get them for, but the cost that they charge customers approx $ 200 – 300). That wasn’t on the table for them, and they offered $ 100 back.
Finally we told them we’ve had it and that since they still have the rings to just keep them and refund us.
Wow, so needless to say I would not ever, under any circumstances recommend Arthur’s.

We went to Arthur’s twice. Once to just look at Engagement rings and the second time to buy my engagement rings. We had such a great experience the first time in the store. Bill Andler knew exactly what we wanted without even showing him a picture. He knows his business and his customers. My Boyfriend at the time was dreading going to look and Bill changed his perspective. We even picked out his ring while we looked at mine. It really made the experience special for us.
When it finally came time to buy a ring, we went in and knew we wanted to work with Bill. He was patient and walked us through the entire process. Explaining each diamond and keeping us in our price range. Couldn’t be happier with the ring we purchased.
Now we are going back to buy our wedding bands, we set up an appointment and Bill called us to lock in the appointment. The service is excellent.
Couldn’t ask for better service and look forward to many more years of service from Arthur’s.

Tamara was great, and truly made it easy (and not intimidating) buying an engagement ring. I will certainly be going back for all of our jewelry needs, and look forward to buying wedding bands from Arthur’s as well. The only bad part? I can’t wait to spend more money there! Amazing Men’s ring selection! Best ever! And the prices were very good, actually a little better than all the other stores I checked. Better selection, better prices, great service… you can’t beat that! In addition to the great price of the customized perfect ring I purchased, they include another ring for free (Tungsten) probably valued ~ $ 300. The tungsten ring looked awesome too! The main ring I got was already a better price than other stores I’ve check for something similar, so the fact that I got a second ring for free was amazing! Both rings are absolutely gorgeous… my wife loves them!
FYI, I’ve checked many different stores for men’s ring selections in different states as well as online. I finally made a trip to Minneapolis and learned of Arthurs. I called the store to inquire about their Men’s ring selection and the representative told me that often when men walk in the store and see the selection that their «jaw’s drop». She wasn’t kidding! Check out Arthurs! They’ll hook you up! A++++!

I cannot say enough good things about Arthur’s Jewelers. We were recommended here by another couple and their great experience here.
We were welcomed at the door, not bombarded by sales people as most jewelry stores. Then, they offer you water, coffee, soda or beer. Yes, a beer!
Then came the question of what we were looking for. At this time, we had shopped around at a lot of places (and were scared off immediately when we walked through the door and getting videos and speeches for the first 20 – 30 minutes). We knew what we wanted and our price range, so we told him this. «Ok. Great. Take a look around and let me know when you are ready». No pressure, no look at this million dollar ring first, no pushy sales pitches and videos. They are wonderful at making you feel welcome and comfortable in their store.
My only and very small complaint is their website. I searched on their website several times looking at rings and had called a few times to setup an appointment to look at the rings I had found but sadly they were sold already. But, on a good note, it ‘s a wonderful thing that they only make one style ring and once it’s sold, it’s sold. Not hundreds of other women walking around with an identical ring. So, make an appointment and look at their actual stock.
I would highly recommend Arthur’s Jewelers to anyone. We cannot wait to go back, enjoy a beer this time, and shop for our wedding bands!

The experience in the store was great– we went for an event– nice selection and options for customization. I suppose that you wouldn’t understand the bad reviews if you experienced this and got your ring in a timely fashion… this did not happen to us.
I had to call several times over the course of 10 weeks in order to get information on the ring’s whereabouts. 10 WEEKS. Not once did they call either of us to give us information. We called after a month to find out the status… then after two months to find that Arthur’s didn’t know the status of the ring coming from the maker on the east coast. The ring came in sometime after 8 weeks and I had to call to find this out. I haven’t even seen it yet, but if it isn’t right after this long…
Customer service and communication are important. Knowing the status of your stock is important. Seeming like you have a semblance of understanding of what goes on at your store is important. We didn’t feel like anyone we spoke to after picking out our ring understood these things. What if we were getting married sooner?!

Absolutely fantastic buying experience! I really enjoyed how Bill walked me through the entire process. I knew little about buying diamonds, but he patiently explained all the subjective and object ways diamonds are rated. I did not feel I was being sold hype. I feel good about my purchase and I am going to recommend it to all of my friends.
Overall the atmosphere is comfortable and they have very good coffee.

By far, the largest selection! Service was excellent each time I went– browsing for a ring, needing advice on the stone, making purchases— the staff were much more informed, professional, and helpful than other places we had been. We have recommended them to friends!

After shopping many other family jewelers throughout the twin cities, my fiancé and I found Arthur’s to have the biggest and best selection as well as amazing customer service. We found just what we were looking for in an engagement ring: a one of a kind piece that I’ll cherish forever. April did a great job pulling rings that fit my style. Great service all around.

I cannot say that there is a better place in the Twin Cities to start and finish your search for an engagement ring or any other jewelry. From the second I walked in there, they treated me like there was nothing else going on in the store and no one else more important than myself. They took the time to get to know me, the style I was looking for and my price range.
For us men, talking price is a bit of a touchy subject and touches on our pride. Arthur’s did a WONDERFUL job and making me feel like I had endless amounts of money to spend and it didn’t matter what I bought, just that I was happy.
After looking at a few other places, and fully deciding I wanted to shop LOCAL and with a family owned business, I can say that Arthur’s had a bigger selection than the other places. They do all their repairs in store, quickly and perfectly the first time.
If I had any tips: maybe call ahead to schedule an appointment. You by no means have to, but that way they will have things ready for you (such as different diamonds, different cuts, different bands, etc).
Again, I cannot say better things about Arthur’s. We are excited to head back in and specially order our wedding bands. The highest quality, locally owned and best jeweler in the Twin Cities.

The place is fine. We got what we wanted, and that was that. We would have gotten a better deal online, but didn’t want to buy a ring online because who knows how it will actually look on her hand.
However, it’s important to know that they pay for reviews. They have brochures right on their counter that say they’ll give you a $ 50 gift card if you write a «rave review» on Unilocal or some other site. I found this particularly annoying because the only reason I went there is the great reviews I read on Unilocal.Had I known the people were paid $ 50 to talk about how great Arthur’s is, I probably wouldn’t have gone there. Arthur’s knows that, of course, which is why they pay for reviews.

I recently lost my wedding band while tubing down a river. The staff at Arthur’s Jewelers far exceeded my expectations in service and quality with my replacement ring. They were very knowledgeable with the insurance process and helped me find exactly what I wanted. And I even got a Tungsen ring for free to wear the next time I go tubing.

About a year ago I started my journey to marriage. I spent a lot of time researching jewelers and different types of engagement rings. Arthur’s was the very first place I visited and after visiting many other jeweler’s in the Twin Cities, Arthur’s was the last. I choose Arthur’s because of the wonderful sales associates that were there, everyone of them were very friendly and helpful and their inventory was just great. We went there and got our custom wedding bands before the wedding. It’s just been a pleasure. Definitely my spot to get my wife her next piece of jewelry.

I don’t understand the bad reviews here either. Arthur’s is my favorite jewelry store in the Cities. My husband and I have made multiple purchases here and I’ve had repairs done as well. The repairs were done on jewelry bought years ago from mall stores (in other states). Their prices were fair and they always had the repairs done quickly. The pieces we bought from Arthur’s were high quality and always draw a lot of compliments.
Most importantly, we have always had excellent customer service at Arthur’s. From being greeted and assisted in store to making a purchase online and still receiving personal service over email, I’ve always felt good about spending money at Arthur’s and like I received top-​notch service.

I’m so confused about the negative reviews here. While I’m not shopping for a giant diamond, we are shopping for diamond wedding bands, and I’ve gone to several other fancier, and more custom-​focused stores, though none of them have provided the in-​store, very helpful, and in my mind great customer service that we found here.
At other places I’d start to describe what I’d like to find or have made, and no one really seemed even interested; if a custom request, getting estimates was like pulling teeth (and hey, we are planning on several $ 1000s for pete’s sake!)
As soon as we walked into Arthur’s, Bill greeted me (I’d gone alone this time to check it out given the unimpressive experiences we had had at 4 other jewelers so far).
He listened to my tastes, and went running around to find me rings he thought I’d like. I’d so far not experienced anything like that! At a much «fancier» jeweler, first of all their selection was much, much, much less impressive, and they guy just looked at me, and said I could look around. Here, Bill brought me more and more bands that were similar to the ones I’d identified and like some pictures I’d brought in. He was so helpful, and really you couldn’t ask for a friendlier, actually down to earth guy, versus pretense and just plain un-​helpfulness that I’d begun to figure was standard in jewelry shopping in this state. (I am from Chicago, and Bill reminds me of jewelry professionals in the jewelry district there, which I liked also.) My husband came with me the second time, and said he like Bill better than any jewelers he’s dealt with (has been married before, and engaged another time), and said, «I want to buy diamonds from Bill.»
Another thing I loved about Bill is how knowledgeable he is! I’ve never learned so much about diamonds, I loved it! I have a diamond wholesaler/​jeweler friend in Chicago, and had not heard so many details about stones as I was regaled with here. I love that, love learning, and if about something I’m spending quite a bit of loot for, well, so much the better [for me]!
*One somewhat negative thing: we ended up having the ring made. When we saw the molded one, before it was made with gold and diamonds, I asked for some less bulkiness to the gold surrounding the diamonds for the final version. Next visit was to see the final version, and I felt odd saying I still saw that bulkiness to the surrounding gold, so I bit my tongue. My husband is very uncomfortable ever sending anything back, and heck, I really liked Bill. Having the ring for about a year now, I do like it, though from time to time I still wonder what it would be like if it had less gold surrounding those diamonds… which may well have cost less too, of course.
But overall, especially perhaps if you’re having anything custom done, make sure you document your notes explicitly, and you’ll avoid this slight hesitancy to my saying, «I love this place.» I do still really like Bill. Some of the others I’ve spoken slightly to here, I don’t know enough to say too much, but they’ve not engaged me as Bill did immediately a year ago.

I got an incredible ring from my new fiancé thanks to Arthur’s! My ring is impeccable and unique. I think my mom said it best by calling it ‘breathtaking.’ My fiancé was maybe even happier with my ring. He raved about the service at Arthur’s, and I think he may be a lifelong customer. I highly recommend Arthur’s Jewelers for all your jewelry needs.

In the search for the perfect engagement ring, my girlfriend and I visited many different places. We stopped at many of the mall jewelers as well as a few other stand alone jewelers. Ultimately I decided to make this huge purchase from Arthur’s. I could not be happier.
First off, the selection is enormous… even overwhelming a tad with all of the different choices. Tom helped us in weeding through the styles we liked and finding the right ring before sitting us down and giving us a full-​blown diamond lesson. He showed us diamonds that fit inside the parameters that we were looking for and never once pressured us into making a decision. When it came down to pricing, I felt like I got an extraordinary value for the ring I was purchasing.
I gave them a timeline by when I would like the ring and they delivered, as promised. The ring looked better than I could have imagined. Since popping the question, my fiancée has received numerous compliments on how much the ring sparkles.
I highly recommend Arthur’s to anyone looking for an engagement ring. Skip the mall jewelers with their pushy salespeople and limited selection. Go to a place where you can see hundreds of different settings, many beautiful diamonds and get excellent value and superb service.

Got my broken ring back — went on a Saturday this time — they were finally open and abuzz with customers. I was sooo tempted to start walking around, showing other customers what happened to my ring and say, «This could happen to you.»
I’ve just submitted my complaint to the BBB. As I stated, I will definitely update my review if I get a good response. We have offered to give the faulty ring back, with the agreement we will receive a new ring at the original purchase price. Seems fair, right?

Cut, Clarity, Color, Carat, Cost = A Confused Cullen! Then throw in light performance and choosing the right setting and buying an engagement ring can be an overwhelming experience for a guy not well versed in purchasing jewelry.
However, I must say that I found my experience at Arthur’s Jewelers overwhelmingly positive. Reading through other reviews, I am surprised at the negativity spewing from the Unilocal community. For the most part they seem to focus on a lack of customer service. In my case I worked directly with Carver Nogai, the co-​owner of the establishment. He was always professional and patient with me over the phone as well as in-​person. He helped over numerous months to find the right diamond for a setting I had purchased with him back in April. Finally we found the right diamond, and he worked with me to secure it within my budget. My new fiancée loves everything about it, as do the plethora of girlfriends weighing in on the subject.
If things change and I find the service post-​purchase to waiver in any manner, then I suppose I will update my review accordingly. However, I don’t expect to have to do that because I have had nothing but A+ service to this point. In fact, I will return again should I have any future jewelry endeavors.

My husband bought my engagement ring from Arthur’s. The 1 star is for the selection — which was very nice — and for our initial visit there together.
The missing 4 stars is for everything else. From the time he ordered the ring, it was nothing but problems. The setting they had in the store had a small dent in it, so he requested that they order a new one (wanting — as it should be — for everything to be perfect).
Weeks passed, and there was no response. He finally received a call saying that the setting was in and the diamond had been set. He went to pick it up, and the ring wasn’t ready. He was asked to come back.
He got another call and returned to the store, only to find that there was still a small dent in the setting — in the exact same place as the first ring. He confronted them about it, and they claimed that they had ordered a new one — and that there was a flaw in the mold from the designer.
So, my husband contacted the designer — who informed him that he hadn’t received an order from them since well before the original order had been placed. We returned to the store with the email verifying this and were treated extremely rudely. They continued to deny it.
Eventually, we did get the ring — with no dent in it — and properly set, but not until there had been numerous wasted trips and weeks of frustration.
My experience with them was a fantastic first impression and poor follow-​up. I would recommend shopping elsewhere for such a major purchase.
